    This was very interesting I know there are different type of boots but I also thought they just went by size but one thing I am not a big fan of is pull on bell boots it is like when you put on rubber bit rings I often use two bits of bailing twine and pull and push at the same time but this was more informative looking forward to the next one

  • @LisaPanton
    @LisaPanton Před 3 lety +2

    OMG those old rubber bell boots - those used to be the only option available trying to pull them on and off in the freezing cold with numb hands here in the UK winters was NO fun lol thank goodness they invented velcro ones

      Lisa Panton LifeVantage Distributor I use these for the horses fitness work! When the grass seeds are out in full force, they’re the only bell boots we use! And yes they graze all the skin off your knuckles lol!

  • @racenail9086
    @racenail9086 Před 3 lety

    With the show jumping front shin boots be very careful of the fit. If a horse has a rounded ankle, particularly rounded out the back slightly. It can cause the shin boot to "tilt" and make the top of the boot dig into the tendon just below the knee and the hard edge of the plastic does not take long to aggravate the skin and tendon just below the knee.

    Ive been looking for new dressage boots, since my Veredus are done for. But holy shit its hard to find. I found these Le Mieux onses that was so nice and breathable. However even the large was like 2 sizes ti small for him. My Veredus are M. What the hell? 😂😂😂 and Catago is the same as Le Mieux. Who would have thought it would be this hard finding dressage boots for a normal size horse with normal size legs? Its like shopping for jeans. 😂😂😂

    YESSSSS!!! Boot video!!!!
    I loved the xc boots and what you said. I feel much more prepared for getting some. I do wonder why some of them have strike pads only in the tendon area, and some have on the inside as well? I had a pony that got an injury from striking the inside of the front leg with the other front leg hoof, so I always wonder why, when boots don't have protection there...
    Do you think you need ice boots if you just do xc up to 80cm? Can you make do with cooling gels or clay?

    • @amandarosseventingfit6803
      @amandarosseventingfit6803  Před 3 lety +1

      MB Equestrian personally I think we should all learn to manage our horses legs even at 80cm! It may not seem that taxing on your horse, but by practicing the skill, you’ll become very good at icing, recognizing swelling & heat, & managing your horses legs.If you have an older horse, or one who feels the ground, then I’d definitely be icing at any height to maintain their soundness.

    • @JustHorseyMie
      @JustHorseyMie Před 3 lety +1

      @@amandarosseventingfit6803 OK. It's kind of impossible to keep ice cold at shows, since we have no freezer, no electricity, and the show day usually start at 8, which means you probably take the ice out of the freezer at 5 or 6 in the morning. And since xc is the last thing, it is usually not untill 3 pm... so the ice will be melted by that time. I still check my horse's legs for swelling and heat, and I am very OCD about that. When I did xc and in the future, I'll probably do 1, or 2, 1 day events a year at 60 cm level, so I was hoping I could just cool the legs down with water and gel/clay.

    • @amandarosseventingfit6803
      @amandarosseventingfit6803  Před 3 lety +1

      MB Equestrian MB Equestrian I have a large ice box/esky that I take to shows, which keeps the ice cold all day. Have you tried the camping shops? They usually have really good ice boxes, plus your water can go in there too!

      They're great to use after any high impact activity, they prevent swelling and inflammation due to the increased blood circulation and ice :) Also great for recovering from injury though
