  • Tyne Tees TV interviews British teen idol Davy Jones, former jockey, actor and frontman of goofy sixties American pop group The Monkees, who John Lennon once called the “Marx Brothers of rock”. They are in London to promote their smash hit single ‘I’m A Believer’ on Top of the Pops. Dubbed the ‘Prefab Four’, the Monkees owed their staggering success to the NBC TV series created around an imaginary band who wanted to be The Beatles, hugely popular both sides of the Atlantic.
