He didn't pull him, he was letting him know he was there. And the FDJ rider didn't even complain
His name is Ramon Sinkeldam, and he specifically said afterwards it was fair play
7:35 Exactly, it was touch to let know his presence. Competitor had no reason to seek that leftmost position, if moving forward.
i dont know a thing about professional cycling but i loved this documentary! thanks!
Toughest guys in the world
For the controversy around 7:20 I would say that I didn't actually see him pull, instead I saw his hand go up and then sideways, into the FDJ rider's side, in order to make sure that the rider knew he was there are if he kept going they both would likely go down, so it may have helped them both stay in the race.
The FDJ rider has a name: Ramon van Sinkeldam. The defending champion that year. He himself said Mathieu fairly beat him.
Part of the problem is the bend in the finishing straight.
@@peterdieleman303that's not his name. He's called raymond sinkeldam.
@@drunkensailor112 Ha we're both wrong, sorry I wrote this quickly.
It's Ramon Sinkeldam.
@@peterdieleman303 ah lol. Double bad
But back on topic: Sinkeldam would have pushed MvdP into the barriers if Mathieu hadn't signaled him with his hand. Pure self preservation. No controversy at the time and no controversy now. Such a shame you feel like you need to smudge this 'typical' great MvdP victory.
What makes him unique is his enormous capacity to recover during a race. So even when he has attacked, he's still able to win a sprint a little later.
A one in a generation talent with a kind heart and a good moral compass. Enjoy him while you still can.
Great job on yet another cycling documentary. Always glad to see your videos pop up.
Thank you 🙏
This was the one of the best documentaries of cycling that I have ever seen, great video as well as montage, as well as explaining the short story of absolute legend cyclist.
Absolute animal, sustaining wattages that would kill a mere human. Brilliant cycling filmmaking & narration.
Yet, he can't even produce enough wattage to power a toaster. 😅
@@psd9850 you aint too bright, u need to look up how many watts of toaster uses
@@user-xj5xp6qz5g 2 minutes at 1000 watts?
@@psd9850 glad to see you know how to google..so now do you see how you are wrong?
@@psd9850 You are only proving his point.
"It is estimated that over 700 people around the world are killed each year as a result of toaster fires and electrocutions."
Rob Hatch will forever be my favorite announcer for that call and that call alone. Long live MvdP!!!
That 60km/h attack on the cobbles of Roubaix tho…absolute animal.
But there is one other thing that he does brilliantly-the leadouts for Philipsen at last year’s Tour were a joy to watch.
I'm pretty sure Mathieu Van Der Poel just signaled the FDJ rider that he'd pass, he didn't actually pull the FDJ rider, but simply alerted the FDJ rider that he'd pass from the left side, and he needed to alert the FDJ rider since he was pretty close to the barrier
I hope many many people will have a chance to see this video, one if not THE best cycling documentary out there!
I appreciate it.
Fantastic. I only occasionally follow professional cycling, but this story of Van Der Poel was truly epic. Thank you for this documentary.
What a time to be alive, as a cycling fan, and as a Dutch cycling fan in particular.
I am comparatively new as a viewer of professional cycling, your videos are just too good. Almost feels like crying when they win, you make their success feels mine. Amazing job Rifianboy..❤
Finally! Another documentary. ❤
The endless loops of ups and downs, left and right, drains the body and the mind!!!
Love it! Awesome production and narrative.
Best cycling documentaries on youtube!
Wow, what a great video.
So well done.
Many many thnx for this ! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Man, the quality of this video and your who channel is just amazing, keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
National geographic should hire you@@RIFIANBOY
Thank you for this majestic video!
Absolutely fantastic! And just to illustrate, my favorite cycling moment of all time was actually MvdP on Mur de Bretagne, taking yellow for his grandfather Poulidor with an incredible double attack; one to get the bonus seconds he needed, and the second for the stage win. ❤ But such a great documentary; great images as well; dankjewel Hamza!
I love that moment on Mur de Bretagne as well! I’m shivering down my spine when I even think of it🤣 let’s all enjoy this living legend.
Completely agree, that really was totally epic.
I was there when he out sprinted Van Aert tot become world champion cyclocross 2 years ago, and that sure was awesome too, but it was the grabbing of the bonus seconds to just nab the yellow that made the Bretagne stage so special.
What a great wrap up and graphical masterpiece this video is. Thanks for collecting the moments and highlighting them so creatively. !!!
I knew what happened already in all these races... but the way you made this video, the suspense was like watching everything for the first time. Brilliant!
amazing highlight! felt every moment VDP is freaking incredible
Long time no see you RifianBoy! We miss you!
I was hoping to finish this video by early March, but I never get things done on schedule 😅
What a VIDEO man, I liked so much, great job.
Another great effort. Quality is 1,000% like always. thanks guys
Great job on this cycling documentary!
17:45 he was just taking a short breather before his final attack!
Always a great morning getting to watch a new RIFIANBOY documentary!
Thanks for the great video, Amstel 2019 really brings tears to eyes.
Always happy when you upload rifian
What a high quality video with brilliant sports photos, excellent writing, wonderful editing, thank you!
