Are, another nice project, but I understand your frustration in building built-ins in an old structure. Our first house was an old farm house and there was nothing that was plumb or square. It was probably built in the late 1800s with all rough-cut lumber and no one owned a square or a level. I could not just build it square and expect it to fit. I used a lot of shims when i remodeled the house and did a lot of scribing to fit. It was such a pleasure to work on built-ins in our new home that was square and plumb. You just have to adjust your thinking to handle the conditions. Keep up the good work!

Great unit. To hide the gap on the wall, you could install a wooden cornice along the vertical length and also along the top of of the double architrave so that it provides a little extra support for the shelf. Just a thought

You can make it fit too the wall by scribing the edge that contacts the wall and cutting it to fit.

Hi Are, Greetings from Ireland! That is a great job, well done. Looks very professional and with a job that large there will always be some minor snags that have to be fixed.
So well done and I think you should open an Etsy shop selling small items of furniture that can be easily put together, like small stools, wooden plant holders, wooden candle holders and even flat packed shelves, that kind of thing. And put a link to your shop in your videos!
Your audience would buy your stuff.

I would like to see you do more, if you don't have a special project lined up to do then maybe you could do some videos of making things that you use in your shop like a router table or other tools. I would be interested to see tools made with your point of view. Would also like to hear your narration and less music although I do like the music. Great job.

I love the scandinavian aesthetic- clean lines and subtle details! The pale wooden floors along with the exposed beam painted ceiling and their contrast to the black of the corner of that room, so pleasing to my eye. Great work Are, good to see you :)

The doorway that has the long shelf above it, if you put some trim around the door frame like the other door way, that may hide the fact that it isn't square, what do you think? hard to really tell from a video shot.

Thanks, Bill! 😊 You’re right! If you look closely at the thumbnail of the video you can see that we have added the trimming now. We ended up moving the shelf up a bit, so that it is parallel to the doorway. It looks a lot better 👍🏼
