I worked as an assistant caretaker for a primary school over the Summer, my temporary boss had been there for 40 years, he was about 70 years old. He rides around on his ride on lawnmower really quickly and kids always run up to him to high five him!
As far as the diet goes, you might want to try something that isn't hell for you. Usually the biggest problem with any diet is compliance, not the diet itself. If it feels shit and feels like a lot of work even after you give yourself time to get used to it, then you're probably not going to stick with it long term. Personally, I give myself macronutrient (carbs, protein, and fat), fiber and calorie goals and eat whatever allows me to hit them. Usually, that means lots of meat, whole grains, veggies, and then whatever I feel like at the end of the day to hit the calorie goal. Doesn't feel like work so it's easy for me to stick with it and, with the fairly high protein goal I set for myself, I absolutely never feel hungry.
The problem is that his body is making the switch from carbs to fats. It's not unhealthy or anything, the body just needs to become more efficient with ketones. If he has the discipline he's going to be fine in a few weeks.
I'm not saying it's unhealthy especially if he's following the version that allows for fibrous carbs. The problem I'm seeing comes from the fact that he said "I'm bored out my mind... just meat and cheese, ugggghh..." This tells me he just doesn't like the food you have to eat in fairly large quantities as part of a keto diet. People can usually force themselves to stick with a diet they really don't like for a few months but it's rarely sustainable. That said he maybe he'll find some new recipes that allow him to stick to the diet without feeling miserable. Now, Sam on the other hand sounds like his eating habits fit the keto diet well since he said "I find this diet easy as fuck"
They can't let a hamster on the flight because if it gets loose it could chew through wires. That's the same as if they find mice or rats they will not fly until it is exterminated.

I went next level and have moved to a carnivore diet, if you think keto lacks variety, try eating steak for every meal
