Today I want to celebrate Roger Corman, one of those most
prolific filmmakers of all time. Few people have made as many films as Roger Corman and when you think low budget exploitation film,
he’s the king. So today we honor the king! Director of over 50 movies and producer of more than another 500, Roger Corman has contributed so much to the film industry and is someone I think more people in the mainstream should know about.

*_Did Corman never do Lovecraft?_*
*When are you going to review the Soulja Boy Console??*
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.

Roger Corman sadly passed away at age 98 on May 9. May his fabulous creations live on. ❤
Mr. Corman passed away today.
RIP Roger Corman - The King of B movies (1926-2024).
Farewell Roger, thank you for EVERYTHING.
RIP Roger Corman
Jeez James, you nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought Corman had died!
Same!
The quickest search I’ve ever done lol
Me too I went on Google
He is 96.
Me too.
Just like the Mel Brooks video, I for a second assumed the guy died. It's cool that James pays tribute to living legends he loves
@@markdavid40 jim milton
The man just passed away at 98 years old, and it still feels too soon.
I got some bad news
Mr Corman is one of those figures that deserves more love for his contributions to cinema, culture & entertainment as a whole
RIP
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
I'm not that deep of a cinephile enough to have seen most of the dude's movies but his credits speak for themselves and his students as well. Dude deserves all the respect.
Even if you haven't seen a lot of his work you've certainly heard of plenty of them.
Corman is 92, both of his sons are litigiously suing him, and he’s STILL MAKING FILMS. Complete legend.
He is 96
A couple of those litigious suing's ey...
imagine suing your dad over some nonsense. scummy.
What are they suing him for?
@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine Money, of course.
"We have a castle and Boris Karloff. Go."
This. This is genius.
I'm currently watching ALL of his movies, I'm on 1957 now. I love Corman!
Haha.
Corman hates being called "The B Movie King", but I think he should wear that title with pride. People genuinely love his work!
Nothing wrong with Bmovies. B movies usually have a bad rap because of films like Sharknado. But to me B movies just mean "not A-list movies"
i think "b movie" holds a different meaning now than it did in his era
Better than being the king of C-movies.
He prefers king of exploitation Cinema.
This guy's produced almost as many films as James Rolfe, incredible!
As if we're not aware
?
It never fails to surprise me that he started so many stars onto their careers, and special effects artists we take for granted today, such as James Cameron.
RIP to Roger Corman
I met the man several years ago at a film festival and had a chance to chat with him briefly. He's a lovely man and a joy to listen to. Off all the film people I've had a chance to meet over the years, he's probably my favorite.
No matter if you love, or hate Roger Corman's movies, there is no denying the mark he's left on decades of cinema. 👍
I absolutely love his works and you're right no denying his legacy on the cinema
Who hates Roger's Movies???
My biggest idol in cinema, i don't care what people think about his movies, he is the man, a true artist.
I still get surprised whenever I see his name pop up in films. I watched Dementia 13 a few days ago for my Halloween marathon and it was a delight to see his name in there, even though I wasn’t that much of a fan of the film itself. Hail to the king… of B-horror!
Corman has probably trained more successful actors and directors then any film school ever could. He saw the potential in people and was willing to take chances.
Ed Wood got Bela Lugosi, Corman got Karloff. This could have been an amazing crossover.
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
October is the best month for TRUE cinemassacre content!
Paper, watch the original "The Haunting." No blood. No gore, and it will scare the you-know-what out of you.
Rip Roger corman
R.I.P. Roger Corman(1926-2024)
“King of B-Movies”
You made my nervous, thankfully Roger Corman isn’t dead.
The US cinema should give this legend the highest honor they could give while he's still alive...he's more than 90 years old and still strong.
It's great to see everyone is in the Halloween mood.
I like these kind of videos where James talks about something he's passionate about.
Me too , or the other side of the coin when we get some real anger
@@kevinrhea7332 Yes. Anger or frustration. But this is a welcomed type of entry on the catalog, even if it seems they don't get that many views.
I always enjoy James' take on anything you can tell he really enjoys what he does which is important.
This video is especially important now, thank you for putting this together
RIP Roger. You were one of a kind!
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
Corman really helped to inspire my imagination. Great video covering him and his projects. :)
Thanks to this video I immediately after found “Corman’s World” on CZcams to rent and am still watching it. Great Doc! Want to find the “Intruder” next. Sounds to be a significant piece of cinema history.
Corman's one of my favourite filmmakers. His '50s monster flicks do nothing for me, but I was won over by his Poe films. They, along with _Bride of Frankenstein_ , are the pictures that convinced me cinema is a legitimate artform.
I wish M. Night Shyamalan would have gone full Corman and made like 100 crazy movies in his unique style
The king of CZcams monster movie fandom honors another king. Bravo. I also grew up on Corman's cheapies going way back to the horror-host shows of the 1970s.
The only two 50s sci fi directors still alive. Roger Corman and Bert I. Gordon.
I got freaked out for a brief period and thought Corman had passed!
