How does honouring the architects of geno/ cide help with reconciliation?
Kenney commissioned a statue of Churchill as Imperial oil covered up their business decision to release toxic chemical waste into Indigenous land. So help me understand how our gov is really trying here?

Don't forget what happened to the statue of Edgerton Ryerson! The University ran and hid from this terrible act and went so far as to change its name.

So u mean an architect of colonial geno/cide should be displayed proudly... Next u will be calling for a statue of Epstein or Trump touching his daughter....... geno/cide & in-cest must be "family values" for u... as u seem to not understand these historical figures or their crimes but u do seem emotional. Like someone who has no clue.

Statue doesnt just represent an individual it represents a time in History which may have been good for the country or bad for the country, the important thing is it keeps the conversation going to improve life in the country for all. You pull down a Statue it means you burnt the book!!!!!

I can consider what you say. You make a good point, if it's there, then we aren't hiding the truth, and a statue can remind us of what happened at that time. Well said.

Have u every stepped foot in a museum?
Do u know what role a museum curator plays?
Statues outside gov buildings reinforcing historical crime is not an educational museum.

@@turkeytrac1 Hmmm.. So u stare at a statue to learn history? Do u study the cast, the height of the statue, the expression on the face? U must be a true historian with all that observable knowledge from a statue. Now tell me, why do oil companies use the same tactics as the Hudson Bay company in the 1880's to divide us?
I'm sure u can learn a lot about history from staring at a statue... while doing absolutely no work to understand history.

A one page book, many US civil war status were put up in the 1960s as a way to intimidate black Americans.
