  • Tonkatsu, or Japanese breaded, fried pork cutlets are delicious and easy to make. Get the cutlets ready and then some steamed rice started. Fry these up while the rice is cooking to have a delicious dish on the table in about a half hour.
For extra crispy tonkatsu, after you drain them and let them cool a bit, fry them a second time!
Here is the Japanese cookbook I mentioned in the video:

Wish this was up yesterday when I cooked pork chops!! Love the tip about cutting the fat. What I love is you have minimal space as I do, I'm constantly shuffling things around. My kitchen has very little counter space it's a dysfunctional galley! I too am the dish washer. I just finished putting stuffed cabbage in oven and I'm taking a break before attacking the dishes!!

Well, I hope next time you decide to cook pork, you'll try this. I think you'll love it! And I'm glad I'm not the only one with tight space, having to shuffle things around. 😁

I’ll make these tomorrow. Just took the pork loin out of the freezer. I made enough rice yesterday for four meals in my Instant Pot.

How long are we frying them on each side and can I do these in my air fryer?

How long is going to depend on how hot your oil is and how thick the chops are. I just fry them until they are browned on both sides and done all the way through. I think you should be able to do these in the air fryer, but definitely give them a spray with some cooking oil before you start the air fryer and check on them throughout to make sure they don't burn. I'd definitely give these a try in the air fryer! I think you'll love these!

It is a fabulous cookbook! Our other favorite item in it is Karaage, and I already did a video about that one, too (czcams.com/video/1VHzcI1Ox6c/video.html)! My son (almost 20 now) has always been a big manga fan.
