Previous video (spontaneous boat adventure)➡️ • River Cruise Adventure...
We met another friendly local who offered to show us around his village in Sarawak Malaysia. The lovely and unique village was near a small town called Mukah, in which we stopped for a night during our Borneo Malaysia road trip. It ended up being a super interesting and fun experience in this village!

3:45 That smells come from the rotting sago trunks. If it smells, chances are there are sago grubs in it! 😁 I find the sago grubs is becoming common now. He should have you guys try the kejumah/kenyumah/temilok. 😆 Maybe you might find it in your upcoming Indonesia travel.
8:45 Ah yes, chickens... I remember that case in France where the chicken named Maurice was sued for crowing loudly early in the morning. 🤣🤣🤣 In this region, I think chickens and their crowing are part and parcel of life.
9:10 Ken, ironwood is so strong even termite wouldn't go near.
9:23 Not just flooding but also high tides and king tides.
10:05 Those sago pearls are Melanau staples, same with 'linut' (known as ambuyat in Brunei and Sabah). The Melanau inhabit an area that is not suitable for paddy planting but the swampy and waterlog area has plenty of sago trees. The process of making those sago pearls is pretty tedious and time consuming...
Very lucky to meet Benedict! Shout out to him!

Interesting story about the burial tomb really unique 👍 beautiful background of the river and landscapes.. whoaa not in a million years for me to eat the sago worm 😢 I could be traumatized 😅 love the fresh prawns and immediately cook with noodles hmm...made me hungry on the spot 🤣 hope you guys had a great time and as usual you always give some token in cash as your appreciation which is a very wise thing to do 👍👍 like always see you in the next Ken 👍🥰⭐️

That village looks quite similar to the village you, Steve and Ivana visited during your roadtrip to Perlis, right? The houses are built on silts and beautifully painted with different colours. Yeah, during high tide, the sea water can flow to/flood the village, that's why the houses there are built on silts.
Oh gosh, those sago worms scare me. By looking at them already give me an eeeeerie feeling, what more to eat them.... lt's a big NO for me 😂🤣😂🤣

In this case it is d village of d Melanau people in d northern part of d Sarawak region and their village or kampung life, some part of their tradition, culture and food which i guess many here and also d outside world might not know of ... It is certainly an off d beaten path that not many foreign tourists had gone to i believe .... Good job .... Good and informative content indeed ....

When visiting Malaysia, especially the charming villages, you’ll encounter many locals who offer goods at remarkably low prices due to their genuine kindness. While these deals may seem inexpensive, especially considering foreign exchange rates, I encourage you not to take advantage of their generosity. If you can, consider paying a bit more than what they ask; your extra contribution is a small gesture that can make a big difference to the local sellers. Remember, supporting local businesses not only helps sustain their livelihoods but also reciprocates the warm hospitality they offer to all visitors. Let’s show your appreciation and ensure a positive impact during your travels!

Hi Ken, Since Malaysia and Indonesia are both Moslem, can make videos reguarding milk from cows? Do they inject hormones into cow to produce more milk? Thanks,

Hello Ken, how's it going? I didn't see you in Jetlag's & Dodo's noodle episode. Where have you been? Btw, as a Sarawakian myself if you eat that sagu worm alive, you have my respect.😁. But if you don't want to,then don't force yourself. Stay safe & healthy in your travelling adventure.

@@idawan09 None of that btw. If you ever tried to chew on coconut fruit inner skin, it kinda tastes like that. Bcoz coconut and sagu plant is quite close related.😁
