No cap, I started on a new server because I just came back from a long break too and got a heroic toon...I was farming trakanon... Lol I have multiple sets of bp on different toons... Like 10 mana robes... At that time I said no more...I need to do something on a new server...

Hah, one year later, but fresh player on Yelinak here, and I decided to check CZcams for some tips, and look who it is, my favorite EQ youtuber.
Started a Paladin because I'm a glutton for punishment and it was my original character back in the day. My plan was originally to save up some cash for a magical weapon, farm Willowisps on the island outside Qeynos and make a lot of plat during my teens that way to afford a Ghoulbane at some point, but kinda making up my plan as I go at the moment. I don't want to restrict myself to just one zone when I want to revisit so many of them.
Just made it to Rivervale at lvl 10 and shocked to see they remade Misty Thicket. I actually like the new version a lot, almost sad I didn't go there earlier(but Blackburrow had some very chaotic fun in my earlier levels).
Considering trying my luck in the Gorge in a couple of levels as that was pretty fun exp on p1999, but Oasis is always a classic too and curious about the changes they seem to have made to the desert zones. Now that I'm bound to Rivervale I have alot of options.
Nice tips, though I'm a very casual player these days. But if I hit 30 by the time Kunark drops, I'll be very happy as Kunark was the expansion where I originally started playing and I love all of it.
I'm...I'm your favorite? :D I really need to re-do this video...at least the tips are still valid! Kunark has some awesome leveling zones but if you're *super* casual I'd actually recommend Iceclad if you want some chill leveling. The cougars are very plentiful and they can drop a nice earring...I think its like 2ac 3str 2dex or something like that? Cougar claw earring. And then Tower of Frozen Shadow is just super fun and exciting. Very very cool lore, too.

Thanks for the guide. I will be playing Shaman since it's the class I haven't played in TLP yet. I'm still undecided on the race and the server, though.
Absolutely! TLPs are a lot of fun, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out. I've played a ton of these.
Shaman's are great but be ready for some annoyance with buffs in Classic with the need to single buff everyone. Gets much much easier starting in Kunark with group buffs.
If servers go as they have in the past, I imagine Mischief will start out with longer queues, Thornblade will be less populated but could see more attrition. They have suggested they could merge them but wouldn't merge until 2022. Just some things to keep in mind for server choice. I will be playing on Thornblade.
As for race, if you're in it for the long term, you can't really go wrong. Race matters less and less as you progress through xpacs. Play what you enjoy!
These progressions servers are awesome for people who weren't around for eq's launch. I haven't decided on class yet, looking forward to launch!
They really are. It's like stepping back in time in a lot of ways. Eq just has so much content after all these years, too.

Best part of EQ is the community. I just came back from a long break (15 years) and started playing on a progression server. Met a bunch of cool people in a guild. In a week I am up to level 78...I met them when I was level 23...a couple guys took me to plane of innovation at level 49 and in about 10 min I was up to level 63.... I've never seen power leveling like this lol.
Subbed and liked. I might do something I havnt done since back in the day. Make a human monk... lol it feels wrong ikky is just so good
Thank you for the like and subscription! I know what you mean. I was considering going necromancer but Iksar Necromancer > All. They do have race-change in the cash shop and as a sub you get 500 coins a month so roughly 5 months from the start you'd be able to race change without paying anything extra. There is a discount for being a subscriber which lowers it by I think 10% or so while there are also occasional sales which add on dropping it total about 20 or 25%.
All that said, human monk is insaaane in the early game with fists and iksar monks don't catch up for a while.

That's awesome! I hope you have a great time. Shaman is such a great helpful class. You'll also notice significant differences in your dots since you last played. They won't stack in the same line, will cost a lot more mana, and do a lot more damage.

Great memories from release was a group of us trying to travel from Halas to GFey...no ports, riding the ship, falling off, dieing to sharks and trying to find our corpses....took all day but once we finally got to Gfey it was a true accomplishment

My was a DE necro trying to go from nek forest to geynos... Night through kithicor... High hold pass you get lost and you drop invis without ANY warning (back in 99)...then the karanas are just huge... Damn, I don't miss it lol

2022 Lock your door, ignore your wife/partner and/or children.
DB store sells levitation and SOW potions the durations is 4 hours. Very easy now run from Qeynos to Feeport

Searching my memory banks how my original bard "slowly" leveled in EQ. 1-20 east commons, south ro, befallen/crushbone. 20-40 unrest/highpass hold, highpass, oasis of marr, east karana. 40-50 everfrost ice giants lol.
Really cant decide who i want to try this time. Gnome/sk or troll/sham. With the randomness of this server, i think either of them could be real fun.
Both sound like a ton of fun! Gnome sk is one I havent seen in a while for sure.
I know I'm going sham what I can't decide is if I wanna box or not. Like I dont wanna permanently box but I might make a mage to go with the sham then trade it for something at 50. Depending on what time you play we could team up

I've tried so hard to like Guk. I've been back so many times. And while I like some of the very cool aspects of the level design. (Especially the water entrance to lower Guk) I hate this dungeon so much... Always get far too many ads. Can't get kills down fast enough to stop respawning in most areas, even moving around often starts fights that just will never stop. Solusek may be worse, but man do I ever hate Guk.
Honestly this is why I liked the idea of Vaniki. I can't handle so many of the old classic zones anymore, especially with their limitations. I really need to make a new version of this video with some update zones for later in progression and for servers like Vaniki that don't start in classic.
Ok ok who here wants to see these guys show content past everqueat classic??? Secrets of fadwer just opened up... soooooi many quests. Our guild is now splitting raids WOW.. but the viewers will never know .. why, you ask, maybe it's too hard? Maybe no friends? Or just hard to make content ? I wanna see other expansions . I *wish* I would have done content back when I was playing Phinny. I went all the way to Torment of Velious. I have an idea that I want to have a guide for each expansion of "what to expect" or "what changes"
