after about three weeks, I've made peace with the keying (keys are a little small/close...initially annoying). Getting to like it. But i still miss my (lost) LG slider.
you can still look at pictures while playing music all you have to do it hit the picture softkey and then hit menu and then press view pictures. internet browers is nice i like it can be slow sometimes.
yes. you can do that. you just need to synchronize your phone with your pc, and get a memory disk for your phone. as long as those two are good, you can put as many songs as you want.

i had my pearl for about a yr and 6 months now.i bought it from at&t,but next week i get an upgrade so ima get the blackberry bold.but ever since i had my pearl i never had any major problems wit it.i also upgraded my pearls system software from 4.2 to 4.5.wit 4.5 u can watch youtube videos from the while on the internet,and the media player is also like the curve.but overall for such an old fone,the pearl can do alot.

All the help customer service could give was to tell me to turn off the phone, remove the battery, put it back, and reboot.

Do you have to pay extra for blackberry services in order to use this phone for calls? Or can you just stick your T-mobile Sim card in and start using the phone? I really need to know this because i'm gonna buy one of these off my friend so someone please reply.
I have a red blackberry pearl from Alltel and its a little bit smaller than Tmobiles blackberry pearl. I love my phone,but the only problem I have is whenever I take photos of myself,they come out wrong. They don't come out straight.
I got it a couple of months ago. It's a great phone. Yes, it's got email, text messages, internet, maps, a phone, etc. My only complaint is that it doesn't play youtube (since it doesn't support the flash plugin). You need to buy a third-party program to convert videos, but it can be done.
i absolutely LOVE THIS PHONE :] i have the white one and have had it for half a yearish? well anyways, its cute, slim, shiny, and EASY to use. i love the sure type texting and can text faster then someone with a full qwerty keyboard. t-mobile is coming out with better phones, i guess, but for now, this is an awesome phone!

because a phone is a phone my dear. It depends upon the user and what they look for in a phone. A 12 year old could have a blackberry. Does that necessarily mean they should or that they'll get the best use out of it? No, but no one will ban them (except their parents). Just as a 52 year old can have a sidekick. So many people feel they are for kids, but again, I say that it depends on the user and what he or she wants. That's why I don't think they are "age-specific"
it does pretty much the same as windows mobile. view all powepoints, ms word, etc. sure on windows mobile you can edit but whatever. its nice to see something different.

what problems are you having with the phone? i am also having problems with it. i had the t-mobile dash before the pearl but something went wrong with the dash so i traded it in for the pearl and it was the worst trade of my life! my phone is like super slow. it takes 10 to 20 seconds to load an unread text message. and the AS key hardly ever works.
You need to buy a data plan for it, for Verizon the lowest plan for basic data plan is $30. Actually to even use this phone I had to buy a data plan for it otherwise it wouldn't "work", I'm not sure if T-Mobile is the same.
now can you go to any web sight or video on the web like desktop? most mobile phones have mobile sights to go to i want to go to my own.like could i look up any video on youtube

hi, i'd like to know if i should get this phone. I'm 16, so i wouldn't have this phone for work stuff like everyone would do with a usual blackberry. i have a few questions: 1- Wi-Fi? 2- how do i check my E-mails? do i have to get something special with the contract? 3- how's the web browsing? BTW: i have a Motorola razr v3, the usual black one. it's good but should i stick to that? since i feel that the reception on that is bad.
I love my new... blackberry... i have the 7130 with verizon and dont have any problems i use it for everything from emails to txt to calls... and even searching the web... quality is great i never have any issues with it freezing up...i love this phone its a phone and does alot more... dont know anything about IPHONE but do know i dont like ATT.... so for me its blackberry all the way... love it
shud get the 8120 its the same look sorta but upgraded with wi-fi , 2.0 mp camera and video camera, 3.5 mm jack , 2 speakers in back instead of 1 , memory card slot is on the outside instead of inside the battery . upgrades is 2 speakers- 3.5 mm jack wi-fi video camera and 2.0 mp and memory card slot on the side on the outside . i have one . i bought one for $67 with charger , headphones, case. way better than the 8100 i used to have!

if u already have a plan and just dont want to renew it get a used or refurbished one on line but if u dont have a carrier at all then no i dont see how to avoid the contract
The Blackberry is a unique design, Im a mobile geek and a camera technician. I can tell you that in minutes of owning a Blackberry I was sold forever. The Bluetooth is certainly different and very clever and is completely understood why it is so. It's a serious mobile 'device' - not just a mobile phone. It's incredibly complex and goes deeper than any other mobile device I have used and I have used many. I am a great fan, and this review was completely and utterly poor.
@jegs41x If you add to many applications it will freeze like crazy I've noticed. If i only have a few extra apps installed its not to bad. Overall the phone just sucks though lol
it just has a button on the main menu if not then go to your main menu(with all of your icons) if not then hit the menu button while in the menu and go to show all then look for your video camera once you get there you can film videos they look better on the fone then they do on youtube..but you have to have a memory card to make videos or else it will not hold them

The 8100, which is the one in the video (based on the date), has a 1.3MP camera. The 8110-8130 do have 2MP cameras.

The pearl's screen is not 320x240. The Curve and 8830 both have 320x240 screen resolutions.
