To anyone watching this, yes please do anonaly ratting in a marauder. Put on the most expensive modules you can find, stay in bastion mode, and don't worry if a neutral or two show up in system. Totally worth the investment and risk.

This was everything but smooth. You had neut in the system... your cap was all gone... your armor was dangerously low...

I love my Sniper Kronos. In null just keep your eye on D Scan and it isn’t so bad. But my heals do almost half my armor per tick while cap stable.

My experience with null ratting is that it makes less money than mining. However, you can make it efficient. The most efficient ships I know are the ishtar and the myrmidon, but the Kronos would be great... except for the pesky neuts. It's worth enough to be a tempting target, and there's no worse feeling to have just started a bastion cycle and see a neut in system. That said, it clears rats FAST. Even a straight T2 fit with plain antimatter ammo in the rails does it in roughly half the time of the drone ships. Starting in antimatter range is also good for your drones which can take out the little stuff leaving more room in the fit for cap stability and tank. If you stick to the forsaken hubs, you won't see a dread spawn, which can really ruin your day in a haven. My ratting routine is two MTUs and thus two sites, then dock up and come back with a Catalyst and salvage/scoop everything. Leave the Kronos on field for as little time as possible and don't feed the gankers. Fly safe man.
Neutral in the system, please do not undock if you are flying an expensive ratting ship
The Cruise Missile Golem is the king of solo ship null ratting. Mount a MJD and kill stuff from 200k out. Minimal tank needed and can fucus on damage holes with missiles. I also mount a burst jammer 2 and ecm drones in case anything tries to burn out to me. It runs rock havens in about 12min and gas havens in around 20.
The double spawns happen when someone doesn't finish the site, then downtime happens and that's how the doubles are made. Unfinished sites.
It is indeed pretty effective to rat in a marauder in nullsec, but I really wouldn't recommend a fit like this. with so much tank sacrificed to damage/tracking modules you struggled to even clear the rats without running out of capacitor, and the resulting damage numbers are solid, but not exactly amazing given this is a marauder, due to running a sniper fit. It's easy enough to fit cap stable and rep much higher than this, and still do even more damage, by fitting a blaster/other short range fit. If your goal when warping in at 100 is to avoid ganks, it would be more reasonable to use intel channels to keep track of neutrals and get out of space when they are in system, as there is always the risk of them scanning you down directly rather than warping to the signature. If you must use a sniper fit, at least drop one of the tracking enhancers for multispectrum armor, and swap the rigs for things that help tank better like auxiliary nano pumps or thermal resist bonuses.You should be able to snipe the frigates as they burn in, but even if you don't a smartbomb or two will do you much better than a stasis grappler, which would make room for more capacitor assistance or a MJD to escape tricky situations. Paladin, Vargur, and Golem all have more lenient ranges on their short range guns, and golem can hit the resist hole for Guristas better than the other options, but at that point the question of "why not just use a rattlesnake" comes up.
I really want something high damage and not with missiles. But your tank didn't fell really comfortable. Did you eve had issues with that?

I get 40m tick with my blaster kronos
my blaster kronos i average 40-60mil a tick, it really depends on how efficient you are at clearing the waves, putting your drones on the frigates whilst killing the cruisers and battleships with your blasters, When i feel super comfortable with the damage im putting out i split my guns on the smaller targets like cruisers as they still die incredibly fast.
personally would add cap booster at least for situations like this! otherwise marauders are really nice but they can die very quickly.
what? they are marauders, anything smaller dies a lot quicker...
@@Martin-oj1yz Ishtar is considered the king when it comes to ratting, you can get away with Vexor/VNI in some parts of null sec so I'm not really sure if you NEED a marauder for ratting. its just quicker on the ticks with a marauder...
@@scargaming21 depends, how good your intel is in your space. marauder are a LOT faster than an ishtar, at least 2 times. with an alt, collecting loot, u make 3 times the isk as in an ishtar.

Marauders needed a nerf, they have been too powerfull compared to other battleships or even Dreads, if you consider how much isk you can pump out with them, the risk/reward has shifted to a more reasonable point. Important to say, i love my Marauder ISK printing machines, but if making isk becomes too ez its not good for the game.
