Hi Are. I admire how transparent you are concerning your business, it must be applauded. Congratulations on a profitable month!
Thank you, Karlos!
How about you? I hope you share your ideas too!
Your willingness to share ideas, cost and profits is commendable. Thank you
Brother, thank you for sharing your knowledge it's really appreciated. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, man.. Just thanks..
You make me believe, the way you cook this down is highly educational.
Love your transparency Aare! I'm investigating if maybe woodworking from my small garage could be a way for me to work less hours as a anesthesia nurse since it has left me burnt out two times over the course of 3 years. This type of project actually seems possible even from a garage, but obviously I have to secure the sales too... Thx for the tips on that!
Thank you! Go for it, and let me know if I can help you in any way :)
Work LESS as a CRNA?? How is that even possible? All you guys ever do is manage the music in the room and fill out crossword puzzles 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@hopnmeemaanesthesia nurse not a CRNA. Do you not know the difference between those 2? 😂
God bless you! You've opened my eyes to new ideas!
Glad to hear that! God bless you!
Man I learned much more than I thought I was from this video I appreciate you for sharing your knowledge on this!💪🏽💯
Glad to hear that!
Glad to see the handles on the cutting boards are in line and do not have hand holes. Most boards I've seen have the HH's and if dropped will most likely break at the handle.
It looked like you were seasoning the boards with vegetable oil. I have been over the last 4 days adding a flood coat of oil to a board my wife bought. After about 12 hours I have noticed all the oil absorbed into the board and the surface almost dry looking. 713 Woodworking uses a pan that his boards will fit inside and he submerges his boards for a day or two. I should have taken his lead on that.
Hey Are!! Thank you for the great info!!
I'm also trying to get my own woodshop off the ground here in Seattle, WA!
Your channel is one of my favorites!
That is awesome! Best of luck :)
I just got my P2 set up a few weeks ago. it is AWESOME, looking forward to getting it ramped up into production mode :)
Awesome! Have fun :)
Thank you for sharing, Are! Very informative and useful. Good luck after the holidays!
Thank you, Cindy! Happy new year 🥳
Genius idea.
great story! good luck with further sales
Excellent video! Glad your business is going well and growing!
Thank you!
Tusen takk for inspirasjon :)
Good Job Brother. Nice breakdown of how everything came about. Great idea for a seasonal project. Hopefully, your evergreen projects will turn out as well, or better.😎🤓🤠
Thank you, Scott!
You did a great job. Hopefully your new product will sell well. Good luck
Thank you, Hans :)
Great video Are! you are the cutting board man! They look really good. Thanks for the shout out in the video made me laugh out loud. Hope you had a great Christmas and good luck for 2024
Thank you, Steve! I hope not, this will be the last cutting board video for a while.
No problem! Just waiting for the sponsor money from TNM now 😎
Happy new year, Steve! All the best to you, your channel and podcast 🥂
@@AreBaloniYou to I hope 2024 is a great year for you. I’ll see if Pierre has any cash left in the TNM bank account to pay out some sponsorship cash or if he has spent it all on new tools
I am from Brazil and I am starting a a cutting board business. In my case I am going to make the boards myself and it seems that you are one step forward! Nice video!
The smell in there must be heavenly man.
thanks for sharing :)
I think that it only makes sense to batch out relatively common items such as cutting boards in this way. Buying an unfinished product in bulk, then finish the rough product, customizing it for resale is the way to stream line the production process. If I build a piece of furniture, I'm not going to make the hinges, handles, nails, screws, or whatever else I can buy cheaper than make myself, I'm gonna buy those items at cheaper rate, and incorporate them into my product. It's Smart. If someone else is making something in rough form, and offers it for sale that way, knowing that others go are going to finish them, customize them, resell them, go for it. You're working backwards if you don't.😎🤓🤠
All lot of violins are sold this way. They are bought "in the white" or "rough" as you put it. Then they are refined, labeled, then resold.
what a good video. thanks
Great work Are. Great to see your enthusiasm and ingenuity. Lykke til med alle fremtidige ideer. 👋
Tusen takk!
