- In this video I try to play as France without declaring any wars in Europa Universalis IV. My ultimate goal is to form Roman Empire.

@@IquonYT he is. Go to the about section
Humorously its the Rome strategy. They loved making friends with little guys, and when a regional power attacks that little guy, crush the power and take power there. They tried to expand primarily by helping their friends. Good diplomatic posturing
In Roman logic, every single war they've ever fought has been a defensive war. From an outsider persepctive, some of the mental gymnastics are a little insane, but according to the Romans they were all defensive...this even includes the Byzantines when reconquering lands in Italy and North Africa...all defensive, because they're simply retaking what was theirs
@@heikoribbrock8461 thats what russia thinks its doing in ukraine lol
When I reformer Rome in ck2 I was the occitan empire and I was basically western Rome reformed by the southern gaul colonists of Caesars planting. I didn't invade ERE tho I was their all for many many decades
And I f9nakly just aboarbed them into my empire and reunified the empire. Cum orient reconsyedabamus
@@isaacshultz8128 uh….cool?
Espionage has a vassalage acceptance buff.
You should've kept Provence around; in their missions, they get a PU on Naples, or, *if either nation is a subject*, cores on all of the Neapolitan starting lands
but he cannot declare war for it
@@Unfezant33 he wouldn't have too, you can use the "return core" favour interaction for vassal cores.... Or at least, could last time I played which was, admittedly, before 1.34
@@connortheandroidsentbycybe7740 Still can. He does it in the video
13:56 You don't inherit Burgundy if you're at war. You must have peace until you inherit Burgundy. This event also seems to take place by 1510.
Provence could get cores on Naples, which you could return from the Pope and/or Naples.
"Then I'll try to declare a peacekeeping operation" 😂

Just discovered your channel, quality stuff man, from editing to gameplay to commentary. For size it's very unexpected. Keep it up man! I'll be subbing 👌
Thanks!
Very good video. Can't understand a word you said lol. Perfect.
This is insane, I am waiting The second part, and I will give my like and subscribe.
Nice video, dont worry about not completing the goal. Watching Laith made me enjoy the fails video also. A good idea would have been to give Provence Corsica so they would get cores on Naples. 😇
Watching Laith make you a cheater who plays on speed 5 and have no clue what your on about too?
Best EU4 vids on the scene rn
another banger from cool bonobo
Your videos are really enjoyable and unique. Keep it up and you’ll be as big Zlewikk and the rest in no time!
Thanks!
Nice and truthful thumbnail! (if you saw Zlewikk's recent video)

yoooo so cool when i play i make up little stories too
why certain provinces need to have my tag on them :D
Nice try, I like the edits and energy, also it’s important to keep integridy as we know *some* youtubers like to always succeed and thus cheat
this guy indeed a Cool Bonobo
Huh I kind of want to try this now.
Oh this is a thing I did once. I didn't form Rome; I got awful luck; no Burgundian Inheritance, missed out on becoming the HRE because my ruler died on the same day as the HRE making me ineligable that single day... [I eventually became the HRE ~20 years from 1821 but... 20 years]
Nice

This whole challange made bo sense peacefully so without military first few minutes marching into england 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was purely self defense, no british peasant was harmed in the process
I can't form Rome as France at all
I still believe EU4 would be way cooler if instead of being a 4x grand strategy it was a monkey simulator, modders need to look into this.
Why modders? Paradox should look into it! Would definitely buy the "Return to Monkey" DLC from multiple accounts!
Interesting, i think you're the first one who did this
Second actually, there also was a post on Reddit.
would be cool to try as ottomans going orthodox or katholic
9:10 this won't be controversial
Is it not possible to force release minors from ottomans in peacekeeping?
It is, but will cost the same as conquering their provinces directly
Would have liked to push this a little more. Still a good run though!
I would, actually. Ottomans were the deal breaker. if they hadn't broken alliance that early (so I can at least return Balkans), everything would have gone according to plan. Though the run still went better than expected.
@@CoolBonobo Oh yeah with cores expiring in anatolia and such. Couldn't you have just enforced peace over and over, take land yourself? Not trynna downplay ur run, probably couldnt have done it but i am curious
I didn't want to end the run that early, so after recording I've melted my save and done some tests. Just to get Balkans I'd need 100 warscore, and that's not counting Anatolia and Iraq. In theory it would be possible, if I stacked max war score reduction. But I really doubt that I would be able to conquer necessary provinces, just because I'm not in control when I enforce peace. Many nations just want to peace out when I get 30-50 warscore for them. It'd be easy to do it if I could use threaten war to declare, or use reconquest cb. But without it, it's basically a requirement to be extremely lucky.
@@CoolBonobo Ohhh I see, that makes alot of sense. Time was the core issue. Thanks for the detailed answer man
isnt there a french mission to instantly inherit burgundy
It's an old video, before domination, so no
Hmm yes pax Francosphere
why no HRE play?
The Roman Empire doesn't have any territory in Germany
@@sh4dowveil749 hehave, like the reinland or austria. But i was thinking more of using the hre reforms to have the vassals sworm and vassalize more easily

how did you vassallize countries which aren't your religion?
simply ally them and have high relations also high dev army and navy compared to them, if you protect them it can be easier also I think
@@pad1d3 no that, when i try to vassallize, the requirements are:
1- Be allied
2- Have more than 190 relations
3- Not in a war
4- The same religion
Weird, it shouldn't be a requirement (at least in 1.34). It does make vassalizing more difficult, but not impossible.
sorry but war is war offensive or defensive so this is a fail
