    Just bought a house in Torreveija it was very easy, find your own solicitor and do not use the suggested solicitor by the estate agents. To protect your own interests

    Thanks for sharing such useful advice,I would agree that choosing slightly inland can really save €€€ and a good lawyer to get you thru the process👏🏿🥃

    Extremely helpful and informative. BTW, do you think property prices in Alicante city have gone up in the past two to three years?

      I thought so too, but wondered if it was just my imagination. We actually bought a place just before the pandemic, and although it needed lots of work it was cheap by any standards. Since then I have been looking at Idealista and, when in the city, estate agents windows, and the prices struck me as suddenly rocketing.Thanks again for all your great videos and tips. Have a lovely day @@ScottishCoupleInSpain

    Hi, i was thinking of buying in Torrevieja as there seems to be a lot going on all year round but as you say moving 20-30 minutes inland is cheaper, something similar to Torrevieja where would you recommend?
    Thanks

      Bought a house in torreta, if you go further inland the main place is the orihuela town & surrounding areas

      The big question is: do I want to integrate and learn Spanish so as not to be an eternal guiri? Or I just want sun and beach, Spanish stereotypes and only knowing how to say "cervesa", "grasias" and "I'm English". It's the difference between a real population with Spaniards or a British ghetto of sunburnt grandparents who mentally remain in Liverpool.

    Why would any brit buy for 90 days, glad I sold mine. Loved the country until the hostility over brexit

    • @ScottishCoupleInSpain
      @ScottishCoupleInSpain  Před 4 měsíci +7

      hostility? We moved here because of BREXIT and never had any hostility as you say. Brits wanted out of the EU am happy with it, people had the chance to move before. The upside is Spain had its best year ever for tourists last year. And are on course to overtake France and Paris as the top tourist places to go this year. House prices are on the up on the Costa Blanca as people from Norway etc buy 200k + holiday homes. Have a great day. Baz

      The famous 90 days have been in force for decades, since the Schengen treaty, and apply to foreigners from outside the European Union. The United Kingdom simply chose to move from the Schengen side to the side outside the EU.

      Brits' hostility towards the EU you mean? 🙄🤔

      And if you want residency, everything is so much harder, and to get access to the health service. Non starter now.
