    I really like this design. The problem for me would be the lack of coherent conversation with the company. It's too bad we have very few companies in America that actually build their own electric bicycles using American workers. It's not like we don't have capable people. And I see so many people unemployed where I live. Great review and thanks for publishing this video.

      @@mrbarbarycoast8572 We can't agree with your perception.The reason why our electric bicycles are definitely not from the same factory with other brands is that we own our factory. Our frame is made of thicker material, with greater ruggedness and greater curvature for taller heights.The most critical part is the battery, we use SAMSUMG/PANASONIC batteries and unique high quality BMP battery protection system (hardware) internally, which enables the motor to achieve maximum efficiency (>85%), achieve perfect balance in motor torque and maximum speed. We use our designed software system to create a more comfortable riding experience on start and brake, and large display , more high-end transmissions, throttle with switch.(2019), waterproof controllers and integrated wiring harnesses, etc. In terms of configuration and quality, we are never afraid to compare with other brands. Our design team launches 5-8 models every year, although some will be similar to other brands, but only looks like. We pursue to enable more people to learn about electric bicycle and love it.In order to get the most authentic and the latest technology, every year our design team spends more than one third time on learning and communicating in the different accessories factory ,such as motor,battery assembly, controller, display and frame.We are sure that this is unmatched by any other brands. Of course, we admit that we still have some problems in after-sales service and operations, but we keep doing to make progress. We hope that every Addmotor owners love and ride our electric bicycle.Thanks.

    Just bought the 2021 version, and they seen to have come a long way in their shipping lol ... mine came ALMOST fully assembled ... just had to put on front wheel, fender, basket & light. The handlebars were hanging there fully wired, so they just had to be put in and tightened. And that was it. I'm excited to get out there and ride this summer!

    It sounded like a donkey-cart going down the dirt road, but totally fine on pavement. One note: the assembly-time clock cannot be stopped until ALL elements of the bike are PROPERLY assembled (headlight, front fender). I just had to razz you a little bit, Brent!

    Sometimes I don't understand the mindset of younger people, you think 45 minutes is a long time putting that together? I'm not a novice with bikes at this point in my life yet I bet I would be at that throughout the afternoon. I might stop for a cup of coffee and overall be more casual but I couldn't contemplate completing it in under an hour.

      Hi Jessa! Maybe it depends on the weight of the bike and rider... this one weighs like 80+ lbs whereas most two-wheeled fat ebikes are in the 55 to 65 lb range. I also weigh about 70 lbs less than Brent ;)

    How do you think this will handle on sand beaches? If not what would you Recommend for that purpose ? Would like a trike but if have a better recommendation in a regular 2 wheel bike that'll be ok as well.

  • @kevinnashskitchen3517

    750 watt and 17.5 ah might be best for hilly areas. That battery is a bit shy of a 20 mile day. Anything over 15 ah might not fit with the seat down all the way though.

    Two questions: Is it a geared hub motor so that there is no drag from the magnets when not under power or is it a gearless hub motor so that there is always som resistance from the magnets? On paved surfaces how noticeable is the drag from the magnets when not under power (PAS level zero)? Also, does that short fender on the front even protect the rider from wheel spray. Did you ever ride it through a puddle you see how wet you get afetrward? Otherwise, great review.

    Why can't a generator be kept in the storage unit which is driven by the wheels that charge a spare battery also held in the storage box so that when the battery being used goes dead, the batteries can be swapped and so on.? I know there is someone who can tell me why this isn't a thing.

    • @alfredoecheverri9619
      @alfredoecheverri9619 Před 6 lety

      Brent McCluskey - Electrified Reviews, part of correctly assembling it would of been tightening the front fender and light assembly so they were not loose. You yourself said the twist throttle may have been install error. The back bag was clearly not strapped down and so much so that the top flap in the video opened and just flapped backwards while you filmed yourself on the trike.. don’t get me wrong, your reviews are through and perhaps long at 30 plus minutes. But if you are putting that much effort into a review, it should be spotless. Right?

  • @stevest1300
    @stevest1300 Před 2 lety +1

    These front wheel trikes are useless in the mountains. On any uphill gravel hills, the front wheel just spins, especially if you have gear in the cage. Costco in British Columbia has seen a lot of returns of their etrike for that reason.
    Why doesn't anyone build a +500 watt rear or mid drive fat tired off pavement trike?

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  Před 2 lety

      Great point, I agree with you and have had the front wheel spin problem you mention. The challenge with rear wheel is that it's complex to power both wheels and you need a differential (or at least it helps). Mid-drives tend to be more expensive to begin with, and have to interface with gearing... it's just more complicated, and trikes tend to already be complex and expensive, so maybe the companies just aim for the simple hub motor for those reasons. People who get them want stability and cargo, probably less common for steep climbs and off road.

  • @3dkiller
    @3dkiller Před 6 lety +2

    Front suspension is low quality, and the derailer stands way to low!. Brake on 1 back tire is not good at all. Battery is low capacity for these days its 2018 not 2013 anymore.

    • @cryoglobulinemiacolin4064
      @cryoglobulinemiacolin4064 Před 5 lety

      Correct on the front suspension! I have one I picked up a few weeks ago, have only ridden it short distances a few times and already the front shocks seem like they are toast. (if I lean on the handlebars the shocks will depress VERY easily and then when I lift the front end of the trike off the ground, the shocks won't even extend back out. It feels like they are baffed already! ... sigh :( I purchased it for my wife as she has major mobility issues. If I could do it over again, I would pick one without front shocks (ie. emojo caddy or Florence Fat Trike

    Looks like a generic 1200$ ebike with a third wheel. There are to many ceap parts on this, to pay 2599 for it. 1500$ should be the normal pricee, if you compare the specs with other cheap ebike.
    Apart from this, a bike like this makes a lot of sence to replace a car. Perfect for driving to grocery stores etc.

    • @peterpedal9388
      @peterpedal9388 Před 6 lety

      This bike has what I would call a 'sprung' seat post. An actual parallel action 'suspension' seat post with a comfort seat might be helpful, especially if you have spine/back issues. I have used a Suntour suspension seat post (there are many others) to great effect for about 3k miles on my hard tail Giant bicycle; the roads I ride on are really rough. Any bump or object about 1 inch or less which I now run over doesn't seem to exist. With one on this trike, though, it seems like you would have battery removal issues, although there will be a solution: use the quick release or charge in place, etc. I don't know how necessary a suspension seat post would be on this machine anyway, with its having fat tires and it being a trike, with its trike-specific dynamics compared to a bike. My 5c worth.
      FWIW, I added a 350W geared front wheel motor kit to my bike. Even with decades of mechanical experience, it still took me 2 very long evenings to do a proper job. At least an hour just to unpack/survey and read instructions. Electric motor transformed my biking experience. Need much caution out there on the road now, frequent maintenance to keep things held together, and goooood brakes!
