Well you're a wonderful person!
"Enter the Gungeon is kinda slow." Tonic the Sledgedog wants a word with you.
I know right, it really isn't as fast as Nuclear Throne, but there still is a challenge in rooms outside of Bosses, specially in the later floors
@@lagc5103 it also gets faster after reaching a certain point
This dude probably gets killed by the rat!
He also said the game is highly dependent on RNG, even though EtG is one of the few roguelikes you can actually win with your stock loadout and no upgrades.
I had a stroke trying to comprehend Tonic the Sledgedog
The fact that issac has gone from a default-goto to a cult classic made me feel old, what game are kids play these days

Don't be sad that it's gone. Be happy because it happened.
@@luchomojado9422 not a chance... seems waay to short, not a lot of variety and hell no updates in a year or something... pretty sad about it. Definitely enjoyed it but it was abandoned
Who else is grateful when you just click the video and then there's a timestamp and game name on desc
I just watched the entire vid because of that
Risk of rain 2 is so good. I slept so much on it, wasn’t sur rig I would like it but holy shit it sucked me in
Yeah I've put 130 hours into it and still go back. The hope for a god run where the game breaks itself always keeps me wanting to play again
RoR was such a fun game, that the moment RoR2 dropped in EA, I snatched it up at full price.
I know right. I see it so often on my Steam store page but brushed it off as just another roguelite game, until last winter sale when I decided to give it a try. I've already sunk 40h into it since.. SO addictive
Bought it on sale on psn 8 pounds, amazing 10/10
I bought it on ps4 and on steam
Wow, it's such a professionally made video. The mic quality, the overall look and no "ummm" "ah" etc. every two sentences. I just stumbled upon it and as I was watching I thought you had like 1 million subs, at least! I loved the quick, "no useless info" approach to it as well. Keep doing your thing and I hope you grow on CZcams because you sound like a professional reviewer and definitely deserve it.
Thanks, appreciate hearing that!
playing the binding of isaac without enabling the hud that tells you the stats and what item you've picked up is pure madness lmao
That came in the expansion or a mod not available on Steam, easy to miss.
Isaac has always been like this, you had to keep in mind everything that you've picked up. The game doesn't hold your hand at all. It was part of the high skill cap in my opinion. The game is definitely easier now that you have those options, which lets you focus on other parts of the gameplay.
he doesn't know the pure awesomeness of all the dlcs
@@Darkenbox Literally, it's been improved so much since base rebirth
Yeah I always recommend just buying all the dlcs on your first play through of Isaac just bite the bullet because it’s worth it
During the entire Spelunky section I was just screaming ”THERE’S A RUN BUTTON”
I was watching the end of the first Spelunky clip and I was like "AAAAH BLACK MARKET"
Enter the gungeon is just a must play classic
eh, I've played it but it's not my thing, im not sure why tbh, just for some reason I don't like it
@@nepnep1802 same I'm pretty good at other rogue likes but for gungeon i just find it really hard and not that fun
Binding of issac is better
@@nepnep1802 I like game with sword more than game with gun
I got the game back in 2018 put in like 5 hours and didn't touch it. Beginning of 2020 I decided to do a run for the hell of it and I played it 28 hours that week and kept up that amount of gameplay for like a month and a half, while also going to school. Its a fun game but if you aren't good at it, it isn't fun imo.
That feels like an... unfair review of Isaac. A good part of the difficulty is only being able to shoot in the 4 cardinal directions. There are a few items that allow you to shoot anywhere, but they come with their own downsides. I also think that the unknown nature of the items is fun, as it adds another layer of skill; learning what they all do and how they synergize with each other to make powerful combos (such as ludo + brimstone). Plus, even if that’s not your thing, the top mod in the workshop is a mod that tells you what every item does by standing next to it. Granted, to use the workshop instead of third-party loaders you need the afterbirth DLC, but it’s COMPLETELY worth it for the amount of content it adds.