Good work buddy.
Thanks for posting! Great video and advice
Thank you, Daniel! Thanks for watching :)

Do you have the link for the pre-made boards in bulk? Only finding small ones
tak for et super godt video, Hilsen fra Færøerne, God bless
Hi Are! I love your chill attitude. You got many nice tips and tricks that I like. My dream is to have a living salary of woodworking. Thank you for the inspiration 😊

Very informative post, where did you get your cutting boards from? Thank you.
good ideas
You are legend! Greetings from Herzegovina!
Good luck with your endeavour's, you","ve outlined some interesting ideas.
Thank you, Ian! And thanks for watching!
i dont know if you need this idea but i thought about kitchen/furniture door knobs and handles. I allways just change the handles and it makes the furniture so much better (instead of buying a new kitchen)
You’re really inspiring, thanks. I have one question: I’ve done some small customized items. A few times, very few, I’ve been stiffed and they didn’t get or pay for the product. Do you require payment up front?
Do you know what tools would be best to not only engrave but also cut the wood? I want to make mini frisbees/discs with engraving and trying to find out what I would need. I am completely new to this so any entry level advice would be appreciated. I sell on Amazon and am expecting 10 or so per day I need to make.
Very nice! I love doing cutting boards. Where did you source yours? I’m struggling to find them in bulk at a reasonable price.
nice! i am your 4000th like! great job man i liked your video a lot!
This is awesome thanks again for the inspiration. I’m still in the process of getting my shop ready. Haven’t made any money yet. Hoping to get started soon. I’m going to buy your miter station plans and hopefully get that done soon. Keep the videos coming bro they really help 👍
Thank you, Mark! That makes me really happy :)
Inspirerende å følge deg, Are. Bra jobba!
Glad for å høre det :)
great job. where can you purchas the sanding boards? thanks
Great video, Are! I just came across your videos today - subscribed! Can you tell us how many cutting boards you sold for this, and approx. how many hours you spent in total? Sorry if I missed that in the video.
Would love to know where you source your rough boards
How do you find a bulk supplier of cutting boards. I am in the US so I don't imagine I would be able to get them from your supplier but if you could give me some ideas it would be great. I don't have the equipment to make them myself and sure don't have the money to get it. Thanks for the video.
Where do you buy your cutting boards rough , before you do them up?
Can I ask you where you got the boards from? thanx
What are finishing the boards with?
Okey I'm curious, where the * where you able to buy so many rough cutting boards? ^^
Very nice 👍
Thank you!
Where do you purchase your non finished cutting boards?
Where to source them and what kind of wood are those you sell?
Hey I love your videos as I have friends in Norway (I'm based in the UK).
Just a question - where do you actually buy the cutting boards? Locally or from abroad?
As long as the boards available are cheap and come in the same standards in numbers, it looks like a good job.
Doing on private business makes a good profit, but If the business expands and employees are hired, it gets much harder I believe.
Also finding customers that order big numbers probably differ depending on the economy and that is where you are taking the risk.
So far, it looks like your winning the bet, so I hope you can make enough profit will your healthy and going good.
I'm just an employee of a company, being afraid of taking does risks.
Where do you buy unbranded cutting boards
Vikings Rule! 👍💯💪
Little bit of snow in Norway......lol.
Where do you buy the cutting boards
Where do you buy your cuttings boards from?
What kind of finish do you use on your boards.
Hi, an interesting video but a more detailed breakdown of costs would be better. Workshop costs, your time, shipping/delivery etc.
How did you decide how much to charge for each cutting board?
What finish are you using for these? Mineral oil?
About how many hours a day do you work on the actual making of the product. In other words, could this be a part-time business, until you get up and rolling?
Another way to batch oil your boards is to fill a plastic tub with the oil and just dip them in there. Then wipe them down.
