Well I revamped my Rochester and Friesland ( as well as commanders) to max out AAA and I can’t get a match with a carrier in it to save my life 😳. I’m just gonna play those 2 this whole update just to mess with CB and anyone who gets this ship🥸
I have had a carrier game except 2.
I shot down 56 planes in Friesland and Parseval was still sending full squadrons at my teammates.
I was within 3km of a DE 7 too so he must have shot down a few planes.
The fact that the Kaga regenerates a plane every 16 seconds now is all I needed to know about this update lmao

You can still shoot a metric ton down for massive XP, although yeah they'll keep coming back. Seems impossible to deplane one. Clear skies in almost every 7 game today 😆

It looked like you spotted that fletcher DD when you threw a random air strike over the mountain. If so that could be a great way to have a quick radar that goes 12KM.
Not spotted but you can see their AA, so its smart to throw random strikes looking for AA tracers

I just finished it. It’s pretty fun. Teammates seem to hate it. I’ve enjoyed it. Haven’t figured out the same ship multiplier yet. I feel like peppering a target with your guns before using bombs should apply a multiplayer to the bombs and may be the trick to make them do something. Bombing little cap islands where red dd hides. Bombing a he spam in smoke. It’s fun.
Well technically if you get the backing and finish it you do get an extra commander for inspirations

Derka, may i ask where do you get your info on AA-DPS from because your data is largely different from the one I refer to in wowsbuild?
From the game, before equipping modules and captains, just add the DPS up off the AA screen. Id be curious what's different, I may need to update old values. Or, Mundy needs to update his values on wowsbuilds
Nice game! I decided to try out the new carriers with a game in Hermes and got three kills and 91,000 damage in a T3/4 match. It felt like I was using a T7 carrier because of the regen and airplane speed. I think the point of the crazy plane regen is so that you don't have to constantly switch back and forth in order to launch full squadrons like you used to have to do. Now, you can prioritize bombers or torpedo plane squadrons based on whatever you're targeting, being able to launch multiple full strikes of the same type in a row. That being said, I think the regeneration is too fast. You should eventually run out of one type of plane or the other, but as it stands, I don't think you could no matter how hard you tried. Overall, after only one battle, I think I like the carrier experience more now than I did before 🤷♂

Loving the new way the spotting works. No longer punished for pushing forward when only the carrier spots you.
DD versus DD fights no longer give advantage to the person who smokes up with a carrier spotting for them.
Haven’t played many other classes but from what I can see battleships are just cannon fodder to the cvs.
CVs have never been balanced in wows because they don’t fit in with any of the other spotting or damage dealing mechanics. It can take most of a game to create cross fires in normal ships. The cv has always been able to set it up in minutes time after time
BBs are like lambs to the slaughter yeah lol. Im with you though i enjoy the new spotting mechanic
My old record b4 this update was California 56 planes shot down against a server. I'm curious to see what new records I can get shooting planes down. Atleast I cam have fun with aa ships
im hearing people in the hundreds already, i think by the end of the update, with shooting down d7p bombing runs, the number could be fudged to 150-200

Not really, you can get the just of where they may land but you have to be aware of them on the map or on your screen
The armor in term is like a floating thin waffle, once you angle you taste better for bbs, when broadside, for high velocity shells bbs would simply over-pen this thing up 10km. Unless there's something different in WG department if i could be wrong. On pc this ship gets over-pen a lot as the downside of angling gets this ship killed.
Yeah staying flat broad at close range isn't a bad idea, like Ochakov or Atlanata. No armor best armor

For context, I've played a grand total of 2 CV games. I'm glad they are over tweeked at the moment. I really thought they'd nerved them too far. PLUS, adding CV rentals at LT, I thought they'd use the stat's to buff them. This next few weeks will be painful. Watch the meta change more than it has in 2 years. I do hope that it gets balanced a little better though. Getting 3 spotted in a full anti AA build Monty probably means that are a tad overcooked.....

