I'm so good at breathing I can do it in my sleep!
I saw this comment 4 years ago lmao
I bet there wasn't lmao in 2014
That was a good joke
Hello
Reply to this comment if you're still breathing.
Im not trying to brag, but im pretty darn good at breathing.
Been doing it for years.
1V1 me ;)
I'm gonna out-breathe you junior.
i am not that good at breathing
unknownsniper23 i have been doing it since j was born
This was exactly the information I wanted when I looked up ‘why do I need oxygen anyway?’ Makes perfect sense now, thank you sir!
true
As I read through the comments on the CZcams channel, I am surprised and amazed at the responses and constant communication from Brain Stuff. It is truly refreshing to see people's thirst for knowledge and follow up questions answered here.
Thanks! We try to keep engaged with our community here!
Damn 7 years ago. How are you doing now mate
I'm one of the best at breathing. #12 in the nation this year. Coach said if i can get my respiration up this year i got a real shot at taking nationals and maybe one day become a universal breather which has always ben my life lung dream.
I'm really good at breathing. And I love doing it too - so much so I reckon I'd die if I wasn't allowed to breathe anymore
My breathing level is a solid pro. I have nearly 23 years experience in the field. If breathing was a game; my skill would be over 9000.
28 now!
29 now
Damn man, you're 31 now, how does it feel to be an old man?
Wow! This video was soooo helpful! I mean I have a science test tomorrow and I have to finish a science project today and seriously this video was just what I needed! Love it! Keep up the good work!
And now you've just switched to manual breathing!
The next 10 mins of my life are now ruined lol And now im also manually blinking thanks
Too late I've been like this
you know your body breathes by itself like it is also pumping blood and digesting
Sima Ștefan Yes that’s true, but breathing can also be manually accomplished unlike pumping blood or digesting, which are exclusively controlled by your autonomic nervous system.
@@dewberry41 oh c'mon man, why would you do that to me
another underrated video. great, non-jargon and simple explanation buddy. Thanks!
You have give Very simple explanation which are complicate to understand through reading and use very nice examples..
Nice video..
I am new subscriber of you.. Keep doing..
Back in my country I learned that plants breath oxygen at night and try not to put many pants in your room or you'll suffocate! I came to America and asked everyone including my teachers "Do plants also breath oxygen at night too?" they looked confused and I thought I was taught wrong!whenever I go camping, sleeping outside is pretty hard for me because I think I might suffocate from all the trees around me
Awesome and helpful video about an interesting topic thanks for sharing
and is it that heat that always makes a small gap between a plant and fresh snow fall?
So in cellular respiration our cells produce Carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. I have one question, if we produce water as a byproduct why can't our body use that water if say we are dehydrated away from a water source in the middle of the desert? Is it because not enough is made?
Carbohydrates are NOT "broken down into ATP", although their breakdown does phosphorylate ADP into ATP through glycolysis and Krebs cycle.
And also, glycolysis is anaerobic, meaning that it does not require the presence of oxygen.
Thanks Josh, for *inspiring* us to breath so we don't *expire*.
(Inspire and expire means to breath in and out)
haha
Master Therion wow deep some ppl are alive yet some don't breath
Master Therion can I share this video in my channel plz
@@sekharhimanshus No
Yes Josh, I would say that I am quite the breathing enthusiast. Thanks for asking by the way.
Not really sure
That's nice and all, but how long can you go without hugs?
Depends on how they're removed I suppose.
I'm two months from 30 and no hugs.... Huum ugggh durp... *flops over and dies*
80 years
Rekalty 15 years
In 2020? Always.
Atp production at the mitochondria?
Can I upload the video in my channel
This is important information in this day and age!
Breath taking video
SKJSKJSKJSHAHAHA
Great illustration!🤗
Very nice explanation
Thank you!!!
I am IT guy but yeah I love biology and natural education, it's fun. I am gonna have nice knowledge after this video
This is a great podcast as well. imma trucker and podcast ALOT, how many other ppl podcast?
You will die in just a few minutes without oxygen. But why do we need it to survive?
+BrainStuff - HowStuffWorks yes
+BrainStuff - HowStuffWorks why do we need blood for our body?
I believe you would die within 4-6 minutes with out oxygen
+Zz Cricket blood transports oxygen as well as other things and transports waste away that why you need blood
Pfffft, you can go the rest of your life with no oxygen...
Tanks
This video was a breath of fresh air.
nice infomation
It was said that we get rid of Co2 and h20 .. but doesnt pee also come out from our blood to the kidneys. Dont we get rid a certain amount of water through pee then?
There is a miniscule amount of water when you breathe out. It is the same water that fogs a glass pane when you breathe on it.
So yes the rest of your water is excreted in other ways
Oh man, when we see Josh at the start of the video, we know we are in for a treat! Nice outfit too by the way. That sounds sarcastic but I am genuine on both statements.
I'll let Josh know! He really should wear that shirt/pants combo more often.
Donate me some money
Yes I agree
Still Before Watching To Make The Blood Cycle Work in Our Circulatory System
is that Right
i still didn't watch the video but ill watch it know
respiration is like an internal combustion engine food as fuel, air oxygen, water as heat regulator. neurons as electrical energy, motion as kinetic energy.
