I live where we don't have a frost. Nursery advised others have advised the same issues. Soil pH is fine. Been in ground for 7 years . So it's not frost damage

This temperature/frost cause can't be right for that type of streaking yellow. I had the same in southern Cal in Aug. and we don't usually get below 40 in winter. Mine happened after overwatering and no fertilizer for over a year. I think it was from the overwatering and/or depleted Magnesium. I added proper magnesium supplement to fertilizer and will leave the leaves on top yellowed, waiting to trim them in spring. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Hello.. I'm from India.. The leaves of Cycas revoluta in our lawn is turning yellow and then drying.. We had a good bout of rain in the past month but before that it was very hot and the temperatures reached to 39 celcius.. The plant is 35 years old, but another Cycas revoluta (roughly 35 years old) growing within a distance of 2 meters is growing well..Could you please identify the problem and suggest a remedy?

Hello. I have 20 years old sago palms that keep growing almost 8 feet tall. Almost all female.
The mother tree produce so many new pups around the trunk.
Basically, their leaves usually have an 'expiration period' too - so when it comes to grow up new leaves, old ones should be 'sacrificed'. It turns yellowish then brownish.
But do look at the top/crown before doing anything - if no new crown emerge yet, do not pruning it. Let it blooms first so that it would be guaranteed the tree are in the good condition naturally.
I lived in tropical country. Watering is needed but not frequently. When it comes to raining season, usually I don't water the plants. I let nature takes care of it.
If the trees are just be leaving to grow as their natural process, I think it's far off better. But seeing those yellow, old leaves in my garden makes me so anxious. Hehe. I could relate why you do, too.
    Just my tencent opinion.

    What else causes browning?

      Roundup?
I put Roundup around some weeds nearby and mine had this issue.
Also in the tropics, however I think this idea is a good one as my bottom leaves haven't been damaged, which would be warmer being closer to the ground so frost makes sense.

Sagos are either male of female and if it has cone then it is used for pollination on female Sago seeds when it flowers. Wear gloves as the cones and seeds are highly poisonous to dogs that can bring death to them and perhaps humans.

Agreed. Frost may yellow, but this type is likely from too much water and probable need for magnesium boost, imo.
