If you enable the UPS server, you can capture the UPS metrics. Home Assistant has a really integration, or you could also hook it up to Prometheus and a Grafana dashboard.
Thank you for the informative video. The wording on the option "Shut down UPS when the system enters standby mode" is confusing. To me it sounds like the UPS itself shuts down and cuts power to the synology. Or does the Synology properly shut down from standby mode?
Synology will go into the shutdown state. Therefore making it in a state where I’d the UPS runs out of battery, everything is safe from a NAS perspective.
