Keep in mind, *I am terrible at using a fiber laser!* 😜
thank you for the shout out Rich!! Looking forward to our collaboration video!!
Me too Patrick!!
Rich I've watched you from the beginning and you have/are been brilliant at explaining things and teaching us so much, but hobbyists have no chance in a lifetime of owning a fibre laser, good to watch, but maybe not for aforementioned hobbyists. Please don't abandon us diode laser users, we rely on your explanations. 🙂
I'm not abandoning! I've had a fiber laser for 2 years now. Lots of hobby users have been asking for them, so there's going to be a mix of diode, Co2 and fiber lasers Richard.
Thanks for replying Rich, I would like to progress to a fiber some day, I'm hoping as more people buy them so production costs might come down, thanks again for all the tremendous tutorials you have given us over the years @@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Thanks, much appreciated Richard!
Long time student first time posting. Thank you for all you do for the laser community. I am super excited to see that you are teaching fiber laser engraving. Especially with a 60Watt JPT MOPA. I am looking forward to your next video. By looking at your sneak peek images it’s right up my alley. Again thank you for being an amazing Lightburn teacher and CZcams content creator.
Much appreciated! But I'm just trying to learn it myself! Although I have had another MOPA laser for about a year in the other shop, I have only used it for doing one particular job. This is an all new learning experience for me! Glad you're enjoying the journey!
Great video, Rich. All that material test time paid off the tile came out fantastic 👏👏
I suck at fiber settings David, but I'm getting help from Patrick.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Patrick has great knowledge of the fiber lasers. I've watched a few of his videos, top guy. I do fancy picking one up, probably 50w mopa, but the wife said only one laser a year 🙄
Hmm... time for a new wife? 😜 JK

Thank you for the vid. A fiber is on my wish list.
They're fun and fast Todd.
What is a fiber laser?
A really fast laser to do metals.
Ok, you talked me into it. Just ordered the 60W Fiber and a rotary. Btw, I'm from Louisiana, too. Little town called Bogalusa. Don't live there anymore, though.
Have fun with it! I actually wasn't trying to convince you...
Lol, i know. I actually searched for it on youtube, which brought me to your video. One thing I'd like to ask - does this laser use the MOPA M or the MOPA E laser source? Because the M has a 2.0 max pulse power, and the E has a 1.5 max pulse power.
Just bought a JPT Mopa 60w from China. I know nothing. lol Have had a co2 for a while but lost when it comes to the fiber. looking forward to your videos.
Congrats! That's what Patrick and I use on our other livestream channel. Go and subscribe to the live notifications here: lasermakersrealm.com/. You'll get an email reminder every other week the day we go live!
I’m running regular lightburn would I need to buy lightburn galvo to run a fiber?
Yes, you need the upgrade.
Rich, I followed your link for the fiber laser , but did not see a JPT MOPA fiber laser, even tried their search. Am I missing something?
This is the G160 I'm using in the video:
monportlaser.com/collections/fiber-laser-engravers/products/gi60-mopa-integrated-fiber-laser-engraver-marking-machine-with-electric-lifting
They have several to choose from Phil.
Hi rich, nice video.
Have my first fiber sins a copple weeks cliudray 60 jpt mopa now myself 😎
How long did this tile totaly take to engrave. The production tiles.
I understand testing a lot is needed.
(Almost done with my color testing for 75 colors on steel . )
Uh, I don't know. Each one is different based on the graphic. I think this one took about 20 min or so.
Ok thank you, I thought they where the same.
Hope to see the rest. Rwaly like those titles you showed . 👍
They are the same tiles, but the graphics are all different. Some can take up to 5x as long as others, depending on detail of the images.