Isaac also shines the more you unlock characters and items. It's also a great time to get into isaac because of the repentance dlc announcement which is planned to be released Q1 of 2021 in which they claim "The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is so huge, so new and so feature-packed that it makes previous updates look like prequels. There are more features, improvements and new secrets, too many secrets, than most games would include in an official sequel! It's an immense amount of new content to explore, even if you're at 1,000,000%!" so go to the steam store and buy it right now!!
You can also use platinumgod.co.uk to easily find info about any item, you can even search by appearance if you don't know what it's called and are afraid of picking it up in case it's bad. So it's kind of a valid complaint but it also doesn't really make a difference and it can also be fun to experiment without knowing what everything is. The first complaint about shooting controls is absolutely unfair as different shooting would totally change the game (in a bad way imo).
The cardinal shooting is a big turn off
Him not even mentioning item synergies in isaac made me upset. That's such a core mechanic of the game, I wonder if he even put time into isaac
@@deadlymoogle2 non-explicit synergies exist in pretty much every roguelike. He didn't mention synergies in enter the gungeon either, nor did he mention synergies in darkest dungeon
What a channel for the CZcams algorithm to randomly throw my way.. it must have heard me talking to my friends in discord about my favorite roguelites! Great video dude
oh no, when the enemies in risk of rain 2 become bullet sponges, you've already lost- the entire challenge is to speed ypur way through the levels and get the items so you dont fall behind on the difficulty curve
The final boss is always like a huge bullet sponge who then kills me in 1-3 hits.
@@hblazer6458 same here mythrix is the only part of the game i dont love
Yeah I don't think I've ever lost to mithrix because I understand that too lol. If I ever lose a run, it's definitely before I would even get to mithrix or because I get sucked into a black hole xd. Just spam dps+mobility as much as you can and you've got a won run basically. Some teddy bears don't hurt :)
yeah, finished the game 10 time already so i just let the difficulty go to insane on 1st round then try to progress. I actually enjoyed it more than speedrunning through the game, but every run is like 3 hours long very time consuming.
clearly this guy didn't even play it for more than 30 minute
Criminally underrated channel for sure. Great voiceover, great editing and informative for someone who's dabbled in the roguelike/lite genre. You definitely deserve more subs

I suggest checking out Gunfire Reborn! Early access with a borderlands feel
I see "borderlands feel" I click buy. I'll have to check it out
@@incog0956 it’s really good. I’ve got like 30-40 hours and still haven’t beaten it with stupidly op gear.
I would also add BPM here - awesome rhytm rogue-like shooter, but yea - Gunfire Reborn is super awesome
I highly suggest trying out “Children of Morta” for a dungeon crawling rogue lite with quite a few different characters to play as. It also has an actual story with lot of voice acting.
Finally, me and the other three COM fans were waiting for someone to mention it.
Yes! I liked this game a lot! Unique and very fun class-based Roguelike
Dude, I was gunna suggest this game as well. I’m playing it for the first time right now and it’s great!!
I was surprised wizards of legends makers didn't make COM
I love darkest dungeon so much not only because I love the gameplay, but because of the art and aesthetic. I really enjoy that Mike Mignola eldritch horror aesthetic. Great video!
Honestly, the artstyle is really great, and I think it's something you can appreciate even if you didn't like the core gamplay
I feel like Wizard of legend is one of the roguelites that's massively polarizing. I personally love the game, and the skill cap is low enough that I was able to play the co-op with my non-gamer girlfriend, but I can understand how some people wouldn't like it given some of the strange mechanics, and decently high knowledge requirement. Love the whole video though, thanks for exposing me to new rogue lites!
I played about 300h + on this game. The first 20h make you addicted like shit. But after you get used to the Hit stun mechanic: Understanding your basic attacks have a little stun, you can just basic attack through every room wihout getting damaged
Nice video, I appreciate the concise reviews and I found a few I had not heard of.