Same here, phew.
Dude, same. Wth.
RIP to the Legend. 98 years of awesome.
Excellent. I'm loving this year's Monster Madness.
Hey that was a great video I didn’t know much about him until now. Thanks man!
In Corman's biography he states the only film he ever lost money on was The Intruder. Just one film! The man was amazing!
Corman unwittingly gave so much to my favorite show, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and its spinoff, RiffTrax.
Great video. About to do the biggest binge ever on Rogers work.
Corman is the man!!!
Man, I really hope he gets to watch this.
Great tribute! As others have mentioned, listening to James talking about things he loves, no matter how obscure is pure youtube gold
James kept talking about him in the past tense, but I was surprised to see he's still alive and kicking at 96.
I have so much respect for Roger Corman. His body of work is legendary.
man, I've been enjoying and interesting in B, low budget, exploitation films a lot lately. I always heard the name Roger Corman when I look in into the b movie scope, now I even more surprise that he was the one that inspired a lot of people in the filmaking business. such a great video from you James, I always love it when you talk about movies & stuff around it, it's always inspire me :)
Roger Coreman is legendary, thanks for great vid!
Sincerely, thank you for shedding light on this amazing director and producer I've just never heard of before. Your video definitely made me want to check out his movies, and it just amazes me how much influence he has while not being a household name. He definitely deserves more recognition for the stuff he's made.
I love this trend you're doing of paying tribute to people /BEFORE/ something happens
Great video! Roger Corman deserves a spotlight. Not only did he pave the way for countless to follow but he made legit great films, especially the Poe cycle ones!
RIP Mr. Corman
I've been really enjoying your Monster Madness series this year. Thank you, James.
Gotta love monster madness. My favorite show of James’ next to board James.
Great director and great monster madness episode!
I absolutely love those videos. You helped me discover a lot of really cool movies I wouldn't otherwise. Thanks dude!
James Rolfe presents his latest film My Tribute to Roger Corman, an adaptation of Roger Corman's wikipedia page
Great video James!
R.I.P. Mr Corman,
Thank you for a lifetime of entertainment and for making great childhood memories for us all!
Jesus, James, I immediately looked up whether or not he died.
More tributes should be made while the person is still alive so they can see their own tribute. I hope Corman see this.
Stuff like this is the James Rolfe we deserve, deep insightful dives into not only cinema history but those who built that history and influenced the future of filmmaking. Love when you do this sort of content!
keep up the great work james love love the content
One of the most impressive things about Corman is that he never lost money on a movie.
Absolute Legend
Great tribute.
RIP, Roger Corman! ❤
Great Video James! Bucket of Blood is my favorite. Corman is King. Hope to work with you again some day!
P.S.- Thanks for another great video James, it makes October cool during the lead up to Halloween.
🎃 👻 💀
What an utter legend. My favourite filmmaker being talked about by my second favourite filmmaker
Great tribute , James !
Terrific! I love b movies and new Cinemassacre!
I showed my friend Twice Dead (1988) the other day and he loved it which lead him down the schlock rabbit hole that is home to Corman and his greatness. Gonna send this video to him, next.
THIS is the James content that I need.
Danger Mouse!
This was so sweet and inspiring!!!
Thanks James for all the years of great content! Being a fan since the beginning!
Wasted that ¥200 😂
My old boss & this tribute is BEAUTIFUL
Respect to Mr. Corman a Legend of the Industry James another great an informative video love your content
James, this is awesome!
Love this video! Would love to see more like it!
The story of Roger Corman really makes me wish I went to film school and surrounded myself with people who wanted to film anything.
r.i.p. ROGER CORMAN :(
I fondly remember back when Mystery Science Theater 3000 was airing and you could watch them riff on an old Roger Corman movie, then flip through the channels and end up watching a new Roger Corman movie. Those were fun times to watch cable.
Cinemassacre really had to scare me like that with the title. I'm glad to see Roger get more and more appreciation all these years later
The absolute king of B-Movies. William Castle began the royalty class of genre flicks, but Corman defined it for decades
James is so modest. He listed a lot of great film makers who we might not have, but he didn't list himself. I'd be willing to bet, that without Roger Corman we might not ever have AVGN. And what would the internet look like then?
You rock James, I am loving Monster Madness this year!!
Really nice way to celebrate the guy. What a real legend.
Man he’s the guy who paved the way for the 🐐
Such an inspiration. His drive to just keep making movies…and being able to kick-off the careers of several others!
James! Could you please do a review of Hatchet or the series itself? I remember you showing a clip of it years ago as an intro to another Monster Madness video, and have been waiting for something since. It fits perfectly in reviving the old-school slasher movies with many horror icons
You should do one of these about James Whale. I think his movies are very entertaining and are mostly regarded as golden era classics.
Great video! A master of cinema.
R.I.P. Roger Corman 5/9/24.🎃
My favorite film he made was not a horror film. He produced and directed The St. Valantines Day Massacre. It is truly a great, unbelievably historically accurate movie.
