    I laminate the budgeting sheets, then use a thin tip sharpie to write on it, then just use alcohol to remove it once it’s full :) saves cash in the long run from ordering more! X

    I use a modified cash envelope system for my savings/sinking funds categories (gifts, personal savings, vacation, vehicle repairs, and medical) and my personal cash allowance. The one for my cash allowance I put a set amount in each pay period and can spend it on what ever with out writing it in my budget tracker, all my miscellaneous expenses (snacks, meals out, planner stickers) have to come out of my cash and the change all goes back into the envelope. At the end of the pay period the coin change that is left goes in the change bucket in our room and the paper money goes to the medical sinking fund to pay off a large medical bill.
    All of the savings/sinking funds envelopes get money added to them each pay period except the medical one, it receives the left over money from my cash envelope and a large installment once a month due to how that bill is being paid.

    This is an interesting planner and may make a good option for someone starting out. We‘ve used a zero-based budget sheet in Excel/Google Sheets since 2006 (auto calculates), but some folks may not like spreadsheets.
    The “Christmas Tracker” rubbed me the wrong way unless it’s specifically made a Christian organization creating the planners, which is not determined here. The change to “holiday tracker” is more inclusive and opens the product to a wider audience.
    That said, we’ve used some combination of zero-based budgeting and cash envelopes for years and while this set is nice, for those saying Sold Out, you don’t need anything this fancy to have a decent budget tracker and cash envelope system. Anyone is free to make whatever decision on products to buy, but my point is you don’t need this particular system (or similar) if it’s a barrier to helpful budgeting techniques.
    One last thing: Regardless of what you have envelopes made out of, they will get *pummeled* in pockets and purses. Plan for that. :) I prefer recyclable envelopes for that reason.

      Hi! I just wanted to add a thought about the Christmas wording. I thought it was odd at first that they would do that too, but then I realized that these are designed in Europe. I’m not sure which country the company is based in, but I know that some European countries don’t have the December holiday diversity that the US does, and maybe Christmas is all that is celebrated there. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @AFluidRealiTea
      @AFluidRealiTea Před 4 lety +1

      @@MySomethingBeautifulLife Thank you for this item. Yes, it's definitely more common in Europe. That would make sense. I made the assumption it was a US-based company, which made it a little tone deaf. (I still feel it's tone deaf regardless in our global community, but it makes more sense knowing this.)

    • @MySomethingBeautifulLife
      @MySomethingBeautifulLife Před 4 lety +1

      I agree that something generic like “Holiday” would definitely appeal to more people, not just in the United States, but globally too. Maybe they will adjust it in a future design. I’m sure it wasn’t a blatant disregard, but more that it probably just it didn’t even occur to them. 😊

      @celestialfluttersasmr2091 Před 4 lety

      I'm from the UK and 'holiday' wouldn't sit right with us so I suppose it depends on where they sell more stock 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Really enjoyed that review. Looking for a budgeting journal. Bought one but not what am looking for. In Canada there is a financial guru a woman: she uses a jar system. Which in essence is the same kinda thing. She is way cooler and miles nicer than that dude. She can also get to the nitty gritty. I really liked her Princess series. Till debt do you part was awesome, as well!!! You if your looking for someone listen to her!!! That dude in the states super creepy. She as tough as iron but really good.

      This is why I haven't ever done the cash. It is a way of life, and people just change to do it that way. Big bills are still paid online. But the money spent most places is the cash. I suggest watching some people explain how they do it on CZcams videos with people who have done this for a long time. You might get some ideas or insights from them;)

      I pay almost all of my bills online too. I use my cash envelopes for sinking funds and my personal cash. All of the things I used to run my debit card for 10 times a day now have to be paid out of my cash envelope and it has cut WAY down on that spending because I am aware of just how much unnecessary stuff I was buying, also, when you have a strict limit of how much you can spend it is a lot harder to drink $6 coffees every day lol

    I like the planner but don’t like the fact that they already list out things for the monthly budget. None of the options really apply to me. I have a Go Girl budget planner and I like that they don’t fill out anything and give you the option to write your own monthly budget line items

    You say “you and your husband” fairly frequently throughout the video. What if a straight man is interested in using the planner? Or a gay woman? Or a single person? Respectfully, I’d suggest that you try to be more aware of your language if you don’t intend to leave out part of the population.