Whenever you say "Classic rougelikes" have started the genre, its more of a modern resurgence. The genre begins in describing games that were similar to UNIX based PC game: Rouge. A newsgroup (email), for players of Rogue (1980), Hack (1982) ever hear the term "hack 'n slash"?, Moria (1983, Tolkien stuff), created and defined the term "rouguelike" and the influence would later lead to things such as Diablo (1997) and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (2005) in between the years. All this comes way before Spelunky (2008) existed. If you read all that history, give a go at Crypt of the Necrodancer, it was unlisted in the video and is a real fun one, play on the beat to reach the stage end, fantastic music. Coin Crypt is a gem in the rough, a deckbuilding style game with lots of characters each having their own ruleset to the game.
I feel like rhythm games appeal to people who like music but don't play instruments. If you do play instruments rhythm games feel extremely tedious often just relying on the simplist of rhythm mechanics as the core gameplay. When you've practiced music to a metronome for countless hours, having that same idea in a game becomes extremely unnatractive.
@@bbbbbbb51 There's a lot more complexity to the game, its a roguelike that forces you to play to a tempo, you can buffer inputs and skip beats, so its not so much about timing or matching inputs as it is the driving force for the game that keeps everything in motion.
Actually really impressed thought i was watching some well known reviewer but seeing your subscriber count you're definitely underrated, nice work on the video
Really nice video!
Edit: I think you should check out Crypt of the Necrodancer, its somewhat but not very old (came out in 2015), but have been enjoying it
Edit 2: If you want something a bit more new, I would suggest Ring of Pain
Thanks! I've heard good things about Crypt of the Necrodancer, but I'm awful at everything rhythm-based so I've avoided it lol. I've never heard of Ring of Pain before but that actually looks right up my alley.
@@InsertReviews ya ring of pain is really good and relatively new, but hasnt made it too mainstream yet
Oh it's published by humble games too. I actually usually check out the indies they publish but missed this. I think I'll pick it up in the winter sale.
@@InsertReviews Ring of Pain is alot of fun, it'll only take you about 5 hours to beat a run of it on normal, but it's very interesting, being more of a puzzle than a fighting game.
Not a huge amount of depth, but a standard run will only take you 15-30 minutes, so it's REALLY good to just pick up and put down, which I think is one of it's greatest strengths.
NecroDancer doesn't require any skills with rhythm, but it's a fantasitc game with an incredible OST. Highly recommend it.
Great collection of comprehensive and concise reviews!
Just wanted to say that you're really good at interpreting and explaining your gaming experience and I wish you the best success with your channel, cause you display really well how the game feels and it allows the viewers to quickly understand if the game is for them or not, something that most channels and gaming markets (steam, epic, etc.) fail to achieve. Congrats!
I recommend buying afterbirth+ for the binding of isaac. It adds a lot of content and several quality of life options, such as being able to see your stats as well as what items you have. Either way, great video!
Dungeon of the Endless is absolutely fantastic. Completely unique combination of genres seamlessly meshed
this is a great comprehensive review of a bunch of stuff. its sometimes super necessary to see how one reviewer views a whole bunch of games in the genre, to get a good take on their criticism/preference
great stuff! im sticking around for more :)
This video was amazing, I loved the attention to every single word you chose to use. Really good job
If you're struggling to find the portal in Risk of Rain 2, there's a particle effect which shows you where the portal is. There are glowing red orbs around the portals vicinity which get denser the closer you get
Great video, you covered a lot of my favorites very accurately and to the point. I'm currently trying darkest dungeon for the first time, your critique hit home on that one. I've played a ton of roguelites/likes since 2011, so here are a few obscure, underrated or possibly just Steam backlog games for you to check out:
Children of Morta, nice narrative dungeon crawler roguelike with tiered progression, very fun for a playthrough or two ( one playthrough is probably 10 hours), but not a long hauler.
Our Darker Purpose: like Isaac with less variety and more deliberate decision making. Slower paced dodge heavy gameplay.
Streets of Rogue: the most varied playstyles I've ever seen in a roguelike. There is progression in terms of character classes(27 or so classes), unlocking modifiers, etc, but it ends up being very skill and knowledge based.
