Hope you guys enjoyed my first Pittsburgh trip. I absolutely loved it and have things planned for a return trip. My part 2 Amtrak video will be coming out next.
When did you guys come to Pittsburgh JP? I saw that it was before St. Patrick's Day but was it this past March 2021? I grew up loving P]? I grew up loving the burgh. If you don't like to eat than Pittsburgh wouldn't be the place to go. Pittsburgh people love ro not cook but eat also. If you ever want to go where the Pittsburgh Pens used to practice I know where it is and I was there and didn't even know it until after I was there. My favorite radio personally person owns a restaurant in the same building. It's called Bubba's Gourmet Burgers. They have awesome food. It's in Canonsburg, PA
JP - there are books called Weird Pennsylvania, Weird Florida, etc Since living in Florida bought one. Though I have not ventured out in a very long time - it does give great suggestions.
Once again, thank you for showing me my old hometown. I went to the Stanley Theatre back in the early 80's and saw Peter, Paul and Mary...where have the years gone ? I also loved being on the Incline. I remember riding it as a child, and then seeing it through my son's eyes many years later when he was a child. Other things of interest for a return trip...Primanti Brothers Restaurant, Mellon Square Park, The Pittsburgh Zoo, Phipps Conservatory, a ride through "The Tubes", Kennywood Park...the list goes on. As I said in the beginning, a very heartfelt Thank You.
The Warner Theater, in your photo montage brought back memories of my childhood sitting in the balcony. It was a beautiful old style movie house with the red velvet seat, lush draping curtains and lots of guiding. Really appreciate you taking us along on your family trip.
I loved this video. Pitts is a nice city to visit thank you for taking us along. It was a nice vacation and places to see since I am home because of the covid... can't wait for more videos...keep up the good filming ...
Thank you for taking us along on your vacation 😊 Pittsburgh is a huge city and it was really interesting to see all the neat places you visited - enjoy the rest of your vacation and stay safe 👍😊💕
1891 church is beautiful. This looks like a fun trip. Oh my gosh ! OK I need a bite of each dish, yum! Thanks for sharing. Love the 2nd church as well. JP thanks for including the pictures of the theater.👍💙🙂🚂🚃
Really enjoyed the whole Pittsburgh trip So Much to see and you showed us alot of different things! I could almost taste that strawberry shake LOL! Thank you to Lil n' Jill for letting us tag along! Great filming and editing! Thank you JP! 🔥🔥🔥
What an awesome and fun trip you guys had! Lots of good food and fun places to explore and interesting history. The church was amazing and just the overall architecture of the city is beautiful. That was so neat when the subway was emerging under the freight train! The view from the incline was so beautiful, the ride up looked a little scary lol, but would be well worth it after seeing those views. Gorgeous photos too! Looking forward to your part 2 Amtrak video! Thank you so much JP!
You had some great luck with rail fanning near the incline! Great views of the city from the top. I'm enjoying this travel series very much, and would definitely love to see more in the future.
When he rode the incline up, he was in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The building with the red lights was Children's Hospital located in the Lawrenceville neighborhood.
Oh, Wow ! the music in the photo montage was awsome ! Wonderful ending to a beautiful explore of Pittsburg ..So many things to enjoy ...loved the quaint shops on the "strip" , the unique fountain , great train shots ...btw your camera sure has fantastic zoom feature .loved that ! Looking forward to more sights and sounds of your trip ..until next time , y'all take care : }
Loved seeing you all enjoying time together. Everything was amazing, fun, & interesting!! The outside area of your hotel was fantastic. You really chose an awesome place to stay. Enjoyed the shopping, views, lights, church was beautiful!! Food all of you had looked delicious & oh those donuts!!! Got to have those crispy fries also! Montage & music were spectacular. Thanks Jay to you, Jill, & Lili for sharing.❤🥰😘
Thank you for this wonderful video. The buildings are so amazing especially the churches. I enjoyed how you described everything. Your family is adorable and you guys looked like you had a really good time.
What beautiful scenery and views. Didn't know about all the bridges there. The old churchs were magnificent. Loved it all. The night lights were spectacular. What happened to all those donuts? No left overs for later? Thanks for taking me along with your family. Looking forward to more. The zoom lens on your camera is fantastic. Never knew a camera lens could get so close from so far away without a massive lens.
Great video. It's been so awesome to see Pittsburgh up close and seeing the sights with you and your family the pictures were great 👍 Have a great evening 👍Thank you again for sharing 🙂
This is my favorite video of your adventures. The views were beautiful, the buildings stunning. You'd never get me out of Grandpa Joe's especially with Willy Wonka playing (and I need that Drinks Well With Others shirt).

