The Ultimate Roguelite/Roguelike Tier List -- Every Roguelite Ranked [That I've Played]
Vložit
- čas přidán 26. 06. 2024
- Let's make a tier list for every roguelite and roguelike that I've every played. I'll take all 60+ games that I've played that are roguelites or roguelikes. I'll explain what each of these games and explain why I ranking them where I decide to rank all of them. I hope you like this tier list/tierlist, and leave a comment if you want to see me play any other games or if you disagree with any of my rankings. These are all of the games that I've played so far in 2021, so it's a 2021 roguelite tier list or 2021 roguelike tier list.

TIL I say "things like that" and "those kinds of things" a lot. Hope you liked the video, and I might do some more casual content in the future. No video next week probably, but Children of Morta review coming out after that!
You would probably want a 2nd channel for this but you could do let’s plays of games you have reviewed/will review for some casual content.
Risk of Rain was my first rogue light. It’s basic and I agree the time escalation is annoying (especially since it punishes my need to explore everything) but it’s something I go back to and enjoy from time to time.
@@Nate-gt1yv I've considered doing a second let's play channel. Never really jumped on it, but it could be fun to do at some point lol
You should play cavern on iOS it’s a lot of fun it’s a 2d rogue like game me and my dad played it and beat it.
i just came to see risk fo rain 2 and isaac go to top lol
I like your review but I wish you add some footage from the game, I have to search most of it but great video btw.
Say what you will about enter the gungeon’s combat/gameplay (I know it’s not for everyone) but the game OOZES charm. You can tell that the devs really put their hearts into the game because everything is so flavorful, cute, and wacky.
Yes, he should of put it as an s tier
@Dampfkartoffel I get that
True
Enter the gungeon gameplay feels great, i just think it really is tailored for keyboard and mouse and hard as fuck
@@viniciusc.8735 I actually play on pc and prefer controller and Iv beaten the game and unlocked everything.
Once you get used to it is not bad. I found it more comfortable.
I’m excited by this laid back, unscripted long content, also I love videos like this as I’ve been basing what I buy from you these days!
Thanks! Hopefully they're good recs lol
Very useful to see so many games in comparison. By comparing to games I have played myself, I got the impression we like similar things, to it makes sense to listen to your reviews.
I thought u were gonna put Risk of Rain 2 into A tier and i was ready to throw fists xD
I love seeing such different opinions on games, it's so great that there are so many that have been made for us to enjoy on varying levels. thank you for the video! there are so many that i didn't know about. thank you also for explaining the games as you ranked them.
Glad you liked it! Appreciate the kind words
I absolutely adore Noita! Glad you enjoyed it because I sure as hell do.
Yeah, the wand building aspect, is really fun
Have you played armamentho hardening?
@@imsentinelprime9279 All I could find with this name was One Piece related :P
@@NicolasREVA7X yes
its a very not stable game, what do i mean by that? That is completly insane and a fuck ton of fun, you know, until a sniper trick shots you with a propane tank
That is a nice fking present for my Sunday ty very much, 1.12 hour of content to enjoy ❤️
Cool to see such tier list being created and I do like your commentary, but seeing a 30-45s from each game instead of mini covers would be helpful to choose what to try. :)
If you haven't you got to try Crypt of the Necrodancer
THIS!!! And crown trick
also Cadence of Hyrule! (though it does kinda fall under CotND as well)
Crypt of the Necrodancer? First off it shouldnt even be considered roguelike second off it is a filthy casual popular title.
@@greenheart5334 yes, thanks for ur critic on the game and ur reasoning for why its a bad game, much appreciated.
@@kurokofs113 not my fault game was so underwhelming. What did creators think? Also why on earth did they compare their wannabe roguelike to a masterpiece like Spelunky? I am not sure.
I would put Rogue Legacy in at least A+
Going for all the achievements and doing the harder versions of the bosses was quite fun.
You just earn a sub man, great list overall. Also really glad you put Isaac in S+, the new DLC (repentance) literally change the game a lot. Without it maybe it will be S for me.
Good tier list! I feel like Downwell should be A+. Getting 25+ combos by stomping on enemies is just really satisfying to do.
Thank you for this!
wishlisted some of interesting sounding ones
Glad you liked it!
Also wishlisted a handful!
I very much appreciate the time stamps!
You did Wizard of Legend dirty, that game is a gem.