Noita: you are a wizard exploring a cave. Literally every pixel can interact with different abilities and spells, meaning everything can be broken, blown up, acidified, etc. Very freeform with basically no progression, just the classic "one more run".
Finally, my roguelike of 2020, even over Hades, which I adore and play daily... Synthetik: Legion Rising. It's a twin stick shooter with 8 classes, each with their own skills and playstyles. Those classes each have their own perks, of which you select 2 per run, their own guns and gadgets. The gun play is phenomenal once you get the hang of it. You have to manual reload, for instance, and you can't be accurate while strafing or dodging. Very intense, fast paced shooting with a bunch of weapons and gadgets to find each run, each of which somehow manage to feel distinct and customizable. Of all these games, Synthetik is the must play.
Enough of my roguerant, keep up the excellent content dude
Idk if you just made up "roguerant," but I love that term lol. I like your list. I'd never heard of Our Darker Purpose, and while some other people mentioned Synthetik, I think you might have sold me on playing it (eventually lol)
Sseth's Synthetik review sold me on it
Very nice overview and you explained the pros and cons better than most game magazines. Keep up the good work. :)
Man this video really helped me pick the roguelikes and roguelites I want to play, while being entertaining to watch and listen to as well.
I love Roguelike/lites, both classic/traditional and modern, ever since ADOM. You've pretty much covered the modern games. For traditional roguelikes, I would suggest Shiren the Wanderer, Brogue, Rift Wizard and probably ADOM. ADOM will take a bunch of tries to get the hang of. One tip would be to use altars to turn most of your bottles of water into holy bottles.
Interesting, I haven't even heard of these. I'll have to look into them, thanks!
@@InsertReviews I've played adom off and on for close to 20 years probably, I've never came close to completing that game. Its incredibly hard and pretty complex. If you do happen to take a dive into it, I'd suggest watching some videos or reading up a bit before going in. There is a guy on CZcams named Gordon Overkill who has some informative runs and I believe a beginners guide.
@@stevesteve1204 Thanks for the rec, I'll definitely check him out if I end up diving into it
+1 for Shiren and ADOM. And of these more "classic" playstyle roguelikes I would suggest two more: Sword of the Stars: The Pit, and Tangledeep. And if one is curious to see where it all started, and to have context of the evolution of the genre, and it's cousins try Nethack ( the most "current" reincarnation of the barebone OG Rogue).
I find Tales of May'eyal best of classic roguelikes, it took me nearly 1000 hours already, definetely chcek this out too
My fave game is Darkest Dungeon. Now That I heard about 2, this is could be the next
In the mean time, if you haven ‘t seen, check out Iratus Lord of the Dead. It’s a shorter/easier DD style game, where you play as the monsters. I honestly found it to be more fun then DD.
@@Vacoona Thanks. I will try it
I can’t wait for DD2
There's a sequel coming out?
Clear, concise, and interesting. Definitely worth a sub
Great look into the games! Brief and informative
I also gonna add among of my favorites such as Kingdom Two Crowns and Death Road to Canada, idk if they are rogue-like games but since they kinda have similar mechanic where you died you have to restart the whole thing, i think they suit the genre as well..
Just want to say that the way the levels are generated in spelunkey, there is *always* a path from the entrance to the exit. Like that is literally how the game was coded, you will never run into a map where you couldn’t progress and get stuck.
Now, you coouuld drop into a snake pit without any bombs and get stuck in there. But then don’t jump in the snake pit! 😆
Not always.
It is supposed to be it occasionally can softlock you. If you would like me to, I can link you some occasions of it happening.
I really hope you keep grinding what a video. So informative without being dull. Also great editing and voice. Also the format is really cool definitely keep doing this for more genres, or update us next year if you played some new games. Keep it up!
