@@aa4488 literally going through this right now kinda. i have a cat, moved back in with my mom because living alone is expensive, our two cats from when i was younger still live with her and now throw fits any time they smell my cat around them, which is sort of heartbreaking because he gets really excited when he smells them and wants to be best friends.
Shane's counting in German was pretty good tbh but nothing beats him standing in the middle of a haunted investigation and saying Senf! with his whole chest :D

this feels out of line but I wanted to thank this series and you guys for being a helpful tool in dealing with my alcoholism and having a healthier relationship with alcohol. went from not being able to watch it without a drink, to not being able to watch it because I wasn’t drinking, then to watching it again as a first step towards being able to hang out with friends who are drinking without wanting to myself. honestly, thank you so much

To answer Ryan’s question, yes. A boy named Dennis Martin disappeared while playing hide and seek with his dad and other kids in the 50’s or 60’s while in the Smokey Mountains.
Iirc, there was a little white girl with brown hair who went missing while playing hide n seek in the woods. It was a family camping trip. Then years later someone wrote a letter claiming they took her and kept her. Creepy stuff.

I Googled it, and found a bunch of results. Children who've disappeared, eventually been found - dead or alive - and even the William Tyrrell case started with hide and seek. Terrifying stuff.

many accounts of kids playing hide and seek and going into a confined space and suffocating or being trapped
there’s a particular story where a child went into a chest at the end of a bed and got locked in and died, very sad and dangerous

Every season, I'm reminded that they film this in Ryan's parents' backyard and I love it. How Ryan is bundled up and how Shane is not reminds me that one is from Illinois and one is from LA. Very different climates.

It also kinda bothered me that Shane missed the crucial detail that they DIDN'T hear any static! It definitely wasn't just a weird coincidental radio thing. It's too conversational.
