  • Patagonia Micro Puff Storm vs DAS Light - Which one is better?
We had some questions from the audience on what the differences were between these two jackets. Both are really great and I use them for very similar situations. Both have Plumafill insulation. Both are waterproof. But... there are some differences. I hope this video explains that!

Thanks Sean & Engearment crew ✨ I find myself coming back to the reviews time and again as my outdoor life evolves. YT should allow for a double-like. Cheers!

Hey Sean I love the videos man! I would love to see a DAS parka vs Micro Puff storm video as they seem similar in warmth and are Patagonias top end synthetic parkas. I’m torn between the two and would love to hear your thoughts on which is worth getting, and I’m sure a lot of others would as well!
    Thanks man!

I'd like to see a blend of these two. Basically the Micro Puff Storm but replace the zipper and exterior material from the DAS light (2 way zipper and no waterproof breathable membrane). Another alternative is the Macro Puff... double zipper, more insulation (should be warmer) and nylon exterior.

Glad I found this video and channel. For an oh crap bad weather jacket for a day hiker/backpack sparingly, which would you go with DAS Parka, DAS Light or Micro Puff Storm?

Micro puff storm seems pretty sweet but assuming you already have a 3L shell, the extra weight doesn't make sense to me ( splitboarding ). I own a DAS light and it might be my favorite layer that I bought this year, also in yellow :) Thanks for the comparaison and review!

Thanks, Sean. As soon as I saw your review of the Micro Puff Storm, I wondered about it compared to the DAS Light, and voila - the next day you had a comparison video. Awesome! I agree with @gnarventure in his reasoning, and I also own a DAS light!

Glad you have the DAS Light, love that jacket. It was really fun to do this comparison too. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see compared!

Seems like the Micropuff storm fits right in between the DAS and DAS light. But I would go so far as to say that it is closer to the DAS as far as weight is concerned. Good use cases: Resort skiing in bad weather. Belaying in cold, wet weather. For anything where a lot of movement is required like ski touring, I would go with the DAS Light and a separate hard shell for a more modular system.

@@Engearment I do, have been for years, I learned 'British Military Club Swinging" from a gentleman in the UK. And have a decent collection of clubs myself. Those look like the old poly clubs if I'm not mistaken, they were the first clubs I bought way back when.
Feel free to hit me up on the topic anytime.