I instantly fell in love with your videos :D
Loved it! Genuinely informative. I would defiantly recommend Noita. It's a 2d roguelike in which every pixel of the environment can be interacted with. For example you can set grass on fire, and the smoke from the fire will collect on the ceiling above you. After the fire burns out if the smoke hasn't dissipated it will start to collect as condensation and drip back to the ground. Definitely check it out.
Thanks, and I've been looking at Noita! It looks really interesting and unique for the reasons you've mentioned. I like the idea of every pixel being simulated and all. I've also read/watched a lot of negative reviews of it though, so it seems like a love or hate kind of game.
@@InsertReviews Cold posting i know but noita is a bit ruthlessly difficult when your getting into it and noita is a bit obtuse with the purpose of it's exploration and secrets so yeah it's a fun time but definitely not for everyone
@@jmanwild87 I think that's what a lot of the complaints I read were iirc. The difficulty exploring and experimenting combined with the punishing nature turned some people off (but clearly not everyone, since a lot loved it).
Even though I very rarely make it past the first area, it's still a great game that I would recommend
@@InsertReviews I love how punishing it is. When you don't keep on your toes you can die even when you are beyond op... to a polymorph enemy.

Btw thanks for the video, looking forward to more content from your channel.
Roguelite are slowly growing more but definitely still a smaller genre haha. And thanks, glad you like the content!

Great video! Simple, objective and cool to watch. I love ROR 2! You just answered several of my questions about some roguelites that i wanna try. Subscribed!
Thanks, glad that it was helpful! I'm planning to do another one of these in a month or two for all the new roguelites I played in 2021
Streets of rogue should go in the part 2.
Hades is such a mind blowingly good roguelite, it just gets everything about the genre right, and has such amazing story, characters, and voice acting. My GOTY for sure.
It's a little too grindy
Great video, I really enjoyed the bite-sized showcases of some cool games in one of my favorite genres as of late. Gave me a nice idea of what I might want to wishlist and what isn’t really for me. Congrats on hitting the algorithm jackpot! You deserve it, subbed
Finally, a channel with a host that isn't a sellout. Much appreciated !
um yeah i have played darkest dungeon, sometimes i would imagine backstories for some of the characters, like i thought that maybe the leaper had a reason to wear a mask, like maybe a friend of his had betrayed him and become the leader of a gang and now he was trying to get close to the gang leader, but had to hide who he was. sadly this just made things worse when my characters died. if you are a human being with feelings. darkest dungeon will make you, angry to very angry.
there are one page comics for each character in the wikia page.

leper has leperosy
I really recommend you play Streets of Rogue. It's a roguelike without a specific gimmick, you just get quests each level which you can complete in a bunch of different ways, you need to complete them in order to progress, and theres a bunch of fun as hell items that help you along with a lot of interactable NPCs.
I saw somebody mention that before but hadn't looked into it yet. I like seeing them inspired by nuclear throne and overwhelmingly positive reviews too. Add it to my wishlist, might grab it during the winter sale
Thanks to CZcams algorithm for recommending this video.. Loving your channel👍🏼
nice compilation of games :) Keep it up!
Synthetik: Legion is my personal meth fix.
I didn’t know Into the breach was an easy game LOL
quite easy compared to ftl, most of my runs end with a victory in into the breach, unlike in ftl
If you use the first couple teams and either of the OP pilots, yeah, its pretty easy. Going for the challenges and unlocks is where it gets difficult
Dang. I had this idea for a video. Fortunate to say I've also played most of these, very well done. You executed it very well :)
Amazing reviews you earned a sub
i have a feeling this channel is gonna blow up
Thanks! Guess we'll see haha
Do you perhaps know Iratus: Lord of the Dead? It's quite a bit like Darkest Dungeon, but with you being the ancient horror, in this case the titular arch-necromancer Iratus, which is trying to escape the dungeon. Combat reminds me of DD, but the progression through the story is a lot more akin to Slay the Spire with you having a map with branching paths. What I like is that instead of having to watch for the stress of your minions, the mindless undead you command can damage the health or sanity of the enemy, both of which being viable playstyles against most enemies.
