- Live run of DK64 by cfox. Oh, the DK Rap. That was donated for.=) Lmao. From SDA's Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ 2013) a charity speed run marathon which aimed to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The marathon was a MASSIVE success, with donations reaching $448,423.27.

The famous gorilla came to Nintendo 64 in November 1999 in his first 3D adventure. Most of his family and all of his precious banana collection have once again been locked away by K.Rool. Rescue the Kongs of varying abilities and recollect the scattered 201-large banana collection while travelling to seven different areas. Donkey Kong 64 is a platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 that was released in North America on November 24, in Europe on December 6, and in Japan on December 10, 1999. The game is a follow up to the Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Many of the levels are based on levels from the original three Donkey Kong Country games, such as the mine carts and the bonus stages. Donkey Kong 64 follows the adventures of Donkey Kong and four of his simian relatives as they try to win back their hoard of Golden Bananas and banish King K. Rool. Players can control all five Kongs in eight individual levels as well as a greater world map, a multiplayer mode, and several minigames.

This commentary is in my top favorites. The runner is so animated. He clearly enjoys what he's doing and despite his luck concerning the glitches, he keeps a good, relaxed mood throughout the whole thing. Good job.

remember beating this game when I was 7 took me 3 months to do it and I was so relieved best game on the 64 I've played

It's the best video game ever. It wasn't until 4 months ago that I could fully beat it 101%.
I haven't plsyed it in years. I couldn't even beat K. Rool when I was little. I kept failing on the shoe part because I didn't understand the toe pattern.
Okay, yes... K. Rool even at my age now was a pain in the ass to beat. That particular part of it made me confused too. Had to look up now to do it.
This is one of the best sped runs done by this channel! The commentary was good (which is new in speed runs) and the glitches were funny
I love this run. Runner gets boned over at literally every facet of the game and still goes through with a smile and a good attitude. Awesome stuff!

Definitely one of my favorites from the marathon as well. The whole run has a really comfortable and laid-back atmosphere that feels relatable to my experience with the game. I'd probably watch a 101% if he did one for AGDQ.

The nostalgia is real.
This brings back memories. I played a ton of DK64 when I was 10. I somehow managed to get 101% because I had 201 golden bananas. While you're inside the main island, there's actually a secret section where you can get into one of King K Rool's rooms, where one of the cutscenes takes place.

I liken the claps when he gets the glitches right to when Bruce Lee scored those points during the afternoon spar with scarface on Enter The Dragon. I chucked when I thought of it. Good job man.

I don't know if any one else had it but when i was a kid some McDonalds had a small tv faced down which had DK 64 and i always tried to run it. Good times :)
I have to do these glitches. I haven't beaten this game because of stupid donkey kong 1980's minigame.

It is a frame perfect trick, but since it is at the very beginning of a run it is easy to restart the entire run if you fuck it up. Since he did this live, he just kept going instead of restarting the counter after messing up the memory bug in the start menu.
It was probably just approx 10-15 sec at most he lost I think.

Playing the arcade wasn't too bad. Took me 3-4 times to beat each version. Once it got to Crystal Caves, then I started to scream and bang stuff. Still, I managed and successfully beat it 101%.

it's really around 44:30, but the explanation starts at 44:15 but (spoiler alert) when he says you really have to be unlucky so he'll probably be fine, and of course gets screwed over
