man i love this channel ,he is truely setup like 90% of us will be spraying..no fancy controlled spray booth and still the technique is there and amazing paintb jobs...thank u
I have the original black widow HT it’s a decent gun I’ve used it strictly for clear it’s the same as my Sata it’s a very slow sprain, fine, atomizing gun. I also have the spectrum HTE, the blue gun and it sprays about the same as the black widow, you can spray a little bit faster than the black widow with the cheaper spectrum gun, they’re close to my Iowa supernova close, but not as good but for do it yourself painter at home in the garage they’re outstanding guns for the price and honest, I’ve sprayed with my black widow every single day multiple times, being a professional painter in a body shop and it’s held up well through two years
It's a very nice gun. Well worth the money. Well built. Should last a long time if kept clean. I like it alot for metallics. Has a nice wide even fan. Does pretty good for clear👍
All the spectrum guns are nice l had the regular HTE spectrum and did over 30 cars and didn't even need to cut and buff,, but the widow HTE kick's ass with clear so now I use the regular HTE for base coat and widow for clear and putting out beautiful paint jobs right out the door from the booth.
Hi Chris, always love your reviews as you give us an unbiased opinion on the gun you are testing and this one is no exception, although this gun has never been available in the UK I've seen quite a few reviews on it and everyone seems to like the way it sprays and you got an amazing finish with it so it will be interesting to see how you get on with it👍 Not sure if you know Chris but there is something funky going on with the sound when you are in the workshop and talking to the camera the sound comes out of one channel only, when you do a voiceover it's fine, just thought it worth a mention brother👌👍John UK
Ok thanks Chris, it wasn't a huge problem but thought it worth a mention, pleased to hear it was an easy fix for you👌 Love your channel and looking forward to your next video🙏👍
So many complain about the swivel that's foolish, it's a great feature, you don't need to keep looking at the gauge, best way to spray is set your wall regulator I've found..
@@GarageNoise too each there own,, l noticed the benefit right away no more hose twist, my regular spectrum HTE does a great job but doesn't have the wide pattern widow has but it really fogs up my Booth at home without down draft exhaust,, so l use my regular spectrum HTE for base, it's also a great gun as l said I did over 30 cars and only one had to be cut and buffed and I just started painting cars 6 months ago, l just bought another regular spectrum HTE because it was on sale for 100 dollars,,
@@GarageNoise just throwing out a little tip on a Sherwin Williams primer I just tried from there sunfire pro line SU521 dtm primer and can be used as a sealer that stuff kicks butt over the fp410
I really think I just got too much of a hurry. I do have an exhaust fan that's in my building. It's as smaller exhaust fan and of course, it doesn't do exactly what I need but it is sufficient
Most spec sheets and name brand guns say start 2.5 to 3 turns out on fluid as if it goes even further. However my black widow only has 2 fluid turns total, all the way in to all the way out. Seems weird
If You're painting a whole car you want as much c. FM as possible, but if you're just doing a spot job a fender a door, you can get by with Less CfM. A smaller compressor like a 30 gallon compressor that produce 8 cf. M. At 60PSI would be sufficient. I have some videos on my channel that show Me using this gun with a small compressor. czcams.com/video/YNHN07OrAwM/video.htmlsi=otkLQSSgcBQG2QOi
I just purchased a BW spray gun and looking forward to try it with clearcoat. I was wondering if yu have a source fr the cups and liners besides Harbor Freight? Thanks for your review
@@darylvoorhees2629 I use the original series cup system. the adapter for the series 1.0 is sold at harbor freight. If your looking for the series 2.0 adapter, then I'm not sure.
I spoke with harbor freight several times through emails and spoke to them about how can you put out a product without having repair parts and upgrades. The 1.7 is what you are stuck with for 200.00. I bought Master elite pro 88 which gets great reviews. It was the same price but 2 different tips and cup
I bought the black widow 2.0 1.7 tip I guess thats only good for primers ive been told So with the 1.3 tip HTE i can do base and clear coat??? Great videos thank you for the information
You can't get replacement parts or different needles like 1.4 for the new guns. I spoke to harbor freight Corp and they confirmed it only have parts for older guns

Good info, appreciate the comment and support!
If anybody is looking for the fitting to delete the swivel inlet fitting use a Devilbiss AD-31
Good info thanks!
I just use a cable tie to hold both nuts in place to eliminate that swivel.and it works. Easy

It's most definitely a good paint gun.
Esta pistola la he usado en clear coat y es una maravilla exelente finish la recomiendo

it is a nice gun thanks chris
You got it!
Great video. Going to buy one of these to upgrade from my HF Green gun.
Very smooth gun for the price. Had a coupon got mine for 145
I like the hf green gun
How well does it spray metallic and pearls? Does it atomize well enough to help with mottling on difficult colors?
So many complain about the swivel that's foolish, it's a great feature, you don't need to keep looking at the gauge, best way to spray is set your wall regulator I've found..

I think so too

Hey there garage noise have you heard of the new spray gun called porpoise 717 I seen a review that trigger man did not want to check out that gun
I am wondering if the heat lamps were the cause of your dust issues. Nice review
It was more because it was the end of the day and I was rushing a bit too much
body shops always have a detailer after painting j.lulo
Hello there.great info and channel.would like to know how do I get to test those guns out.thanks.im in South Africa, Cape Town.
Where are you located ? And what temperature is your room where you spray I just got this gun and want a nice finish on black paint
It was about 50-60 degrees on this day
Were was the dust coming from what kind of setup u got as far as pulling air?
I really think I just got too much of a hurry. I do have an exhaust fan that's in my building. It's as smaller exhaust fan and of course, it doesn't do exactly what I need but it is sufficient
So whats the cheapest compressor from harbor freight that can handle it thanks

I noticed that on some guns. I just test it it myself. I never kept track on my psi or fluid volume till I started CZcams .
So you'll need 12 cfm compressor to use it?

Ever have any issues running the kerosene ready heaters while spraying?
No I haven't, but is is a concern because of the open flame and fumes. I do my best to try not to .

You can't get replacement parts for these new guns. I called and they don't have any upgrades or replacement parts.
I wonder if that's because there fairly new