Great video, Thanks for the CZcams algorithm for suggesting this.
I highly recommend SYNTHETIK since the game just had it last update so it's best time to get into it also it's great Rouge-like with a great community which is kinda rare from my experience :)!
This review was amazing! Deserved like well done
I love how you kept each game to a minute as well as listed pros/cons. Definelty going to watch another video you have on roguelike/lites
Did he call "into the breach" "easy"?!
maybe in easy mode ;)
It is easy.
roguelite/like is generally a very difficulty genre, and so for being a rogue game it is definitely easy. you’re probably gonna complete it or at least get to the final area on your first try (on easy). compare that to for example Enter the gungeon where you can pour hundreds of hours into the game without ever beating the lich
I would highly recommend you to play Curse of the dead gods, i'm stuck on it since the last two weeks, the curse meter on this game bring a new gameplay.
Noita is insanely good too, you always die by stupid way of your own hand, the game is pretty hard.
Gunfire reborn is super early access but still enough advanced to have a lot of fun!
Nicd vids mate, you got a lot of good roguelike on this list
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vids! I'm definitely planning to check out Gunfire Reborn once it gets closer to 1.0 (or just after full release). I feel like a lot of people have a love or hate relationships with Noita, so I'll probably pick it up when it eventually goes on a deep sale lol.
I've never heard of Curse of the Dead Gods, thought, I'll have to look into that one!
Oooh actually I have on my "check later/ after early access" list haha
Well Noita is reviewed Overwhelmingly positive on steam with 22 000 reviews tho ahaha i don't see how you can hate it.
Yeah gunfire rebord is really early access rn, they do still have some work to do on it
Noita is hilarious. I bought it randomly ages back, and completely fell in love with it. It is truly the most chaotic rogue-like game I've ever played. Every pixel in that game CAN and WILL KILL YOU.
Noita also have lots of secrets and the game is actually way bigger than it seems when you start exploring it. (haven't managed to finish a run in 130 hours)
PS: definitely subbed to your channel really cool vid 👌
Great video, you put a lot of work into this and it shows. A great roguelike I recommend is Monolith. Really great game that has a much better difficulty curve than Enter the Gungeon. It has some bullet hell elements, but I find it much easier. Also the DLC is straight up a huge expansion of the game.
That monolith boss fight was nearly the most hype i've ever felt playing a game.
Great video! I've also played my share deal of roguelites and so i'd like to recommend Ascendant . It's a beautiful 2d roguelite game with a focus on core skill

I'd add one thing to the rogue legacy section. Not only is it a classic in the genre, it's actually the game that coined the term roguelite, as other games at the time just called themselves roguelikes.

Great video! Every review informed very well about the game it was talking about in a such a short time! I would consider making short 1 minute reviews and posting them on social media :)
Also I noticed you mostly played roguelites and I think there are some fun rogulikes with lots of polish put into them to try too! Cogmind, Tangledeep and Rift Wizard come to mind. There are also lots of free but great games in the genre like Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup(my favourite), ToME4(also has a steam release with paid for DLCs but the base game is free and awesome)!
Great video! But you did Isaac dirty, that's the GOAT. Also Ziggurat 2, Spelunky 2 (which, unpopular opinion, is a rogue-like series I hate), and Rogue Legacy 2 are out (or in early access in the case of the latter). Some others to consider if you end up doing another video are Noita, Heat Signature, Streets of Rogue, Synthetik, RAD, Gunfire Reborn, Neon Chrome, and Crypt of the Necrodancer. Either way, always happy to see the genre getting more exposure!
None of these games are a rougelike
all your reviews on this games are on point. I can tell that you played a lot of games through out your life because the way you review the games sounds like you know your shit. keep it up!
This channel is going to blow up. Great content man
got this as a recommended and i clicked bc im a huge roguelike/lite fan. I genuinely thought this was one of those high profile reviewing channels like gamespot or ign. But you only have 600 subs!?!?!? Above and beyond quality of the video as well as the content, you have earned my sub my good my man.
