Released by Tecmo in March 1989, Ninja Gaiden follows the journey of Ryu Hayabusa who sets out to avenge his father's death. Judging from the fantastic cut scenes, it also involves a woman with a mullet who may or may not be trying to kill him. This game set the precedent for all subsequent ninja games, in that you run around in broad daylight, kill any and all things in your path, and do no less than 30 flips every time you leave the ground. First thought: "Someone can actually beat Ninja Gaiden?!"
Second: "Without killing enemies!!?!"
Third: "....in 17 minutes?! Are you fucking kidding me!!!!"
To train you need to do something easier
1. Play Dark souls 1 and 2
1.1 At a same time
1.2 Blindfolded
1.3 Without buying equipment
1.4 Without a single death
2. Any pokemon game with nuzlocke (Special conditions apply)
2.1 No healing in pokemon centers
2.2 No consumables
2.3 Once you pass out you are dead and must start over again
2.4 No pokeballs other than normal
2.5 You may only capture pokemon that you encounter first in an area
2.5.1 If you encounter more than one pokemon at a same time pick one who got lower level
2.5.1.1 If all pokemons encountered are same level, you may chose
3. Doom 1 and 2 on maximum difficulty
3.1 You may only use pistol and meele weapons
3.2 Play on original hardware or have engine that renders the game in original resolution and graphics
3.3. No healing items
3.4. No armor items
3.5. If you get wounded in a level, you may only use meele weapon
3.5.1 Does not apply on final level
3.6. No saving
3.6.1 Bonus points if you have diarrea
3.6.1.1 Does not apply if you are on toilet

Marcuss2 Funny you should say that I'm actually a long time Souls fan. Played Demon Souls a bit, played Dark Souls religiously then played Dark Souls 2 to NG++ then stopped and went back to Dark Souls. It's funny I've beaten every soul game to at least NG+ but for some reason returning to Ninja Gaiden I can't fucking beat it.

Took me 28 years to beat this game,back then I destroyed a Nes Advantage controller because of it and this guy beat it in 17 minutes?

This guy is the gamer I've always wanted to be. Instead I'm just really shitty at side-scrollers like Ninja Gaiden.
I could never beat this game when it was out for the NES, I was like 11-12 years old, but playing it on Virtual NES I was able to beat the final boss. Sending you back to 6-1 is what kicks your ass if you lose the boss battle, which WILL happen because you don't know the pattern of falling objects yet. Think of the time when we had no internet had to figure this all out on our own, no wonder so few beat this game and just gave up, it wears you down. And of course, I had no idea about the super fast slashing he was doing, one slash at a time is how I beat him.
You should try it. :) One of the hardest games of all time.

THIS GAME is the true reason why GlaDOS HATE bird with a passion.
back in 1989 when the game first came out I was 11. As a video game addict and not many friends my NES was my best friend. I mastered Ninja Gaiden when it came to the speed run regular playthrough without any deaths, without taking any damage whatsoever and never letting go of the directional button to go forward ! If I took any damage I would hit the reset button and start over, talk about UNBREAKABLE DETERMINATION ! Did this many times and showed off to many from my school who said it could not be done and word spread that I was a master. Every time I would beat the game within 15 minutes but not faster than 10 minutes. At the time I didn't think of recording my runs or setting records because I am sure as an 11 year old poor kid I didn't have access to a cam-corder ( remember those?) I may have at the time had a time worthy of record placement. I don't have the game today but this brings those nostalgic moments of my life. Patience was learned in my life at this point.Nowdays you can find me playing Blizzard Entertainment games such as Overwatch®, Heroes of the Storm®, and of course World of Warcraft® where I have had the liberty to play PvP arena with the likes of Swifty, Bajheera, and other awesome gamers. 2600k rated :DNo matter what anyone tells you gaming is not just for nerds and weird people. Nice run but I don't think that's even close to the WR. I used to time myself beating this game all the time and I was able to go under 19 minutes even though I always died after the Jakio's first form (2nd of the last enemies) which brought me back all the way to Malth's bridge. A perfect run I think, would probably just under 15 minutes I believe.