A very strange roguelike I'd recommend is caves of qud. It's a more traditional roguelike featuring very simplistic graphics and animations, but it is a lot of fun and the way gameplay works can be compared to DnD combat. The most fun part of the game in my opinion is creating crazy builds in character creation and seeing how they play out, as building a character involves mish-mashing different crazy mutations together. Some of these include: having an extra pair of arms, the ability to phase through walls, the ability to project your mind into an enemy and use any skills that they have, the ability to fucking quicksave using a mutation called "precognition" which lasts for several turns before asking whether you want to go back to the quicksave or remain in the timeline you created, and more wacky shit like that.
noticed it wasn't on here and immediately scrolled down to see if anyone else brought it up. qud is easily my favorite roguelike of all time
The devs are garbage tho :/
@@Goofygooberston Annoying devs shouldn't stop you from enjoying a game. I don't really like them either but at least they deliver and provide new content, and that's all I can really ask for.
@@sagehanson190 Oh it doesn't, I pirated the game and had a blast. Just never going to financially support them
@@Goofygooberston Hahahaha, well that is one way to go about it.
I was going to get mad that you had into the breach that low. But after hearing your description I actually agree. I think the mechanics really appeal to a certain set of people so they will want it to be S. But as a general roguelike it doesn't have a lot of elements that push replayability or rewarding fun unless you make it yourself by trying different teams and achievement hunting.
Yeah it's a really good game, but you can also easily be done with game in a short amount of time. Still would be one of the first games I'd recommend to new roguelite fans or those looking for strategy roguelites
THATS THE VIDEO IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR i loooove rougelikes and this video is going to show me some new cool games to watch! Thanks man! I wish I could do tier list like this one day
Really great video. Thanks for this, well done.
Glad to see both of the games I've recommended ended up in A+ tier (being Going Under and Ring of Pain)
They were good recs!
Darkest dungeon in a+ feels so wrong to me for me it would be S++ , but I understand . You really need to be into a game like this to like it. It tries really really hard to not be liked lol .
Dead cells is the best rouge I ever played , glad to see in s+
Agreed, small heart break that he didn't rank it as S++, it's a glorious game. but you gotta love a brutal game.
IMO Darkest Dungeon is not for everyone me included. Each run takes way too long and i think most people enjoy a game that last 30 mins - 2 hours per run which is most roguelike. Even tho i think it's a good game (I only have 106 hours in it and only 1 completed Darkest run) but since 1 run takes too long i stop playing it. Still rank A+ for me tho.
I honestly thought that DD would be an S at least
due to the insane ammount of depth and control you have over everything.
even more so with the hundreds of mods available.
but i can see how it definitly isn't for everyone.
it took me like 33 runs of failure before i started getting it.
i put that game down so many times.
@@whyareyoureadingthis1947 "only" 106 hours lmao
Darkest dungeon is S+ as tactical sqad based rouglelike. But the grind kills this game, after 40h I learned that, it killed all.
Great list you earned yourself a sub!
Thanks you so much for the list and explanation. Surprised tainted trail not beeing there.
I love these kinds of videos. Thanks for doing it. Also maybe next do this list for Survival games :)
Might do some other game genres in the future!
@@InsertReviews Great
Pretty good. I just feel like enter the gungeon should at the very least go to bottom s. Late game content is really really fun
This is going to be a banger
Your points on gungeon are fair. It's totally fine to just not be able get into games. I still can't get into nuclear throne. Personally, it's the only game of any genre I've spent over 1000 hours on. It's my legitimate favorite game of all time.
Gungeon definitely isn’t for everyone, especially considering the extreme difficulty, but once you get used to it, which btw takes like 100 hours, it’s not as bad, it’s really fun while still being challenging…but getting to the point where you’re used to it takes…a lot of time. Lots of rage and frustration, but I made it there eventually because I knew the game was good and I wanted to enjoy it.
>gungeon
>extreme difficulty
wat
@@smakes apperantly people can't take avantage of I-frames or something lol.
So you couldn’t get into nuclear throne or is it your favorite game of all time?!?! Which is it?!
I was kinda afraid of the game premises before I played it, I had it on my epic store, waiting for me, eventually I knew that I'd try it even though I knew I probably wouldn't like it cause I don't really like the play-die-repeat from the beginning games, but once I started playing and understanding how it worked, I liked it. I still think it's mega hard and some runs are simply unplayable if the rng is bad, but good game to play from time to time and do a couple of runs
Top 1 reasons why EtG should be S tier:
1. The soundtrack is lit
You should check out Crypt of the Necrodancer!