BUT now I feel very pigeonholed into only playing ships with good AA.
This actually makes me want to play less as I have all these ships that now I feel I shouldn’t play as the AA is bad it is just frustrating.
They just need to tone down the plane regen and damage I think

how’s the AA compared to the Rochester
Rochester has 420 out to 5km base, 8k if you fully build into it. So 720dps it’s getting on for double. The Rossi deletes entire squadrons in seconds so this thing should be insta squadron delete
D7P stock DPS is 486
Rochester stock DPS is 370
D7P also has better range stock range by a full km. Both amazing but d7P is the king now

It's a first wave overhaul of a change, subsequent changes are gonna be happening over time
As a Japanese cv player I like this change, he bombs now can hit things as their bombers fly high and the restoration change will need a slight increase as it is decently quick.

I played AA focused Rochester and Friesland predominantly in response.
Id shoot down the squandron of planes as theyd make their bombing run. Watching 8 planes getting go down.
It didnt matter. The enemy carrier would get full drops off.
So basically, your never gonna stop a CV from dropping their full compliment of attacks.
The minimap spotting only was nice. Thats the only positive i saw....
Plane regen feels broken atm
Since this update, catapult fighters are completely useless. At least before they could spot, but they do not shoot down planes now. In a Zara and pushing with an Eastern Dragon, we both have fighters up with a CV attacking us. Neither of our fighters shot down a plane. What is the point of catapult fighters now?

@@DerkaGames but that proves the point of how the consequences of the changes they made were not considered. If fighters can't spot, then they have no use. Offer defensive AA as well or instead. How many Japanese and Italian ships now have a completely worthless consumable slot?
Id say this ship is worth getting just to do my kill 20 planes missions. Call me lazy but i hate doing that quest and ill take the easy button

I’m basically fine with all these changes. If I do play CVs, I play them in AI. I think theses changes are good. My only gripe and I hope they revert it immediately is the no spotting of ships with fighters and spotter aircraft. Sorry but you can’t just take away the only tool some ships have for a little situational awareness. I’ve had a couple instances already where I’ve felt handicapped cause they don’t spot ships anymore. I don’t think that’s right. One other thing, I do not like carriers not spotting ships for their team, mainly dds. That’s one of their jobs. Those 2 things I am not a fan of it. I can live with the latter but leaving it the way it is now with the aircraft spotting is screwing almost all battleships and some cruisers by taking away vision options

@@DerkaGames I’m kinda nonchalant about a lot of changes. They’re always gonna tinker around the edges on these games but this one really needs to be dropped. I was playing yesterday and wanted to check whether someone was coming around the island and I was gonna have to deal with people on both sides but then I realized the fighter doesn’t spot anymore and I’m in a warspite so I have no way to get any kind of situational awareness. I don’t even care about the torpedo spotting. It’s almost a soft nerf to every single battleship without sonar/radar

Playing low tier with CVs is basically fucking suffering
Just like world of -warship- warplanes pc
Have fun in your low tier cruiser and get absolutely smashed by the CVs while not being able to do anything about it, as if low tier cruiser isn't already known for being combustible, explosive and prone to being dev struck if something bigger than a fishing boat look at it then again it's not really a classic world of warship experience if an omaha didn't get obliterate within 2 minutes into the battle

hmm, has no one looked at Rochester's AA? That I know of it's the best in the game. Would have to double check it still beats Seven but it mops the floor with most everything else. I'm surprised Azuma isn't on the board either since She certainly has better AA than Atago from that list of AA-DPS tier 7 cruisers
Edit: Rochester's AA is like 450 dps though I've not gone full AA build so Seven does beat it now Rochester is still good and the AA reaches pretty far too
All T7 cruisers are on that chart, just shows names on every other one, due to there being too many. Rochester AA is in a firm 2nd place with 370 DPS. It's the little bar on the chart in between D7P and Celtic

Either double or triple AA for all ships and increase AA range, or revert the changes. What they could do is like radar or sonar, they could just put a delay for planes spotting enemy ships, like 10 seconds or so
Spotting and fuel changes are great, but DPM needs to be nerfed along with plane regen

WG is known for Creating problems, selling the solution. Look at recent times being example of Sicilia and Columbo, people wanted what Sicilia has on Columbo as they're both the same ship. soooo yeah...

