Interior wise you could go for an older Lotus Elise type of look. Light seats, simple door cards and dash, some floor mats and then painted metal everywhere else. Excited to see whatever you do and I love its story so far!

As far as new water cooled engines go, I think a modern porsche engine could be cool, restomod style. Expensive though, you could get a much cheaper flat engine from subaru I guess. Mighty car mods did an EJ25 beetle, I think I’ve seen an EZ36 911 before too.

I just used WD40 to remove the deadener residue in my e36, worked insanely well and bonus is that it didn't want to kill me unlike everything else I tried. Good luck with the build and Happy Holidays!

Not oem, but fuse links can easily be replaced with afrermarket (add-a-circuit) fused adapter. Much easier to replace a standard fuse then try and find the correct fuse link and if it happens again being in the same spot you can just pull a fuse from the pack and replace.