This showed up in my reocmmended and after watching it i was surprised you only have 289 subscribers this is high quality stuff
Thanks, glad you liked it! Still small but we're growing lol
@@InsertReviews keep the grind up im sure the algorithm will help you out
Fantastic video. An uncanny similarity to my preferences... You have great taste 😉
Simple and straight to the point, I like that.
Nice short intro and review to the game. As I get older I tend to stick to this turn base rouge-like or deck building rouge-like since I can feel my reaction time withering. Just years ago I struggle to maintain Diamond Rank in OW and Challenger Rank in LoL which when I first playing those games I can easily achieved those ranks without even trying.
That's why I prefer card games nowadays LoR, MTG:Arena, Hearthstone, Gwent, etc.
Yeah I still play a lot of action games, but I find myself drawn to deck-building or turn-based roguelites when I'm tired. Just hard to play some games when you're not at your peak reaction times.
I just subscribed man, it's unbelievable that you don't have a few hundred thousand subs at this point. Quality content in every way.
I strongly suggest Gunfire Reborn - an FPS class based roguelike. It’s in early access on steam. I play it nearly every weekend with a friend. It’s room based with varying weapons and upgrades.
During each run you collect souls and spend those souls on permanent upgrades for a character.
It’s just really well done and very fun to play.
Hey man! Great video and production quality!
Mana spark was my first roguelike and probably my favorite at the moment.
This list has definitely given me some new ones to check out.
i feel like you've been blessed by the algorithm bro, happy for you, your videos are really well made, not you average sub 1k channel for sure
Straight, to the point, with plenty of charm to sustain each view. My 5 second review of this channel.
Currently playing Slay the Spire and i m really surprised of how good it is. It reminded me the love i had for Yugioh cards.
Great content, And I love that you cover some of the bad as well as the great.
Thanks! Yeah I think it's nice to at least hear about the disappointing games even if you don't end up wanting to play them lol
@@InsertReviews I meant that you cover the downsides of games even when you love them. Feels more truthful that way and helpful.
@@BlackAxon Oooh gotcha. Yeah I do that to try to be more helpful like you said, so it's nice to hear that you like that aspect
Great video!
Great contet, rly sophisticated, keep going
This is a well-curated list. I've heard of most of these games, but many of them aren't really up my alley (bullet hells are my actual hell), but it makes me glad to see some of those nearest and dearest to my gamer heart included. I'm very interested in Griftland, the art style really appeals to me and I'm a sucker for rpgs. For once, a CZcams recommendation that was worth the watch!
One thing I'd suggest for any future list videos you might do is perhaps including a cutout somewhere in frame with the name of the game for that section. I found myself a bit enthralled with your descriptions and the gameplay, so I frequently had to go back to remind myself what the game was called. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, it would just be helpful.
Very well made and informative, I agreed with mostly everything in the video, except for what you said about Risk of Rain 2. If you manage your money and time you spend on levels as intended (being fast, not farming too much), you really don't face many hordes and tanky bosses that slow everything down, making the game feel a lot more fluid and fun as you snowball into a good run. The most agreed "best strategy" of the combat is getting a lot of items that take care of a pack of enemies in just a second as you proc AoE damage, so it kinda confused me when you compared it to a zombie game
Awesome video, hope more of these games come for Ps4/Ps5 :)
As a someone who has beaten the Collector without taking damage your gameplay seemed somewhat hilarious.
Even though you know before how to parry (at least partially), which is immensely helpful.
Great video and great idea! This is my favorite game genre. Subscribed. I hope you get lots more viewers and Happy New Year.
Just a quick note about Enter The Gungeon, there is no quick reload, you can reload by either firing while empty or pressing the reload button
Ooh you know what, thanks, that's probably why it felt weird to me. I was probably sometimes firing when empty and sometimes not so it felt inconsistent (but was just me lol)
Found this video out of nowhere but it was a great watch. I think a good tip is to put the platforms the games are on if you do another big compilation of games.