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
Always appreciate it!
Sell them to restaurants as serving boards
-7C - average Norwegian summer day haha
What kind of wood is the cutting boards?
We also so this we sell wholesale and retail we also sell blanks of our products and we do large batch sales we have 2 large lasers and we covered roughly 150,000 last year
Not only that buddy you need space, storage, electric, water, heating, tools.
How much do you sell the cutting boards for in usd
Cheers have a great day
Where do you buy your items in bulk?
This is kind of cool - you keep it all very straight forward. I'm way too impulsive to just stick to one thing .. but i am glad you found an outlet & had some success. sukeez is great. (>'.')^ if i get to see Norway i'll come say hi
Are, nice work and nice profit. Where do you source you Acacia Cutting Boards? I know Amazon has a lot of these in bulk, but would like to know where you buy since you selling alot you must be comfortablewith your supplier. Thanks in advance.
Thanks! I buy them locally from a supplier here in Norway.
Hi @@AreBaloni, does this supplier ship to other countries in Europe?
Where do you buy them from;)
What size cutting boards
Who do you buy blank cutting boards? Link to suppliers please
What size cutting boards? Amazon Link?
Im from South Africa, the maximum we can sell cutting boards for is about $15- $20 and that's pushing it. No way we can make a living selling that here. Also too expensive to ship to the US which cost me $60 just to ship it to the US from South Africa 😢
What do you make that does sell in South Africa?
How much is a batch of rough cutting boards?
What is the wood species for the cutting board you buy in? How is the but price compared to sell price per unit?
Wood species is acacia. I buy them for $10 and sell them for $40/piece.
"Ameland" ist an insland from the netherlands. :)
your voice sounds like Jay Cactus
Where would someone buy cutting boards like that ? Would be cool to personalise and finish some for friends and family.
Amazon definitely have cutting board blanks, but I would also check out lowe’s, walmart, home depot etc.
Putting a Bible verse on them - that's cool! Great job!
Thank you!
Is it allowed to send such emails to other businesses?
How much is this machine?
I like your business model, I love your Gorilla Marketing Execution, but as a tradesman I have trouble putting my name on someone else's materials. Of course I have to do it, I.E. the Grohe or Moen Faucet, the Toto or Kohler Toilet, but these are well known brand names. People know them, they have warranties, and they back them. I am not so confident about an unknown manufacturer of cut rate cutting boards at discount rates.
step one own a house with a shed...... hold on can somone lend me 1.5 mil
Hours per board? 5900 after costs would be -25% USA for taxes so 4450 ish. Depends on how many hours it takes to do them, then the hourly cost comes in that’s what I want to know.
Do you mostly sell on Etsy?
No. I live in Norway, and most people in Norway dont buy things on etsy. I sell mostly on facebook, instagram and word of mouth.
where did you source the cutting boards? am also from norway, but clas ohlson and those places always brand their stuff.
I get them from Rusta
Why do you sand them before engraving?
Craftsmanship means you get to excellence ….. This wii buy you a nice car.
A CNC and a Sand Blaster would do almost all of the work for you while increasing your production speed, and it would reduce the cost of the blank cutting boards. Then your time would be free to optimize your marketing and discover new products to add to your business.
Where were those cutting boards made? What about the wood species?
I buy them locally here in Norway, but similar boards can be found on Amazon. The wood is acacia.
@@AreBaloni Was it on demand product that you wanted from them or product they made and you adjusted? I'm just curious about your process. I make end grain cutting boards from larch. But it's a lot of work. :) so just curious how other people do stuff
@@djVania08It’s a cutting board that they’re selling as it is. But they’re really rough. You could probably find something similar in cheap home decor/ furniture shops :)
@@AreBaloni I'm not really intending too but just wanted to know your flow. Thanks a lot. What about the large outdoor table with benches. Will you continue with that in the season?
@@djVania08Yes, for sure!