Great video. We seem to have similar taste in games. Having put two deckbuilders in S+ I think you would like dream quest the original deckbuilder roguelite. It's kinda ugly but It gives you lots of interesting choices through the game. The designer went on to design dungeon runs on hearthstone which I think are really fun.
Thanks! I had heard of Dream Quest once, but I didn't know one of the designers went on to Hearthstone. I'll have to move that game higher up on my list lol.
Welcome back sethbling here
Hey great video. Thank you, I appreciated you defined your scale and what the ratings meant as well as talked about how you were going to talk about the games. I really appreciate it.
Thanks, glad you liked it! Yeah I also always want those thing in tier lists, so I tried to add them in my own lol
Nice tier list, it put me onto a few games I hadn't heard of. You should try Fights in Tight Spaces, it's got a really nice mix of deckbuilding and turn based tactics in a martial arts movie setting. Early access at the moment but it's one of the most promising roguelikes i've played in quite a while.
Haven't heard of that one before, I'll add it to my list!
you've just become my favorite gaming youtube channel
Thanks, means a lot!
@@InsertReviews your content is so good, the trials of fire review made me play it and I had a great time. Structured/unstructured, your vids are great the way they are :)
Thanks! Glad you liked Trials of Fire, has a lot of good gameplay elements
great video man! glad it got recommended to me. I agree mostly though for me gungeon is a surefire S+ though it being my first roguelike I do have some bias
Yeah there is definitely a lot of good content from Gungeon that I haven't seen yet. I should give it more time eventually lol
Woowowowoww tomorrow i look this video. As always (probably) good video!!
I’m glad that Ring of Pain got A+ on this list. I don’t really see anyone talking about it despite it being unique and super fun.
The problem with Isaac is the time required to reach the critical enjoyment point is like 500-1000 hours, when you know what you are doing and recognise most of the items but are still discovering new synergies
Totally agree. I still remember when I had 300+ hours and went around and just picked everything up. Now, with over 700 hours I recognise every item from basegame to afterbirth+ content (and damn, that are many items) but some combinations are still new to me.
If you are at this point, it is just fun to start a run and see what it will become. Before that it can be very disappointing to learn that the item you picked up just destroyed your run because it overwrites certain other effects.
Yeah I was a little disappointed in Isaac at first until I played it a lot more. I look up items sometimes just to make the learning curve easier because I'm impatient with trying some of them out lol. Still, it just has so much variety and replayability
@@InsertReviews Sometimes I think it is a must to look up the items. The pick-up-quotes aren't nearly enough to describe what the items do and even with the exact stats from the second DLC some effects are still hidden. And my little trick is to know the names of the items. If I recognise them and can look them up it is a lot easier.
Shoutout to all the people who do fandoms and wiki pages.
@@newuardfkt huge shoutout to everyone who updates wikis for games. There is actually a mod I used a bit before repentance that shows item descriptions from the wiki in game. I haven't used it since repentance, but I really should reinstall it lol
500-1000 hours is kinda crazy it took me like 200 to learn what every item did
Void Bastards is such a fun game to me and I don’t know what is so amazing about it. It’s so charming and I love the art style but there’s just something about the gameplay that I love. I think it definitely needs a bit more recognition
Nuclear Throne was also my first Roguelike :) Then came The Binding of Isaac. Two really good games, which I have played way too much.
I just want to say that your sentence describes Nuclear Throne almost perfectly: "You could have won, if you knew what you were doing." There are, for me, no bad runs. The Mutations maybe are not the ones I wanted but you can almost everytime get to the throne if you have the experience.
Definitely recommended.
darkest dungeon is amazing game
Noita is the best imo, so much depth to the game and the feeling of getting your first win is crazy.
Yes!! I need this!!
You got a great voice and recording quality for this! I definitely love gungeon, but I get if it hadn't hooked you yet. My other faves are probably Spelunky and Isaac. Just now getting into dead cells as of yesterday
Great list, I pretty much completely agree based on what I've played and have some new games I might check out! I recommend you try Atomicrops! I love it, S or S+ for me but Enter the Gungeon is also up there for me so keep that in mind.
One thing about Isaac is you can break it open completely to the point that RNG has no influence. There is a reason people have 1000+ consecutive successful runs.
It has so much content that it is hard to really see it all, and see all the polish and puzzle pieces lining up, which is why I can understand people not giving it the title of best roguelike- they just havent seen all there is to offer, and its honestly unreasonable to expect people to see it all.
Sinvicta cheated tho
@@enigmafiresup4658 some people suck, true. There is at least one other that has a 1000+ streak
Also eden and the lost are not intended to be beatable consistently imo.
