    What I think is even crazier is that this was never Steph's full potential. Not even thinking about injuries, but when Steph played as a more traditional PG at the beginning of his career. Imagine if he had the green light from the start. He'd have way more points, and way more threes, at record efficiency, because he was efficient to begin with. Would be crazy.

      He still does play a pg role he just know his biggest role is to scores and off ball movement to give his teammates a opportunity he is unselfish that’s why he win u see he just had a Triple double but they lost because his teammates not scoring well enough so ain’t no telling how many assists he have if the team play is is also a underrated rebounder which is one of his Strengths

      @@9ineYT22 I think that is actually the reason he played more traditionally this series with the ball in his hands, nobody else was helping, so he either had to spoon-feed passes or do it himself. Its a shame that the Warriors got eliminated, but I don't think anyone can really blame Steph seeing what he was doing.

    When Steph retires , as much as I will remember his accomplishments, records etc … it will be the sheer joy & awe of watching him play the game I’ve loved since I’m 6 years old… and that he did with class … to me he’s been a gentleman on & off the court .. not many get to say that .

    Nobody will ever be as efficient as Steph..he will always have done it better in less games and less minutes than anybody. The only way somebody breaks his record is low percentage high volume high minutes and longevity.

    The records that can’t be broken are when the teams are not prepared to deal with such a threat. It took years and all teams changed their defense to stop curry, that is why his numbers for him are lower each year, not because he is getting worse, if anything he is getting better. Same happened for bill Russell and Kareem, no one knew how to stop them. Until a player with something new and unstoppable comes like LBJ did record did records will break. Maybe a 7 footer that shoots threes could break the game again.

    I believe Steph can get to 5,000+ 3’s before he retires, if he can play at least 65-70 games till 40 years old. Steph should probably already have 4,000 made 3’s right now had he not missed so much time due to injuries

    He’s still got a good amount of years left to increase the record number. That being said, do I think it’ll be broken? Well, they say all records are meant to be broken. But Curry is an abnormal kind of talent that you don’t see very often. It may be multiple generations before we see something like this again, and even then it may not be enough to break whatever record Steph sets when he plays his last game.

    Not that i think he will, but one name to watch out for is Anfernee Simons. Currently 23 and sits on 596 career threes made. Averaged 3.4 makes on 9.1 attempts this past season. Let's round that up to 3.5 makes because he did shoot north of 40% in his two previous seasons. Let's say he has 17 seasons left and plays 70 games each season, that equals 1190 games left to play, times 3.5 makes equals 4165 more threes made. That would put him at a career total of 4761 threes made.

    The only way that Stephen Curry’s 3 Point Record for the regular season is going to be broken is
    1.) This player must be the offensive focal point of the team, the NUMBER 1 Option
    2.) At bare minimum out the gate make 200 threes per season for 20 years.
    3.) Make threes at bare minimum on 40%
    All requirements must be met to make it happen. Nobody playing today is touching that record, they not efficient enough and/or they’re not the number 1 Option or both.

    Someone will definitely take the Total 3pt FG made in the far future because Steph spent his early years injured and he's yet to revolutionize the game
    but I think when you take into consideration the number of games it took to get the total... Steph's might just be untouchable coz side by side to others rn, his is already absurd

    Are we really talking about 19 years from now? At that point, Canon his son might continue the family tradition of sharpshooting and plays in the NBA. In a lot of videos, it already shows Canon loves to copy his dad just the way Steph grew up copying Dell. The point I am trying to make is, unless your a Curry, you ain't breaking this reason because of two main reasons. One, you have to play in a system that lets you launch 10 plus threes a game and still be winning, or else you'll end up retiring at 32 or you're just a Houston Rockets experiment 2.0 that last one or two seasons. Two, you'll have to be a super star, not a Kyle Kouver, or Buddy Hield as mentioned in this video. Because unless your opponent defends you at a safe distance to prevent you to drive, you're not getting the space needed to jack up a three. Especially you'll need quick release, range, and most importantly that only a few has the capability of is to shoot from off the dribble AND spot up. Since we're talking about the future, let me remind you Curry also leads the league in All Time playoffs threes made, so it goes back to what I said that you're either a sharpshooter that plays a role on the team (example. Klay), or you're not winning much which means you'll never be counted for as the next Curry.

  • @mastpg
    @mastpg Před rokem +1

    The biggest reason that Curry's record will be broken is Curry himself. He's changed the game.
    I just don't get it. What were coaches telling themselves? What were assistant coaches telling them? How did it take so long for people to realize that any player who can shoot 40% from 3 should have a perpetual green light and should be a main focus of the offense?
    Someone will come along who can reliably shoot 45-50% on catch and shoot threes and will bounce between systems/teams with elite first and second options. This will leave them open for 2-3 attempts a quarter. Stay in the league, shooting like that for 12-15 years, and you've got it. Best candidate would be an upgraded JJ Reddick type in the ~6'6" range who can guard a team's 3rd or 4th option.
    Curry will probably still be the shooting GOAT even after his record is broken. I mean, no one ever thought Malone was the greatest scorer or all time.

    • @parkinsaw
      @parkinsaw Před 10 měsíci

      Simple, coaches were saying "this player can't maintain this consistency".....oh I guess he can. Realistically coaches wouldn't coach a 3 point oriented scheme as nobody was as consistent, even when covered (from seemingly anywhere) for as long as Curry was lol. (Also Curry's release is insanely fast so really hard to guard that)
      *It also helped that they had another 3 point threat
      Reason I doubt anybody will be able to break Curry's record is because coaches now no what to look out for and how to somewhat counter it.
