- A Fixers campaign led by Frances Ryan and her team from Glasgow: www.fixers.org....
A group of young people, who have type 1 diabetes, want to help medical professionals understand the daily challenges they face.
The team from Glasgow hope to highlight the effort it takes to monitor and manage their condition, which is caused by a lack of insulin in the body and is kept under control by checking blood glucose, taking medication and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
My girlfriend has type one and I want to be able to be there for her and fully understand what she’s going through so I’m watching all the videos I can and reading up on it
You're a great BF
Great supportive BF
omg this is so sweet
Sweet🙏🙏
Need raise more awareness👍👍👍
Great video, my son has type 1 ,he was 11 when he got diagnosed he is 22 now it is a huge life change ,not only for them but the family also, let's make type one type none
I've had diabetes (type 1) for around 4 years now, as a young boy, it can be a bit different. My Schedule is this: Wake up, do whatever, check my bloods, then in around like 30 minutes, I have a breakfast of 39g (a waffle and coffee), and then the day goes on as normal, usually a few lows, or highs, but I always get through. Most meals I have are usually 39g, 34g, 20-110g and around 40 for snack time. I use an insulin pump, and we also have the same finger pricker!
I use glucojuice, glucotabs or some random sugary thing for my lows, For my HIGHS I take water, some corrections, and run around a bit.
A low usually makes me hungry, moody, and stressed.
A high usually makes me moody, stressed and thirsty. I also use a Sensor, it makes life MUCH easier!
New type one guy here.I do hope everybody can cheer up and wait for final cure in the future!Let's goooooo!!!
I've been Type 1 for 59 years. I'd highly recommend getting a CGM. It makes your life much easier, in terms of diabetes management. No more finger-pricks!
Felt like i was looking at my life
omg same

I’m thankful my mental arithmetic skills are good. Diagnosed with LADA 2 years ago aged 47 and working in hospital pharmacy plus attending a T1 diabetes Ed course 6 mo after diagnosis has really given me the knowledge and skills to deal with this positively.
I have type one diabetes and it can be stressful sometimes but I leaned to live with it.
I have had D for 11 years -- since I was 2 yrs old. I wish there were videos like this in Hungarian also that I could share with people around me.