@@enigmafiresup4658 How did he cheated?
@@enigmafiresup4658 break it? wdym? I don’t find isaac very fun because i’m horrible at it
i swear repetance has some kind of evil force that costantly interacts with you in the run, that force is called edmund mcmillen
Very good list, good to have so many games compared!
Great tier list, glad you put monster train in s+ it's so so good. My ideal game would be a roguelite 3rd person shooter where you stack passive but it's like vampire surviors where there is millions of enemies spawning. Exploration to find new items and each character has different skill trees which play off the passive items. Items also change your appearance so you can look totally decked out
risk of rain 2
Looking forward to seeing those subscribers skyrocket- you deserve it man! Watched a handful of your videos today and wrote up a solid wish list of games that I'm confident will keep me satisfied for quite some time!
Thanks, hope you enjoy the games!
i would very confidently recomend you Streets of Rogue (though tell the truth im not sure if it counts as a rogue-lite persay) . almost akin to deus ex if you're into that. absolute blast if you're into that kind of thing
Pretty cool review, chill and well detailed. Kinda disappointed to not see One step from Eden and Barony in the list but understandable as they're not very well known.
Please add my favorites: "Rampage Knights" and "Son of a Witch". Great video BTW :)
Nuclear Throne I have always considered the OG, so much variety to offer, so much satisfaction, great background story and worldbuilding, I think I even put it higher than Isaac, I think it was the first Rogue-Like that I had experienced I believe
Other than risk of rain 2 not being in its own S++ I agree with your rankings of the games I have played. I can definitely see how racing against time to try and stay on par with the enemies can be very frustrating. I’ve definitely had my fair share of runs that I’ve fallen too far behind to continue. I really enjoy how the game makes me push myself to try and finish stages as fast as possible while still getting enough loot. Dead cells, Hades, and Slay the Spire are all so good. I’ll definitely refer to this list when thinking of playing a rougelite game.
But not hades, please
Man puts chapters for each individual game. Commitment!
It's what I would want for watching, so it's what I put myself lol
Wizard of Legend. I don’t have a ton of roguelikes under my belt but I adore the combat system in this game. It’s the type where attacks are all about the combos and figuring out the optimal order to use your spells while weaving out of enemy attacks all at the same time is always so satisfying to me. Not to mention the cursed relics add to some level replayability.
The combat system is extremely interesting, but it's one of those games where it feels like it shouldn't have been a rogue. I would have loved a tightly crafted linear experience with this kind of gameplay. Its rogue aspect doesn't really bring anything interesting to it besides sometimes allowing you to experiment with unusual spells and them not having to focus too much on spell to spell balance.
I highly recommend Synthetik. Top down shooter with that Sci-fi esque theme with a ton of weapons and progression. Multiple classes to work through. Not much of a learning curve. Personally one of my favorites.
Very nice set of recommendations and chill analysis, I think I can't really agree with Darkest Dungeon not being S+ but the rest I think it's a fair assessment. Good job!
Thanks! Darkest Dungeon made me way too frustrated at times to rank higher lol
Darkest dungeon just feels so slow. Like he said just grindy and pretty brutal. If you look at what his S tier and S plus tier you can see how his preferences wouldnt mesh well with the grindy slow gameplay of darkest dungeon
@@instrumentalist1294 Yeah the grindy nature definitely made me rank it a little lower also
Ruin has come to our family
@@instrumentalist1294 well overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

Also, I’d highly recommend Death Road to Canada. It’s older like FTL but it is really fun!
Can confirm! This is an amazing game!
That game have Big Chungus in it
One more for Death Road ♥️
i really bad at that game, but when i finished the game its feel amazing
Huge fan of death road here , I finished it in all difficulties. Best rogue like ever for me
My favorites are: death road to Canada, darkest dungeon and enter the gungeon
Edit: oh and hades
Btw I just bought risk of rain 2 and I’m having a really good time
thanks a lot for this video perfect not having to go through like 10000 videos to find what games are good that have no explanation to why they are even good XD this helps thx !
Glad you enjoyed it!
please do a full video review on Scourgebringer!! one of the best roguelikes ive played recently
The only thing i don't agree with is the "heavy rng" in Isaac. Yes, you can get bad items but the game has so many mechanics that you will always have multiple ways to acquire items and basically negate all luck factor. A skilled player will win 99% of the time unless the 1% of the time where you get worst bosses back to back and 30 quality 0 items back to back which will probably happen once every couple of months. But even then, base stats and some bombs are all you need to beat the game. It's not rare to see winstreaks of hundreds, if not thousands. Which basically means you can get hundreds of consistent runs with success and therefore the rng is never a factor you absolutely need to depend on. As you unlock alternate routes, items and options, you'll always have a reliable way to save even the unluckiest runs. The game is huge.
