Nothing like getting the right info from the very source. The subtle shifts of these chords makes such a difference. Thank you , Mr. Kilbey and thank you Guitar Colonel for posting.
This is kind of what I think makes this song so brilliant and long-lasting......if one considers the second chord in root position as Asus4 AND the capo'd fifth position second chord as Am7 AND the bass is playing F#, would that magical second chord structure be A7sus4/F# ?
I'm so thankful for this lesson, from the man himself. It took me about a week to get the strumming patterns, and it's not perfect yet, but it passes.
I rediscovered this song recently and fell back in love with it again. Thanks for this video.
I am a LONG time church fan from the 80s and glad I found this. Where I saw it before wasn't correct.

That's the best Nigel Tufnel impersonation ever!
Steve is a bloody legend. Hilarious storyteller and a cheeky monkey.
Thank you so much for this video! The Church are so awesome and underrated. Wish more younger people knew about them.
Great video and very informative! Wish there were more videos of bands teaching how they play their own songs.
Great song... has a sound like no other...
One of their classic songs

The Church are one of my favorite bands but that Am is twisted 😊

Hi Steve!
Instead of 2 guitars some use a 12string to play by themselves but that's still not the same.