Ahh thanks for clarification. Yeah....calculating these DPM increases on CVs overnight....it seems like anyone should have seen this coming that looked at the numbers.
@@David_Z220 but on PC it was exactly as I mentioned, all while on Legends it was already corrected in some form and fashion.
@DerkaGames it's going to get wild later in the year or so probably, PC was like that when CV's got buffed and what not. Also as I've mentioned in another comment and possibly in another vid of yours, all the AA cruisers (Minotaur for example) and AA destroyers (Smaland and Halland for example) will play a bigger pivotable role now. Also, as mentioned in the video about waiting 4 weeks? it's already happening in my experience when it's coming to De Zeven. People/Div's are using De Zeven with Kidd, Mino, Halland, and Smaland making a Iron Curtain/Dome and then got Div's of De Zeven's Dev Striking with the air strikes at nearly 1 minute into the game. it sucks for BB players on the US line (I'm one) and IJN (again am one). lol, later in the year and next year it's going to be something...

Legends is turning in to a flight simulator and its sad.
I played eight games after the update. Every game had a cv and they all came top of the game. I even played the Rochester with an aa build and I was focused and sunk. Good balance NOT 😡

However, legends did add cv spotting enemy ships only on the minimap and flight time limits for aircraft squadrons. These two changes have been the most requested by PC players to help balance cvs for 6 years! So maybe it will not be so bad. Love your content as always!
CV's are way too strong now, playing my Z52 a midway 100% killed me out right with bombs in 2 minutes... no body else shot me, nobody else could see me, i was full health, 2 minutes later dead, with now way of survival. ive not played lengends since. CV bombs need a massive nerf, its completely unfair

The aircraft’s are broken too far. Even in a division with all 3 boats having 600 DPS at 5km we are still getting focused and dropped on and killed!!!

WG still doesn't care about it's community, how many people on WoWs (PC) actually enjoy carriers. Their restoration time is ridiculous. you see the other WoWs content contributor pgrapidz put up almost 400k damage in the the Japanese Hakuryu? It's dumb, we are on track for WG to drop subs and we can be equally toxic on both games.
Shadow nerf to all BBs, shadow buff to all DDs. Wargaming just took a DDs hard counter and made it a BBs. BBs can’t dodge their bombs/torps or shoot down their planes anymore. Not to mention BBs already dealing with insane HE spam DPM, DD players with 4.8 km concealment yolo torping them while their gearing lays smoke for the carrier at the back of the map, and the stupid overpen mechanic on broadside cruisers. Brutal blow for the few BB players out there who played aggressively/absorbed damage and survived decently long, we were a dying breed that just went extinct because nobody with a brain is dealing with this. I guess the one positive is I needed to start playing more light cruisers anyways😂

@@DerkaGames some BBs will still be viable, Massa, Bama, Repub, Foudre, all insane AA and agile enough to deal with it, but ships like Zieten will go extinct
CV's are way over powered now it's just forcing BB's and other ships to sit at spawn's and snipe from the back from the map all ship's will have to be AA build now. The unlimited planes is just stupid. Took forever to do the Arkansas because it has no AA at all and can't have any added and the CV's know this and just farm it.

This recent update has ruined the game even more, it just proves BB are obsolete. AA defence needs on all BB, CVs are so op now. New ship sucks
bbs has been obsolete since man could launch planes from a surface ship but yeah. WG either has to tone down the cvs or up the AA on every bb in game for them to not be getting completely ruined 2 minutes into a gamr
If I were to play a BB, Id would stick with american AA BBs, and spec full AA. Free XP

Azuma DPS is 342! Pretty high but falls a little short now adays unless I'm missing something
@@DerkaGames it's way more survivable, ap shells are phenomenal on both cruisers and battleships, the range with first slot aa is beyond 7km and with first skill as aa it farms planes and ships very reliably. overall best cruiser for AA in my opinion at the tier. Plus hp pool to take hits unlike the new ship.
Sorry was at work for the first comment, I reinstate it's better as a all around ship for use with AA not necessarily better DPS. However singled out the azuma has more HP and armor and can slug it out longer providing more planes shot down.
One word…uninstall. Done with this game

CV dpm is perfect. Taking on full AA builds balances everything. BB players will have to get used to it an stop crying 😢

It only balances in ships that already have good AA if the ship has mediocre AA even speccing in full AA is not going to help you.
CVs used to be rubbish,, now the are competitive... I don't see the problem tbh.
I just rage quitted invoking every illness possible on every cv players.
