    So crazy that this is a worker placement game with only 4 locations, there is just so much going. And you covered everything so well!

    CORRECTIONS:
    52:39 - That symbol lets you take any visitor from the plaza and put them in your gallery. You only take from the bag if the plaza is empty.
    58:52 - Once all THREE ticket types are depleted this satisfies one of the 2 required endgame triggers.
    1:03:15 - Each row on the Art Dealer card can be satisfied only once, so only one painting would count in this example and the max score is 25 points.
    1:05:50 - The Art Dealer will only score us 5 points for a single sold painting, so any further sold paintings will not gain an Art Dealer bonus.
    1:10:49 - Purple will forget to move a visitor from their lobby into the plaza, something you must do every time you add a reputation tile to your board.
    1:23:17 - Purple will forget to move a visitor from their lobby into the plaza, something you must do every time you add a reputation tile to your board.

    Well done Jon ! That was the first time I have managed to understand this game. Seems more complicated but after your video, I think it is pretty straightforward. Thanks 👍

    Great video. I don’t think you mentioned that when you acquire that renowned work of art in the auction it gets sold for the value of the most famous artist of that particular art style.

    Thanks for the vid Jon.
    I have to re-iterate how good these playthroughs are.
    Just a bit of an overview so we have a gist of what is going on, then as the game goes on everything becomes clear.
    Having no long rules-dump at the beginning is perfect.

    @1:23:14 Jon, the Klingon message states, "move a visitor from their lobby into the gallery", but should be "move a visitor from their lobby into the plaza" -- see rulebook page 12 > Action: Take a Reputation Tile > step 3

    @1:05:50 for scoring the Art Dealer (and Curator) cards - you only score each section one time. So multiple sold paintings would still only earn you $5.

      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety

      Huh, that is super not clear from the rulebook. It does explicitly mention you can use a piece for multiple sets for the Curators but that is omitted from the Art Dealer section. I looked up on BGG and I do think you are correct, it's unfortunate that isn't shown more clearly in the rulebook.

      I understand that, but it simply took way too much of my time. A video like this one would have easily been an additional 10 hours of work and I'd be really not enjoying it at that point. I used to, but I just don't have the patience for 15-20 hour videos anymore.

    • @Zacht1980
      @Zacht1980 Před 2 lety +1

      @@JonGetsGames Yeah, that's a ton of work and I appreciate how much you already do. One thought for long games like this, would it be possible to pick a spot where you've explained all the rules, stop recording, play out the game off camera, then show just the last turn and scoring? It would really keep the excitement of the final score results. Anyway thanks for the top notch videos!

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety +1

      This is something I've considered doing more, but even then it does take time to "play it out" and just the act of simulating multiple players can be exhausting after enough time. I will keep it in mind though, maybe I'll do this for some games that make sense in the future.

  • @dreamofempire2114

    Near at 1:10:00 when the purple player does the reputation market action they should move one visitor (in case the collector) from their lobby back to the plaza for taking the reputation tile.

    At 1:23:28 you "fixed" the Purple player so they could do the Executive action before the main action they just did, but am I right in thinking that main action was only legal because they HADN'T done it first, they needed that collector in the lobby right? Edit: Ah you also then moved the brown one in, back to legal again!

    I'm curious if you find this game a cousin to a cube rails game. The shared incentives of the artists' fame seems to echo that.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, I was thinking along the same lines when I was filming this. I haven't played in 7 years though, and making this video made me very interested in getting it to the table again and a big part of it is because of the shared incentives I see.

  • @henribcosta
    @henribcosta Před 2 lety

    I'm just starting to watch the video, but did you usually talk about the set up in the games? Here you have some decision right from the begining in where your pawn would start, right?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety

      I usually completely skip setup for games, even if there are player decisions to be made. The reason for this is because to show those decisions often requires the viewer to understand more complex concepts that I haven't taught yet so skipping makes the most sense to me.

    • @henribcosta
      @henribcosta Před 2 lety

      @@JonGetsGames I see you talk about them in the middle. That's cool.
      In addition, I think the bonus on the reputation spot you talk about at 52:00 is just get a visitor from the plaza to your gallery. The icon to choose one from the bag is slightly different and appears in some contracts later on the video (around 1:05:00 I think)

    I might be losing my marbles, but I think you missed a turn. When you went to the Media Centre, you were kicked out by Purple, and then Blue kicked out Purple, but then Purple took another full turn before you did.

      @@JonGetsGames At 1:16:00 you were just to take a turn, but then reminded some things that blue should've done in their turn and skipped your turn...

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety

      At that point I believe it went correctly. Blue kicked us out, did a main turn, then we did a kicked out turn, then I went back and let Blue do an executive action from their main turn, and then play moved to Purple. I could have missed something (it can get confusing) but I don't think a turn was skipped there.

  • @timoseppa9124
    @timoseppa9124 Před 2 lety

    Seems like a game I want to like (and then get), but the look is pretty blah, the gameplay doesn't seem like it would really immerse me into much of a feeling of being a gallerist (does that sound silly? I like themes that let me "play" something), and there seems like a lot of repetitive sameiness to the actions.

  • @IamBIGuUS

    People miss this rule all the time, but you can't have more than one of each ticket color at a time.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety +3

      I just looked at the rulebook again and couldn't find this rule. On page 14 I found a rule that said players are never able to "take" 2 tickets of the same color at the same time, but that's different from having more than 1 of a color on the player board. At least that's my interpretation, I could well be missing something.