Incredible editing and storytelling, loved this
The funniest sh*t even in pro cycling is that wout van aert's face hasn't ever changed. I guess he was full grown already right after the birth
That is incorrect. Wout even though he is older used to be smaller and less muscular than Mathieu van der Poel until they hit their twenties. He grew a bit taller and became a lot stronger. So Wout changed a lot over the years.
Thank you 😃🤙 really enjoyed that, what an athlete!
Absolutely amazing video! What a great watch!
Van der Poel is a beast!
my goat is mathiue van der poel and you give us the best videos about him. IM SUPER GLAADDDD that you videos pop up on my search of mathieu van der poel best race.
Great documentary! Keep up the great work. MVDP is a beast indeed, it’s always great watching him.
Love videos like this. MDVP is my favorite cyclist even when he’s away from pro cycling.
Would love to see you cover wins from unexpected/underrated riders over the years
Such a good video!! I loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it.
so epic ! great works as every time !
Most of his victories are against big rivals and with a story what makes it so memorable! I really like this new generation of riders instead of waiting for the finish they attack and battle each meter of the race!!
This was great written and made. Thanks!
That win in Amstel is Legendary!!
Nah man, Netflix need to hire this editor for Drive2Survive
Wow to MVDP and your channel! How have I not found you before?!?! Incredible content and subject all around! 👏
Glad you enjoy it
Hamza, your videos are always excellent. Great job as ever.
Thank you
Awesome content as always ,.🎉❤❤
Love your channel and MVDP and WVA 💯
SAGAN the legend ❤
The quality of your videos are mesmerizing
What a legendary story, an epic tale retold so well here. 🔥😎✨
This presentation, beautifully edited, well done, and what a rider!
Super nice filmmaking, please continue doing it. So far the best cycling documentary that I have seen.
"Cycling is a Religion." There's a lot to be said for that statement.
Epic, thank you
Great job!
This channel is amazing
I remember seeing Amstel Gold Race in 2019. My jaw dropped and eyes popped I can surely tell. What a legendary race.
Great video epic moments !
Amazing documentary!!
Great video bud! Please make such short documentaries on cycling more often
legend video, again.
Amazing video!
7:30 van der Poel was definetly not in the wrong. He may have pushed his opponent out of the way, but he was going left and more left almost into van der Poel which is definetly wrong
Yep, that rider is Ramon Sinkeldam who afterwards also said it was fair play
What a brilliant video. Kudos
WOW, what an inspiration!
Allez!! You are back 😃
What a wonderful documentary made for free on CZcams :)
Thank you
Absolutely outstanding video. Congratulations
Best cycling channel out there
Awesome video 🎉
LOOK at VDP in the last seconds - in NO way did he pull or shove ANYONE ! VDP simply guarded his lane to make sure the other rider didn't push him into the barrier. NO foul play whatsoever !
An awesome movie! Thanks
Sick video! 🎉
Amazing video making skills. I was never interested at all in this kind of cycling. This video made me sit at the edge of my seat.
I think that his biggest quality is that he can recover way better and more quick then his colleagues, next to all his other excellent qualities. Mentally he is very strong too.
Excelente trabalho. Parabéns. Um abraço do Brasil.
wonderful. Please post an epic one on Van Vleuten or Van der Breggen!
Great video, you should do another of WVA and Pogi 💪
Great job! Very easy to fall to it.
That’s was badass, putting an arm out to a guy traveling right to left to make space.
Great Performance 💪‼️
What an awesome video. 🎉
I love that your back (can you maybe do a documentary of Wout van Aert)
Thank you. Maybe later this year.
Thats good for me because i know that those documentaries cost a lot of time @@RIFIANBOY
Great video
Inspiring performance!
Very well done 👍!
Im not even into cycling but your documentarys are just sooo amazing so i watch it anyways😮💨
Wout and Mathieu are worth eachotter no matter how you turn it . They both big champions !
en zo is het!
But… the difference between the two great riders is that MVDP is a killer. He makes it off in worlds biggest races.
@@patricks5232 Think bigger bud , think much bigger !
@@patricks5232 Wout is also a killer. He has won so much. But he is just a little less able on steep climbs, where he tends to lose most on MvdP. Also in the sprint, Wout is excellent but sadly for him MvdP can match that when it matters it seems. So MvdP is just even a slightly bigger talent than Wout is, but it is still so close. Thank God, we have seen how boring it gets without Wout like this first half of the season.
Insane story telling and a clear story line good job
Thank you.
Great Doku Button ------->
You cannot pull someone while in a full sprint. It is amazing enough that he was able to let the FDJ rider know that he was there. Fair win.
Love it !!!
why is this giving me goosebumps???
super viedeo gemacht - thanks a lot
Verdadeiramente Van Der Poel ´´e um ciclista exemplar... pra mim ele é uma inpiração para pedalar , parabéns pelo esxelente documentario ficou otimo .👏👏👍
Geez this is TV broadcast quality documentary, crazy! You should work in the industry. Keep on!
cool, like the short Lance input.
Amazing video
Excellent video