But why exactly do we need oxygen why not hydrogen or co2 and how does the body know how to filter it
For your first question, it's really just the way our bodies evolved. For one, oxygen is way more abundant than either co2 or hydrogen.
See my reply to dragon Andrei
sometimes i don't breathe for a minute and wondered why do i really need oxygen
It's amazing how we take oxygen for granted. Oxygen can be used to pick up hydrogen protons (acid) and form water (H2O). Oxygen picks up carbon to remove it as carbon dioxide (CO2).
im so happy that someone understands me
6 years after I just wanna say I am still as good as breathing as I was before
I love all the Brain Stuff presenters, but Josh Clark has that little something extra. #Fullhomo
nice
Why do I feel like a python is wrapped around my chest? Like I can't even inhale enough for a decent laugh. It sucks
I don't mean to brag but I consider myself a pretty experienced breather.
Sir Elegant i have 41 years experience on this subject..
I guess photosynthesis is necessary in mars to generate oxygen once we get there.
also watch a ted talk that demonstrated weight lose in breathing... water/carbon-dioxide... awesome
Cool!
It's not the most abundant element on Earth, Silicon that makes up rocks and sand and all that stuff is the most common element on Earth.
Atmosphere is composed of several gases.. then how come we only breath in Oxygen and not all the other gases?? I mean is it filtered??
+Canopus k We do breathe in everything, including nitrogen, but we don't use. Some gases can be toxic, though, like carbon monoxide.
When I first read the title I didn't see the word "Why". I was like "Yes? Unless I'm mistaken?"
I can breath really good haha your so good
I feel like this is on par with Fun With Flags with Dr Sheldon Cooper and Dr Amy Ferrah Fowler
And then she came and took my breath away... 😂
Fish: I’m good at breathing, I can even breath underwater!-
Me: Me T- stop flexing fish T-T
Yay, it's Josh!!!!
I'm only ten so correct me if I'm incorrect
But water is h2o two parts hydrogen one part oxygen but it puts out fires but hydrogen is flammable and oxygen is inflammable so how does it put out fires if it's extremely flammable
And if you don't know inflammable means helps things burn for some reason
This is very cool i like it because it brain smart and nice
Could u please explain why we only breathe oxygen....why can't we breathe another gases?
Breath is not a right. Breath is a gift.
Someone help me! I forget how to breath...
I woke up from a dream that I could breath on Pluto.
4 years of people claiming they have years of experience breathing, and they are pretty good.
Some maybe, but if you really think you are good at breathing, try running 1 mile, then try swimming 100 meters.
Michael Phelps, and Usain Bolt are good at breathing, you probably aren't.
I love it I love my education
I suck at breathing... always fail with that one.
I'll challenge any one of you in breathing a breathing contest!
good video but I think you have mistaken the oxygen is 21% of atmosphere not 23% !!
I Think I Hold A World Record For Best Breather lol.
3:21
I've always considered myself a bit of an expert breather
I'm good at breathing I can hold my breath for 2 minutes
I thought I was good at breathing until I saw a JRE episode with David Blaine...turns out I've been doing that wrong my whole life too -_-
What would it take for humans to not need to breathe?
thank u all
My wonderful friends call me a mouth breather so I'm guessing that I am a good breather, right?
I don’t know, breathing can be quite a challenge
This guy looks like a mix of Messi and Bruce Wayne
I'm good at breathing. I practice ALL the time.
ya know, im a pretty good breather ;) once i actually did it 2 times, IN ONE DAY!!! Wait, it's not normal? Oh...
I actually suck at breathing, most of times I breath through my mouth.
I held my breath through that I got to 2:23
I can't bear to watch these Josh Clark videos. It's like getting a lobotomy via my ear canals.
Remember when there was 20% oxygen
Why does it feel like he could be a stunt double for deadpool
I’m so good at breathing I can do it blindfolded
Lol😂
HI!
Hi
Breathing is my game, yo. I could beat all of you in a breathing contest.
i breath by my mouth quickly.
Plants breathe all the time, not only at night, don't they???
I believe Josh was just using the night time example for effect as he presented the information. Oxygen is crucial in the process of respiration. Free oxygen is taken in by animals and plants and used to release energy from food. Plants release free oxygen during the process of photosynthesis.
BrainStuff - HowStuffWorks Plants need oxygen all the time. During photosynthesis, they make more than enough oxygen, use some for themselves and release the rest into the environment.
Didn’t explain to me why oxygen is the only thing that makes cellular respiration work
I'm the best at breathing!
I don't think oxygen is THE most abundant element on Earth.
I currently have over 144 000 hours on record, I think im addicted.
When you were talking about money I just pulled out my wallet and I was like what the
adenosine ... "zeen" not "zine"
Bringing up those numbers, this guy is confusing the chemical element O - which unfortunately also is called oxygen - with the molecule O2, which is what we need.
I'm good at brea-*chokes*...nevermind
Not even just for cellular respiration, plants need oxygen because they need carbon dioxide, which contains oxygen, for photosynthesis.
im good at breathing i can hold my breath for....about 2 or 3 seconds!.....heh
actualy this is insulting because im addicted to breathing and im trying to stop