*You Did Not Choose To Be Classified As Diabetic, But You Can Choose To Fight Back Against Diabetes* 💪
I choose to think of it as not a foe but a friend
@@Mano1207_ i dont think about it at all
Do people still prick their fingers to take blood samples? Why dont everyone use a continuous glocose monitor? Do people still inject themselves with insulin? Why does not everyone use an insulin pump?
2:22 he has a flippable height of water!
Ok i won't complain about my life after this, thank god i don't have to do this every single day.
Personally from someone with t1d, you kinda just get used to it lol. With new technology life with t1d is getting closer to how it was before.
@@hoyoversekindasucks I can't even imagine someone with t1d back in the old days, especially back back then before modern civilization 😦
@@hoyoversekindasucks i wish someone find a cure for it....ive got ibs which isn't serious, but still can't live a normal life
@@irun_mon back then you just died. We are lucky to be in an era where this is something that can be treated. Honestly, everything is painless, the only thing i'm still struggling with is the balancing act of trying to fine tune my doses since they change for every hour of the day.
@@mynameisjeff6988 what about when you're asleep? you don't have to worry about it or you need to wake up every few hours?
Feel ya bro
I also have the contour+
Omg we have the same insulin pen
I'm a Type 1 diabetic, I do think people need to be more educated some people think diabetes is a lifestyle disease but Type 1 and Type 2 are different, Type 2 is a lifestyle disease and Type 1 is an autoimmune disease. Type 2 can be reversed if you eat well and is easier to manage in a tablet form unfortunately that's not the case for Type 1's you cannot reverse it its a life sentence, you have to nurse it, its a 24/7 disease it can be a hard, it makes life more challenging but you have no choice but to live with it. Hope there will be a cure one day 🙏
We have same routine
This is a good video.
This was actually well done, gj.
This is fantastic video. I would like to use it in a course I am writing about Diabetes. Getting the perspective of a person who lives with diabetes would be useful for my students, would you mind if I use it?
My two sisters and cousin has it
this is a really good and heplful vid!
Hi I'm a type 1 diabetic. I'm doing a project at school to show the year what it's like. Do you mind if I use this video?
Sense I have type 1 aswell
Yes please use it! (sorry for late reply... hope it goes well!)
I have type 1
@@francesryan2428 It was a while ago but went well, thanks!!
@@archiewatters2277 nice! Check out my diabetic insta @type1diabeticpilot 👍
So I have type 1 and I just want a question answered for me as I’ve never gotten the information. I’ve had it for 5 months so I’m not as amazing as others. If you’ve taken your night time insulin and then want something to eat during the night, is it safe to do day/fast acting insulin after you’ve done your night one? Because last time I did that I threw up but the diabetic team didn’t really think much of it.
It depends lots for factors come into play. Your question isn’t a just Yes or No.
I find that right after my long lasting night injection my sugars will drop much quicker with fast acting insulin if used soon after, so inject a slight smaller dose for the food
easier said than done.
I think I might have diabetes because I feel like I'm always tired, I'm always thirsty, I'm dizzy and I have blurred vision most of the time
get yourself tested then, it's a quick test !
Felt like I was doing it
How come you have to count carbs? I don’t have diabetes but I count protein because I believe protein is more important then carbs.
it doesn't matter what is more 'important', I wouldn't say protein is more important than carbs, I would say they both matter equally, the reason is glucose has carbohydrates in it
you have tp count carbs because carbs raise your blood sugar, and the two inputs of carbs and insulin have to be in balance. So with the pancreas not producing insulin, a diabetic1 person needs to know the number of carbs eaten, to balance them with insulin injections.
@@S9999Frank interesting.
The carbs increase blood Sugars, to parallel this we use insulin so we have to use a ratio to figure out how much insulin we need. This helps us keep our blood sugar in range so we don't die! :D
carbs are a bitch, a bowl of pasta raises my glucose more than 3 cans of coke cola
I don’t know what I would have done without your help. Thank you so much for curing my Diabetes’s Type 2 with your herbs Dr Igudia.
That is a murano student halls room from glagow uni. Ur not allowed fridges in the room, naughty boy. Did I just completely miss the entire point of this video?
erin louise last name We think you might have unfortunately. Well done on spotting which student hall it was filmed in - very eagle eyed of you. Regarding the fridge Connor (who's room it was), needs to keep his insulin in a fridge so therefore Glasgow uni has made accommodations for this. We hope that by watching the film you'll be able to better understand the needs of someone with type 1 diabetes. Best wishes, The Comms team
God bless now and always Dr Igudia. And I really wanted to say a very big thanks for helping me cure my type 2 diabetes I thought it was the end until I meant you keep saving lives doctor.
I got diabetes when I was 7
being recommended to doctor Igudia on CZcams has being a great blessing to my family his cure for Type 2 Diabetes is a genuine one thanks for your good deed toward humanity
type 2 diabetes is already totally cured and type 1 diabetics are still stuck with insulin injections checking blood sugar 10 times a day, insulin pumps and the hope of being cured
Ahmad Ahmad Thank you for taking the time to comment. Please see www.justduk1t.org.uk/ or www.diabetes.org.uk/ for more information. Fixers is an any issue charity and therefore we are not experts. Our young people base their resources on their own experiences. Best wishes, The Comms team
+Ahmad Ahmad I can't stand the misunderstanding between type 1 and type 2 either, but type 2 is not cured. If it was cured it wouldn't be around and we wouldn't be confused for having it.
+Reck ed dear reck type 2 diabetes is surely cured through a very easy operation that doesn't take more than 30 minutes. This operation is related to the stomach. when this operation is done type 2 diabetes will be totally cured. And when I say type 2 diabetes I mean the one that relies on pills not injections ( insulin)
+Ahmad Ahmad If that was true everyone with type 2 would have this operation and there wouldn't be metformin and other type 2 drugs. It's not cured.
+Reck ed go to any doctor who is specialized in diabetes and you may ask him about this .... And you will know the truth ... If this cure was known by everyone ,hospitals will suffer from long waiting lists of patients who want to have this operation.
Type1 mum here, at least it's manageable. You guys are hereos

Times used to be very Challenging, I had the worst days of my life living with Diabetes, I appreciate you so much Dr Igudia, You have restored me my life that was lost already . Thank you so much for curing me of my diabetes with your natural Herbs.
I have a friend with diabetes
He has a lot of coke in school
Type 1 diabetes is often misunderstood as a result of overeating sugary snacks, but it is actually an immune disease unrelated to diet. People with type 1 diabetes can eat anything a non-diabetic can eat and should not be ridiculed for their food choices. Let's dispel these misconceptions and offer support and understanding instead.