You should definetly try One Step from Eden, absolute class game
I have it installed, but need to give it a spin. It's near the top of my "to try" list!
One Step from Eden is pretty fun!
@@InsertReviews you should also try atomicrops
@@izbacks4860 I own it as well! Definitely planning to dive into it soon (ish)
I definitely need to check more of these out, the only ones I’ve played are enter the gungeon, hades, nuclear throne, Spelunky HD/2, slay the spire, and dicey dungeons (the first 4 are some of my favorite and most played games of all time)
Great list! Great channel! Keep us up to date on the hidden gems!
You could try Star Renegades! Its on the game pass and it's pretty different, at least in the gameplay itself.
Also: Please set a date, place and time for our duel over putting Enter the Gungeon anything below S+
I just downloaded Star Renegades lol but had to stop mid tutorial for some reason. It's near the top of my to play list
Lol 1v1 Rust tomorrow. I definitely plan to play more Gungeon again at some point. It's just so highly regarded that I know that I've been missing a lot of what makes it great
@@InsertReviews Oh cool! I think you'll enjoy it, at least enough to get to the end for the first time.
Dont worry about gungeon haha the cool thing about this genre I think is that there is no "clear winner" (except for maybe hades haha) they can be so different that everyone can find some that resonate more than others.
Yeah I agree, there is so much variety in the roguelite genre. Lots of different and unique games that are fun to try and experiment with
excellent list.
As personal preference I would push Darkest Dungeon, FTL and Slay the Spire one tier up each.
Yes, I know, Slay the spire is S+, I still think it should be one tier up! So many possible deck synergies that feel OP when they click together, and yet so punishingly hard. An absolute beast of a game.
Thank you for this list.
Super cool. I think it would be kinda fun if you ranked your S+ and S tier games after you sort them all, from favorite to least favorite.
Thanks so much for the timestamps! Here to confirm Hades is such a pleasant mysterious greeky-cool game deserving a S+
Give synthetik legion rising a shot. Amazing gameplay which is the main draw, along with very limited progression.
As a player with 500 + hours in Synthetik Legion Rising, I can definitively agree.
Have you tried Streets of Rogue yet? The game is about doing missions in a procedurally generated city where you have to utilize various weapons, bombs, potions, gadgets, people and many other stuff to complete missions. The game is very hard to describe because its one of a kind game for me. Most players compare it with Deus Ex but I haven't played that so, I don't know how similar it is.
I have not yet! I have it downloaded from gamepass but haven't booted it up. It definitely seems like a unique game and has some strong fans. I plan to try it eventually!
@@InsertReviews you have to play it co op way better that way even though it’s still great single player
Nice vid! Have you tried Neon Abyss? I'm currently playing that atm it's decent. I'm basically just waiting until Hades comes out on PS4 this month. Cannot wait!
Thanks! I've given it like half a run lol. I'll try it more in the future, but hasn't been near the top of my list. From what I've seen people say, it's generally considered a good game, but not one of the greats
I feel the same way about Nuclear Throne, haha. I don't *think* most people would think it's as good as I do, and yeah it's steeped in nostalgia... but god damn the weirdness, the charm, the music and sfx, and especially the game feel is just so fun and satisfying on a base level.
And it doesn't matter how many runs I do, I still have to steel myself not to panic when Lil Hunter drops in
Enter the gungeon is my fav roguelite lol, I just love the bullet hell area and the chaotic nature of the game. By the way, have you fought the rat and or lich, as they are the best and.most engaging multi phase fights in the game. Advanced dragun is cool too but he is really chaotic
ETG is my fav roguelite but the bullet hell level is just awful LOL
@@cristiankinzel9529 this level is way too long and labyrinthic
If you haven't tried it, Dungreed is a really good option as well. If i were to rank it Id put it A+ maybe S depending on style preference
It's on my (super long) list of roguelites to try when I get a chance!
Glad, you played Children of Morta. :)
really great content
Always appreciated!
I'd really recommend Dungeons of Dredmor, that game rocks!
That game with mods is amazing!!!!
