I like how dan goes 'finally, a bingo!", no one tell him it was the one moment where the bingo is rigged and scripted to always be a win.
Aw, that's a bit of a bummer. Cool thing for them to include in the game though! Gives everyone this moment of "woah! it finally happened!" right during the big final fight
Actually I saw people saying it, but it could’ve easily been interpreted as a joke.
In hindsight, I should’ve known. One of the reasons why I thought it wasn’t rigged was because in my own playthrough I kept dying afterwards. It seemed embarrassing to keep dying when the game gives you a bingo. Also, I was more successful at getting bingos throughout the game, so I just assumed I nailed it down each and every time 😂
@@MonobrobeI was in the same boat as i had gotten shine bingos down to a T by that point due to how easy it was to time.
So THAT'S why I almost died in the fight. I had a mega rush yoshi and was doing well until I attempted to fail the bingo. I guess I know now to bring more than one trial stew next time.

Man, the writing in this game is just HEAVENLY for a Nintendo game. There’s thinly-veiled violence that just can’t bring itself to say “kill”, fourth wall breaks, the whole feet-sniffing thing, the dialogue between Vivian and her sisters is actually incredibly brutal, and stuff like when the ravens talk to each other is just hilarious. Not to mention the “shaking what my momma gave me” line
I'd say most of the Paper Mario games are like that (Excluding sticker star for the most part) but it is certainly good in this game

[26:17] For those who don't know - YES, this gag is actually from the original. This is a game written 20 years ago, and that joke somehow aged in the most cursed way possible.
Actually, I'm slightly disappointed by one thing: The remake cut out an extra line of dialogue where Hooktail -admitted- claimed that people paid her money for this exact "privilege."
At least they made up for it by implying that Koops's dad was interested in her feet as well.

@@skin_rg That, and actually referring to Hooktail as female consistently. In the original version, a bunch of characters refer to Hooky as "he" or "him," which I _guess_ is an accurate portrayal of how you wouldn't be able to tell a dragon's gender at first glance, but MAN was it confusing.
They replaced that second line with Koops' Father being the one to take the offer.

Throughout Mario's life, he has never declined Peach's invitation. Mario might have other stuff to do but he drops it whenever Peach invites him.
I mean he might... but he probably doesn't, I don't think we ever see him interrupt something to come save her at the start of any games. Unless some loremaster wants to correct me.

RT not doing a stylish until chapter 2, after skipping the stylish tutorial and making fun of all the tutorials in the prologue, is pretty funny to me.

That hit close to home. I've been familiar with this game since it came out, and have been playing it for at least a decade, and didn't realize "Stylish" existed until my playthrough from about two years ago.
I didn’t do a stylish until chapter 3 or 4, I think. The only reason I did the tutorial was to figure out how to do stylishes and superguards but the tutorial never fully explains what stylish moves are.
What does that even do? I have yet to see anyone do the tutorial or even explain anything. People just keep doing backflips. _Why?_

This game reminds me of the time when I was a kid, I saw an ad on a website that said "get a free copy of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door!" and it was one of those survey sites that had more surveys nested inside with "free trials" in each one. I filled out EVERY SINGLE ONE and got to the end and entered my home address to get the game copy. It's been 20 years. I did everything they asked. I never got it.

I woke up this morning feeling pretty awful physically but I didn’t have a fever so I went to work anyways. I am a VOD watcher and I was so confused when a comment said something about a chipmunk voice. Then that moment assassinated me.
RT's playthroughs are always either super wholesome or an absolute riot, and you can usually tell from the first twenty seconds or so which one it'll be.
"I can't read shit, Mario! Look at her handwriting! It's so high-def this time around that you _really_ can tell how unreadable it is!"
Funny enough, the writing on signs and other stuff, someone _actually_ figured out what most of it says (like the Dolphic language from Mario Sunshine). Peach's letter? No [CZcams.]ing clue.
I find it really interesting how the names of the characters vary between languages, even though It usually doesn't really matter. For example, Mario's wrestling name in German is "Bomba Luigi"

I always assumed it was because of Yoshi. That’s the only reason I liked the chapter. I didn’t like the slog through the battles.
Easily my most hated chapter. So little exploration, so little story. You spend most of your time stuck in the same ~3 rooms doing fight after fight after fight, with only short breaks of anything interesting in between every few fights. You could easily half the number of arena fights and lose nothing for it, it is just a pointless slog.

To answer the poster dilemma, think of it as Life-sized cut-outs, but instead it's a Life-sized Print-out. Worst case scenario is that it's like the Harry Potter News papers, except worse depending on how they do the printing. Posters could be prisons for clones, or come to life if the original dies like how 1-ups make a new Mario instead of being back the original. Creates some implications, most not good.

By the way, during a power bounce, the jump timing gets slowly increasingly more difficult, except that the fourth jump randomly goes down to a ONE FRAME WINDOW before returning to the normal timing progression.

@@friedtoads13 Mementos lets you instakill lower level enemies, so it was just a quick run through each floor. Also, it's split into multiple mini sections, so you don't have to do them all at once (100 trials is 100 floors of mostly weaker enemies. The new enemies in the final 20ish floors are reskins)
100 trials could have been spiced up had there been more random events other than the mover, and/or bosses thrown into the mix

I'm so happy they fixed Vivian's dialogue in this remake. Before, they changed the line about how her sisters used to bully her and calling her their brother even though she was their sister. This line, while seemingly tiny, is a pretty big deal to the trans community as it implies that Vivian is trans. A lot of trans women, such as myself, really relate.
