I was very lucky, I just felt weak for a day or two, had a headache for a couple of days, and didn't have a good sense of taste and smell for a couple of months. I don't know what long-term effects, if any, I have from that strike, as I never went to a doctor about it since I didn't feel substantially unwell after the fact. I'll never forget the sound, or the light so bright everything was dark for a very short period after the strike, though. Thunderstorms still make me very anxious, and I'm a lot more careful about making sure I'm inside, and stood on dry ground, during storms than I was before the strike.

The brain gets stuck on that path and causes the body to act oddly. For instance, if someone without this disorder were to get mad, they might feel some stress, make angry faces, and yell, but someone with this disorder might experience more uncontrollable movements, brain fog, and even passing out episodes as well as experiencing these emotions. I hope this makes sense.

They explicitly stated his blindness was 'hysterical' meaning they already knew there was nothing physically wrong with his vision and it had a sudden onset, thus it could not be cataracts. Unless you mean you assumed that prior to watching the video and not after.

His hearing aid might have fallen off when he fell and got fried when residual electricity traveled around the area.