Great list overall! I've only played ~half of these, but I would swap Monster Train with RoR2, drop Griftlands a couple tiers (it just didn't click for me) and Void Bastards up to S tier. Love the humor/art style of this one.
same, ror2 and etg hold a special place in my heart
Same, Griftlands is so tedious in my opinion. I don't know why but it is always tiring playing this game.
Monster Train is fine in S+. Just as amazing as Slay the Spire.
Monster train is a gem. It doesnt look very appealing but the Gameplay loop makes you feel op and broken on purpose. Its just that good S+ no doubt
I agree with this list, the only gripe I have is I believe Darkest Dungeon is an S+ Tier game, the grind part is negated by playing in Radiant mode. But i'll respect your opinion on it. Can't be everyone's favorite!
This list is amazing for me, a person that didn’t know what roguelike was until I stumbled upon risk of rain a month or so ago. This genre is a breath of fresh air for me. There’s more quality in here then I could ever play but I just picked up dead cells, noita, enter the gungeon and darkest dungeon.(thanks steam sales.) here we go!!!!
That's a good selection, hope you enjoy them!
Have you tried Streets of Rogue? It's a really awesome and unique spin on rougelites/roguelikes.
omg streets of rogue. yes
I'm surprised you've never played One Step From Eden. 2D tile based action combat game (if you've ever played/seen the Mega Man Battle Network games, literally that) with deckbuilder elements.
I have it downloaded! Need to actually give it a go lol
One Step From Eden is one of the weirdest game I've ever played, and one of the best. I'll never forget it. It's tough at first, but once you start to master it a bit it's very satisfying, it feels as if I'm using twice my usual brainpower just to play it decently well. Never finished a run tho, final boss is a bit too hard for me if I remember correctly. I should try it again some day.
Nice video.
In my opinion, Wizard of Legend is underrated.
Love this idea, since I've considered doing the same recently lol, w/ my 20~30 roguelites/likes played. But I've only actually "beat" a handful of them. The rest I played maybe 1-3 hrs. So it probably wouldn't be fair.
Can always make one with your own rules! I've gotten a clear (or "beat") on ~90% games on this list, but there are still a couple I haven't played as much as others
Only one I disagree with is Darkest Dungeon. I'm not really a fan of turn based games outside of the odd card game but DD is an amazing game imo. The art, music, and atmosphere alone is just.. unmatched by anything else on the list imo, except _maybe_ hades.
Best roguelikes I've played you should check out are Monolith (top down shmup), Gloom (sidescroller soulslike), Scourgebringer (fast-paced action platformer), Neon Abyss (kinda arcadey but still fun), Caveblazers (Spelunky but actually fun) and other not the same level of greatness but still good: Neon Chrome, Stellar Interface, A Robot Named Fight, Atomine and Starward Rogue.
is spelunky not fun?
Very reasonable list imo
Enter The Gungeon is S+ tier for me though
I was sure with how much i was agreeing with ur tierlist that you HAD to have put Wizard of Legend in S or S+ tier lol.
But i definitely get what you mean, my first impression with the game was quite negative as well. No i-frames, enemies can be relentless and a group of small guys can just hitstun you to death, barely any healing, didn't even tell you what relics did what until you purchased them. It was a very rough and unfriendly design but man once you get past that initial hurdle and you just 'get' the game, this game is phenomenal, the action is insanely heart pumping and challenging, hundreds of unique spells and relic combos to keep runs fresh. I think it's definitely the type of game that gets better and better the more you give to it, probably why it has such a niche but dedicated fanbase. imo in terms of combat, it stands above any other roguelike I've ever played (dead cells, hades, etc.)
I can understand disliking any game but for me ETG is a 10/10 in all categories + there's so much extra, more challenging content you can go do at any stage in the game
The one placement that bugs me is FTL not in S+. It’s a matter of personal preference ofc, but for me FTL would top the S+ tier along with Slay the Spire and Hades.
FTL is also only a few bucks most of the time. It should have been a top dog for sure.
Great list! You really need to try Nova Drift! S+ TOP 5 for me
Wizard of Legend is definitely a game where once you get used to it it becomes super fluid and versatile game with a ton of flexibility, it can take a while to get used to though
I'm surprised there's no reference for Synthetik in this list
a tier tbh
I'd recommend trying Neon Abyss(You would probably like it) and/or Flinthook(It's a bit flawed but I still think its worth playing to review it)
One game that's not on this list is west of dead, it has a great light and shadow art style.
That mixes with the gameplay, to play kinda like the gun part of curse with a unique cover system that I think people should try.
Realm of the Mad God is incredible, gotta recommend
hey a rotmg fan, there are dozens of us
