- Here's an F1 onboard lap at the Montjuic street circuit located on the Montjuic mountain in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Today we do the hotlap around the track with Carlos Sainz, the only Spaniard currently on the grid, in his F1 2020 McLaren MCL35, driven in Assetto Corsa.
This circuit has hosted the Spanish Grand Prix 4 times, with the last one being in 1975, after a controversial and tragic racing weekend that saw the death of four spectators during the race.
This track definitely feels like the Spanish Monaco, as it's a tricky and twisty track to drive on.

I see the old track un my city “Barcelona”
Me: Oooooo let’s see this
It's a shame that F1 didn't race in Montjuic until 1971 because the lack of money. This could have been the opposite of Monaco, very fast corners and a very wide track.
I dream of a race in my city and this is the best layout you can possibly make. I think they should consider moving the Spanish GP to Montjuic, Montmelo doesn't provide great racing because they have lots of data of the track and the layout isn't really good.
1969 was the first F1 race there
@@stephenyates962 Yes I forgot hehehe. 1969, 71, 73 and 75.
This track is so beautiful 😍😍
It was one of the most threadbare circuits of the time, and very technical. It is an honor that I am in my beloved city Barcelona. I love it!
It is lovely, but outdated, and downright dangerous as well 😁 Gorgeous location though - I love Montjuic mountain
beatiful yes but dangerous fast no run off areas
tires are like screaming: HELP ME!!!! in every corner
I would like to see jarama next. In the early 70s montjuic and jarama alternated
Absolutely phenomenal, love that I can live in such a time that I can see such a spectacle before me!
Uau 😃 ! Amazinhg vídeo! Insane track !!
One of the best street circuits of all time. Far better than Saudi, Baku, or even Catalunya.
Shame they were treated so badly by F1 otherwise it could have remained on the F1 calendar and would now be considered a historic venue.
Yeah very good track, but also very dangerous. Fatal accidents in 1974-75 caused the safety of the track to be questioned
@@c12434 spectators death, not a single driver, also the crash happened cause the rear wing fell of, hard to only blame the track
@@tiutubanana7506 I'm mostly talking about 1974, where 2 fatal accidents happened only a few weeks apart and the safety of the track caused them. They weren't F1 accidents, but they still were caused by the lack of safety
Thanks for making this. This has to be one of the best street circuits, even better than Pau. I say that because the streets are a little wider, but just as twisty and hilly, and the park-like setting is pretty. It's even good from a safety aspect because the downhill corners are slow and twisty while the uphill corners are more flat out. It should definitely come back for a slower category.
I think it would be a cool F2 race to be honest, I would love to see F1 return to it but I think there were safety concerns with the track but in the 70s. Not too sure about that but it would definitely be more exciting than Barcelona.
@@Mitsos1311 Bro, I'm not telling you this, a Spanish youtuber said: If you cut yourself in Monaco, with the possible security measures. Why not Montjuic?
Really good video, would like to see shougang Motorsport valley its a track that runs between an old chinese steel factory.
That pitlane entry looked really dangerous
well, it was
You were only supposed to hit the pits to retire back then (Goodwood still uses that kind of pits)
This track looks like something you would see in Gran Turismo, amazing!
And I thought that I was the only who noticed this, it really remembers something from Gran Turismo 2 or even Gran Turismo 4...
most dangerous street circiut ever
00:06/01:14 "La Rasante" /" The Flush"
I did it with bike só many times this summer.
Víctor from Efeuno said it'd be a good idea to bring F1 back to this circuit. I don't know you, but I'd definitely sign up for that.
If a Spanish street circuit should come back in the calendar, then Pedralbes would be better. As much gradient, but wider, better opportunities for overtaking and faster too.
@nathanwilliams2152 Unfortunately Pedralbes first turn is a motorway crossroad, so it's impossible to make that right hand hairpin.
for almost a minute I didn't realize it was not real life, damn
This is like Monaco on acid!
now thats a proper street circuit
THIS should have been the Europe GP instead of that square that was the Valencia Street Circuit
@Taizu Motorsport And Monaco, Baku and Singapore aren't?
Its very unrealistic but if they race at monaco and managed to fit an f1 in Zandvoort it doesn't seem farfetch to have a
race here, otherwise formula e having a race here is quite realistic
Unruly Rhyme I can imagine Formula e racing here, it’d be a spectacle to watch.
I think it was abandoned after a big crash in 1975 that killed some spectators
This track was dangerous by *1970’s* standards. No way would this have been safe in the mid 2000s.
Pau street circuit please
so, WIDE monaco

He just published a video with this racetrack.
Old day Baku circuit
Onboard proposal: Anderstorp (Only circuit to have held an official F1 grand prix in Scandinavia) by Kevin Magnussen (Only current Scandinavian driver in the grid)
I don't know🤔... But I think that Kimi is from Mars. At least, in Ivan's mind.🤣🤣
(It is only a joke😉, keep calm guys!! Of course that Kimi is Finish and Scandinavian!)
@Jonathan Bovier true, it's not Scandinavian peninsula, but culturally Denmark is very much Scandinavian, just like Portugal is culturally Mediterranean without actually touching the Mediterranean sea.
@@fabiopaulino2851 Kimi can be from wherever he wants to be.
But Denmark and Finland, while they are both Nordic and not Scandinavia since the Scandinavian peninsula only covers up Sweden and Norway, have a thing separating them, culture and history. Denmark has a North Germanic language, similar to Swedish and Norwegian, while Finnish is a Finno-Ugric language, and until the late 19th or even early 20th Century, other Nordic peoples like Swedes, Norwegians and Danes barely considered Finns to be part of the Nordic countries, let alone Scandinavian ones.
So yes, I'd say all things considered, Kimi and Valtteri aren't as much Scandinavian as Kevin is.
looks like gt track
Dont tell me youre from greece
Μα και βέβαια είμαι 🙂