Yes Shirley Jones was born in Charleroi PA and grew up in Smithton PA not far from Pittsburgh! She was a great actress and singer and I loved the Partridge Family!!
I only live about an hour outside of Pittsburgh and we used to visit "The Strip" often. This video brings back lots of good memories. The food scene in Pittsburgh is outstanding, and the people are very friendly. Thanks.
Thank you for visiting The Strip! It's usually crammed with people and energy. Pamela's has been rated the best breakfast in Penna. I'm glad that you went to it.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Pgh! I live about 20 miles north of the city and took my kids on a mini staycation a couple years ago. We loved going the the Strip District and Station Square. My favorite thing is riding the inclines. The lower lobbies are so vintage and gorgeous with the dark wood and old ceiling fans. Pgh really has so many beautiful old buildings along with a nice mix of new ones. If you ever come back in the summer, do a Duck tour that leaves from Station Square and takes you thru downtown, across the Allegheny river and then goes into the river and you can get great shots of the fountain at the Point with downtown in the background.
Pittsburgh is my favorite city. There's so much stuff crammed into a relatively small area. You definitely still get that big city vibe, but with about half the hassle of NYC or Philly. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is amazing and well worth a visit. You can easily burn a whole day there. The Heinz History Center is very cool too plus it has a small super-detailed O-gauge diorama that is seriously impressive. You've also got the National Aviary and the Phipps Botanical Gardens to get your fix of exotic birds and flowers. Craft beer galore, amazing restaurants. (I go to Pamela's every time I'm out there for corned beef hash) Just north of the city in Gibsonia is the Western PA Model Railroad Museum. Right up your alley.
Again what a beautiful city Pittsburgh is my daughter got excited by all the places you visited and asked when we can go and check out some of the same places as well
Thanks for sharing. It looks like a nice clean city.I know its steeped in history.Glad you and family got to visit. The old church is beautiful and so Gothic. The lookout and incline looked cool.
You did a great job. If you come back, may be I can be your guide. I use to live and work in Pittsburgh for 15 years or so. Now I am 25 miles outside of the City, but use to come town often for meetings and lunch with friends before COVID. I now want a Milkshake shake. You walked a lot of the Culture District during videos. That is the most fun part of town and where you find many fountains and art installations. Now if come in Summer there are more fountains running. Safe travels back to Harrisburg with your family.
Fun little adventure!! The 1st Pres church was magnificently beautiful!!! Love all the shops and restaurants!! Thanks for sharing!!! 💖💙💖💙💖💙💖💙 P.S. Gorgeous montage!!!
Noah said I am coming with you lol beautiful churches and the whole place was beautiful. Noah loved the train's and the milkshake tomorrow I promise him one . And it's nice seeing your whole family there .❤❤❤ stay safe love ya

Looks like some good eating places in the downtown area, surprise you didn’t ran into Wallie B26 while visiting the Pittsburgh area. Awesome with the stare around coming out of the tunnel underneath the freight train.
Loved the tour. Thought u might rent the bikes. They dont sell Cheerwine soda here but I have had it in the south and so good. Maybe go into one of those old churches sometime to video if allowed I know they are magnificent looking. OMG milkshakes. Always the right time for a milkshake. Thanks for inviting us along.
Great city tour, you squeezed in a lot of stuff, great train catches. If you ever get back to the strip district or the area you have to try Primate brothers, get the Pittsburger.
Excellent video JP! I was in Pittsburgh in March on a quick Amtrak jaunt, just there for a few hours, took the Capitol Limited from DC, and the Pennsylvanian back to Philly. You showed what I missed! Definitely going to head back there and spend more time. Beautiful photo montage at the end, and the music was superb! Good job!
I have to say, that there are many fountains downtown that were missed.. There is Point State Park, Mellon Square, USS Plaza, Gateway Center, BNY-Mellon Bank, and PPG Place plus several more.
I live not too far away and enjoyed my trips to Pittsburgh in years past. To “The Messiah” concert and the museum years ago. Thanks for sharing! I am interested in the man preaching but I couldn’t hear what he was saying too well and the closed captioning didn’t get it all. But I hope he was preaching Jesus Christ and His saving grace! Those milkshakes looked good! 🥤

