I love how customizable quiche is. This is a good candidate for your “Crazy” series, where you can take a single quiche recipe and make mini quiches all with different add ins!
Glad you like it! Yes, this is a forgiving recipe, substitution of ingredients is possible.
I spent AGES during lockdown teaching my husband to make quiche, I wish I had had this brilliant video, he would have learnt in half the time!

Quiche freezes really well. It's great for making a large batch, portion it out, and freeze individual servings.
There is nothing better than a Quiche in the fridge on a hot day. And they even freeze amazing. Love it. Thank you so much for sharing

Hi Gemma ❤️, I love this recipe!! My mother would take me to a little Cafe every now and again , just the 2 of us . We would always have Quiche and salads! I felt so sophisticated 😊. Now I can surprise her with a homemade Quiche ! That crust looks gorgeous 😍. Thank you for sharing the blind baking tip to avoid soggy bottom ! XXOO

Yay! Go ahead and give it a go. Here's the recipe, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-quiche-homemade/
Chicken, leek and thyme would be delicious. Love quiche.
Sounds like a good plan!
When you’re moving into a new house and all your pie plates and pie weights are at your other home…use what you have… in my case it was a cast iron pan for your pie plate and and a bunch of russet potatoes inside a crockpot inset for pie weights. So good hubby had a second piece.
I love quiche and this one looks incredible! Thank you for sharing the recipe Gemma!
My pleasure 😊 Hope you enjoy it!
Ty for sharing 😊
You are so welcome! Hope you'll give it a go. Get the recipe here, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-quiche-homemade/

YUMMY
WOW!!!
This quiche looks absolutely delicious, Gemma! Do you think this pastry crust would work using gluten free flour? These days I seem to have a lot of friends who are avoiding gluten!
Hi Gerarda. Yes, you can use a gluten free pie crust for this recipe. Check out my recipe for gluten free pie crust www.biggerbolderbaking.com/gluten-free-pie-crust-recipe/ Hope this helps.
@@biggerbolderbaking Thanks Gemma. Can I just use this buttermilk pie crust and substitute gluten free flour?
@@biggerbolderbaking Thanks for this recipe, Gemma.
Cant wait to make this soon for me can i use tofu i never had quiche before perfect for my after office meals
Yes, you can use tofu in place of meat. Hope you get to enjoy this, Ramya. Get the recipe here, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-quiche-homemade/
Was going to make a quiche today but was just too tired.....fried the eggs instead 🍳
Wonderful recipe and the end result is beautiful. Will be trying your gluten free recipe...after a nap 🤣
Hope you enjoy this!
Looks good I love quiche
I hope you'll try my recipe, Mary. Check it out here, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-quiche-homemade/
Thank you for the video
Hope you found it helpful.
My favourites TOTALLY 😋 YUMMY Have you ever used a bit of leftover oven roasted salmon?
I think I have, but not at home. Technically, you can use it in place of meat. It's a very forgiving recipe. Check it out here, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-quiche-homemade/
Gemma, your quiche look simply beautiful, and I love your new profile pic, absolutely adorable.
This quiche is very yummy
Thank you! Glad you like it!
Can you make this without a pastry crust?
Technically, you can. However, part of the flavor profile is the crust. If it is a preference, then go for it. Hope it turns out well for you.
😋
Looking to make a Quiche using your recipe. Did you use fresh mushroom?
You can use fresh mushrooms. I sauteed the fresh mushrooms first. You can use steamed, sauteed, roasted, or diced vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, kale, onions, peppers, or cherry tomatoes, as they add more flavor.
I already knew that Quiche was originated from Lorraine in France
🤩🌟💚
What are the alternatives for dairy? #veganquiche possible?
I haven't tried it, but it is possible. You can use cornstarch to thicken a dairy free cream or milk. I can't recommend measurements as I have not tested one in our kitchen, but yes, it is very much possible.
Chickpea flour was recommended as an egg substitute in the quiche Lorraine recipe. I picture the dairy could always be swapped with non-dairy milk or cream.
How can I make eggless quiche?
You can use chickpea flour, or garbanzo bean flour, sets up and binds with other ingredients while baking. It also creates a similar texture to eggs once baked. It has a very neutral flavor, so it shouldn’t overpower your quiche. I suggest adding 1 cup of chickpea flour to the cream mixture. Hope this helps.
How does sugar works too? Doesn't it melt ?
There is no added sugar in this recipe.
@@gerardacronin334 she said above pastry when it cooks you can add Rice or sugar.
@@gerardacronin334 I was wondering how does it not melt
@@FreeTheCreativity If you are referring to the material used to weigh down the crust during blind baking, Gemma was using old rice in the video, but she did mention several other ingredients that you could use, including sugar. I looked up the melting point of granulated sugar. (I found a very helpful article in Scientific American). The melting point of granulated sugar is 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore if the oven is set to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and is accurate, the sugar will not melt.
@@gerardacronin334 thank u.
