I didn't know it when making the video, but thank you to Chris Bidwell for being the original inspiration for the Hatris tournament and working with Vince to make it a reality!

I came up with this as an April Fool's prank a couple years ago. Vince and Alex were on board from the start. I can't thank Vince enough for helping me put it together. And I am also truly happy for Alex, who is an absoulte legend in this scene, getting another title to add to his resume.

I used to play against Alex on fb and I'm very happy he finally got his world championship! Even if it was in a fake tetris... if it ends in tris it counts!

The weirdest officially licensed version of Tetris I've seen has to be In-Flight Tetris (that's actually what it's called)
You can only play in on the seat-back screens of airplanes of certain airlines and flights

I remembered playing this game... Hella fun
I've played a rather similar game called FaceTris as part of the Tetris Gold package for PC. You stack eyes, chin, hair etc of different faces in a similar way to Hatris and I never could really figure out how to play to any high level.

Close, I think the game you might have in mind is called just "Yoshi" (or "Yoshi's Egg" in Japan, "Mario and Yoshi" in Europe). They do have a very similar column stacking/matching type of puzzle solving to them. :)
Interestingly, I found that "Yoshi" was developed by Game Freak. I think I thought it was another Bullet-Proof Software game like "Hatris" and "Yoshi's Cookie" (the one with the grid of cookies that can be swapped horizontally/vertically) due to it being another Yoshi puzzle game and having Hatris-like mechanics.

Wasn't it critters and egg-halves falling and you had to place lower half of egg as low as you could and then place critters on top before closing with upper half of egg? Additionally three same critters in a stack would also disappear and give points too.

Please stop titling your videos to make it seem like your going to do something when all your really going to do is talk about doing it. I actually thought you were going to play Hatris. There is nothing wrong with the video it's just misleading.
I'm confused as to what is misleading about the title. For most of the video I did actually show myself playing Hatris, I'm just providing commentary on top of it to explain what's going on since the strategy can be confusing if one is unfamiliar with the game