I am glad that you guys enjoyed your time in Pittsburgh. It is a beautiful city. I have family that lives in the suburbs there. I have been to the Strip District a few years ago; it is an enjoyable place with all the shops and restaurants there. Wooley's has good fish sandwiches.
Amazing place, awesome vacation video JP. That candy shop looks amazing... Curious, is there much sports city-versus-city, one versus the other kind of thing there in PA... like san francisco versus los angeles? Or is that just a California thing?
OK...my highlights in this video was that Old 1891 Church, Pamela's Diner (I love retro stuff), the CHEERWINE soda in the candy shop ( cause it's made in my state in Salisbury, N.C.), the First Presbyterian Church, the Incline Railway (amazing view), and the ending Photo Montage. Maybe the building in the distance with the red lights was the Highmark Building.
No that was not Highmark Building. Highmark Building is Downtown closer to Point State Park. He was looking down the 376 East corridor, that is Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
Loved this video!! Glad Jill and Lili could be with you on this trip! I would love to go but even to fly from SW Ohio to Pittsburg it is a 9 hr flight!!! Why? Oh because have to fly to Chicago and spend 4 hrs on layover.. I am going to watch the Amtrak video...it may be worth it. Thanks for showing me all that I crave to see. The Presbyterian church is most likely an Irish church. My Irish family came to Pittsburg from Ireland due to the husband being beheaded for being a Presbyterian. Brightest blessings!
The Incline is awesome but I have to sit facing forward. Under the green tarp in front of the Hard Rock are also fountains, closed for the season. All of Pittsburgh's major sports teams are black and gold. 🖤 💛 If you come back, visit the Heinz Museum. Yes, I like these "vacation" videos. Put Cleveland on the list!! 😄
Gotta love Pittsburgh I know I like it. I met Nita straus the guitarist for Alice cooper at the hard rock there the incline plane was a cool experience I’m glad you got to experience it all there is so much to see you gotta see the museum there I can’t remember the name of it but it has the Fred Rodgers set he used on his tv series very neat to see. Excellent video JP I’m sure you will return very soon you gotta experience a pirate game and try a pittsburger sandwich when I was there I stayed at the Westin it was very nice as well
I don't know exactly where it is in PA, but a visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright home, "Falling Water" would be epic. It's everyone's favorite, built over a waterfall and the architecture is beyond beautiful. I bet Jill and Lili would love it.
Hope you guys enjoyed my first Pittsburgh trip. I absolutely loved it and have things planned for a return trip. My part 2 Amtrak video will be coming out next.

I am glad that you guys enjoyed your time in Pittsburgh. It is a beautiful city. I have family that lives in the suburbs there. I have been to the Strip District a few years ago; it is an enjoyable place with all the shops and restaurants there. Wooley's has good fish sandwiches.
I dont like fish, but I'll be trying Primanti bros when I return.
Awww man you should come back and check out the old Train Terminal in the Strip on Smallman. Its been remodeled with a bunch of different shops.
I saw it, but didnt know it was open.
Have a great and safe trip home!!!
Couldn't pick just one highlight? Haha jk. Glad you enjoyed it all.
No that was not Highmark Building. Highmark Building is Downtown closer to Point State Park. He was looking down the 376 East corridor, that is Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
@@dianaroth9073 Oh ok. I was just looking at night photos and made a guess but I was wrong! Thanks for the information.
@@JPVideos81 Nope! Just like Lay's Potato chips......can't have just one!
The 1891 church is St. Stanislaus Kostka.
Love the gatlinburg shirt Jill had on. We just got back from there. 💕
Another place we love as well, just overcrowded now.
@@JPVideos81 yes it was very overcrowded
Nice trip !
👍
I think that the skyline of building looks better from the top floor of a motel deck then the ground view wow a small shopping district
Definitely offers a nice perspective
So very cool, Big Steelers fan. I want to see Pittsburgh some day. What about A Pittsburgh sandwich... Primanti Brothers.. Can you tour Heinz field?
There's a heinz museum I plan on checking out
Loved this video!!
I definitely recommend checking out the train ride
@@JPVideos81 I think I will go look at prices. I am 1 1/2 hrs from Amtrak station. Did you need to call a taxi or uber to get to your hotel?
@@julieb2398 Drury Hotel is a 5-7min walk from Pittsburgh's Union Station (Amtrak Station)
So much good food 💙
Perfect place for someone like me

😂 I didnt mean that & you know it.
Totally fascinated by the Mint.
I didnt like to Travel before Covid
@@stephaniehowe0973 I'm in 100% agreement with you. I love to eat and lots of great food.
Thanks for the input
Gotta love Pittsburgh I know I like it. I met Nita straus the guitarist for Alice cooper at the hard rock there the incline plane was a cool experience I’m glad you got to experience it all there is so much to see you gotta see the museum there I can’t remember the name of it but it has the Fred Rodgers set he used on his tv series very neat to see. Excellent video JP I’m sure you will return very soon you gotta experience a pirate game and try a pittsburger sandwich when I was there I stayed at the Westin it was very nice as well
Heinz museum? Its on my list.
I don't know exactly where it is in PA, but a visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright home, "Falling Water" would be epic. It's everyone's favorite, built over a waterfall and the architecture is beyond beautiful. I bet Jill and Lili would love it.
👍
Yes very neat to see. It is about 1.5 hour drive down the turnpike going east. Get off at Donegal and follow the signs down 381 south.
Oh man those bridges are a nightmare! Do they still change traffic direction depending on time of day?
Not sure. We were on foot the whole time.
