Upgrading from an S20+. Literally just paid it off this month, and I told myself that I was going to keep this phone for a while to save on unnecessary costs.... but these fold phones have enticed me for over a year now and I simply couldn't resist

Exactly the same situation here. I've been saying I'll hold off for the first time, not upgrading as soon as possible because I was salty about the Note range being discontinued, but then just paid off my Note 20 and ordered the Fold 5 last night 😆😅

I actually came from an iphone 12 pro max. I have to admit that battery on samsung still sucks. I had 3 samsung phones before my first iphone.
Now this is my first foldable and i meeeeeeeean. I LOVE IT. I'm not just random bot. Random person, yes. Not random bot.
I was defending apple a lot and bla bla you know the deal. Now having it for a couple days and i will not going back to a normal sized phone. I love it.

The Fold 5's new slim s-pen mostly functions like the ones in the Note phones (and never needed charging), but must be near the screen. However, gestures or camera shutter functionality is probably missing... you would probably need the thicker, rounder pen to do that, and I am going to assume that those thicker ones wouldn't fit the slim case slit.

TK, I currently using a galaxy fold 3, I due an upgrade end of the month, torn between getting the s23 ultra or the fold 5. Which do you think is the better phone s23 ultra or fold 5?
it's basically down to preference/what you value more. S23 ultra is the better phone in terms of hardware, software and camera as it's a flagship phone. but the Fold has the only (but obviously significant) advantage of literally being a 2 in 1 tablet and phone (and hardware/software/camera is probably good enough for most)

The wallpapers that I have are typically from a game called dragon Ball Legends or from an app available directly on the Google Play store called Zedge

How do you get that goku screensaver or background?
I been using my samasung 7 edge for I think over 10 years the phone server me very well. Even now the picture quality is some of the best when compared to people who buy phones for 200-300 Eur. but I need a upgrade and I will most likely get the Samsung S23 Ultra I think the Z Fold 5 looks nice but just the smaller battery and a lot worse quality camera with the higher price is pushing me away from getting the fold type. I will wait another 4-6 years and maybe later on I will get the fold samsung phone
I don't seem to have good lock in my area for download. But man I want to use that multi star function so I can close my phone and keep it on the screen I was using.

How do you have different layout on lock and home using nova?
The layout is the same it's just compressed and stretched out on the two different displays. I wish Nova would support two different layouts
@@TKBay This is, why i use the standard launcher. If nova do this, i switch to nova... (used nova over years on a S10).

I go into the settings for default launcher apps and I switch it from there, also once you install Nova prime if you go into the settings it has a shortcut to that option

I swear, regardless of its issues, going back to a non fold would feel like going back to one monitor on the pc.

I do love a lot about my fold five but the lag is very noticeable and I've used all the old tricks to get it to process faster but it just won't in certain situations

I'm a little disappointed that Samsung held out on Z Fold 5 color choices for me to pick from right after I placed my pre-order of Icy Blue. Had I had the option to pick sooner, I'd pick the silver color. 😢

Just a note, if you're the sorta person that likes to buy there phone instead of pay monthly, or if you'd prefer a slightly cheaper contract, check out the Z Fold 4 aswell, that's what I have and it's EXCELLENT. Doesn't seem to be too many differences either!
I just got the Z Fold 5 - Verizon and T-Mobile (and I am sure others) are giving$1,000 off with trade-in. I had an old iPhone 7 laying around and they gave me $1,000 off.
But after this promotion is off, I am sure the Z Fold 4 will be just as nice!
The price of fold 4 and 5 in my country is almost the same, so i went and buy the fold 5
And the 8 gen 2 is far more superior in battery efficiency and smoothness than the 8+gen1. My brother uses the fold 4 and got 7hrs++ SoT, but my fold 5 got 9hrs++ SoT. So i think that is quite a huge improvement than its predecessor. The new soc is a beast and runs cool even when in heavy use, whereas the fold 4 got a little bit hot when in heavy uses.

@@PauIieWalnuts yeah it has been a feature for a while now. Even on other Android devices. For Samsung it's usually in the advanced feature > gestures.

I have a Note20Ulta and want a fold. But I listen to CZcamsr and they say: "best Samsung foldable" "latest software" "New hinge"... The software and hinge are standard in new phones. No one says "this is the best foldable in every category today". I feel I am downgrading the front screen by no pen and shape and downgrading the camera. For $2000 USD I should not have to downgrade anything.
I am back on the fence waiting for the Honor V2 to come to Canada or Samsung to match it.

I have a Note 20 ultra 5G and there is noticeable lag on the Fold 5. I hate it. No amount of tinkering with settings could fix it. Have already registered my return to Samsung. I have until the 27th. If the lag can be fixed, I'm still not sure I'd keep it

@@Steviek1234 The lag occurred when I selected a photo from my gallery and then used "share" and then "messages". The lag was so bad because the list wasn't populating and I thought the feature was broken. It just turns out that it was a terrible delay.
However, after the recent update it's immediate that after you do share and then message, the message list pops up
