  • In this long weekend episode we start off by going to a Sunday afternoon car show. The next morning I was up early cleaning a new set of wheels I got for the 95 K1500. Then found a 454 with a th400 for a deal I couldn't pass up. I'm still waiting on my performance motor to be built so in the mean time I can use the stock one for moch-up. I need to fit the exhaust, measure for a drive shaft and cut a hole in the hood for the carbs/scoop.

    Nice job, Dan. I can't wait until you start it up. I thought changing the cam was going to be a lot harder. You know what you're doing, and you made it look easy. Thank for letting us hang out in your shop.

    I like the big block in the car brings back many memories from beating the the firewall for the passenger side valve cover 500 dollars is a great price for the big block it almost where thats junk price with lots of work great score the flip nose is great the one we did was all steel nose welded together with rollers on front so nose would slide forward and flip one question though when converting a 4 door to a 2 door can you use new sheet metal on rear quarter for side window and all of metal from rear of front door rather than piece parts for quarter keep up the work its comming just fine.

    • @DDSpeedShop
      @DDSpeedShop  Před 5 lety +1

      Yup you can absolutely use a full quarter panel skin. They are about 1200 a side up here plus I'd still have to cut them out for the radius wheel well. So I just sectioned some pieces together

    Snowed last Friday in Minnesota-still went fishing. Decades ago I traded a clear hood scoop like yours for a SS hood with louvers for my Nova. Kid painted it and got pulled over for obstructive vision.that same night, Wanted to trade back -sorry guy,I still have the car. I would triangulate the ends of the support bar and then cross over a bar.

    stock low compression 454, just add a tunnel ram and 2x4s and what could go wrong

      That motor is basically a mock up. Besides tunnel rams can be very streetable even on a mild motor.

      @@davenobody8565 I've tried it on a near stock 350 68 Camaro and it ran better stock with a junk Quaderjet but then built the same 350 with 11.5 to 1 pistons 375 heads and Crane ss310 cam and the tunnel ram worked great

    Dude , Great job you are doing with the 55. Those front wheels Look SO Good like they were made for it . and as Good as the Big Block looks with the Tunnel Ram. I would forget that Scoop . and Use Breathers or Stacks instead, Back to the Wheels dont know if you got he Same back ones . But I would paint them the Same color as the Car . Thats If it was Mine . I want to see what you do . So far Great Work. Wish I was there to Help you . Then maybe you could help me Im by myself too.
