Her voice on its own feels like home.
It truly does
YES! 😊😍
I completely agree. As I was watching the clip of her guesting on Tim’s new show, her voice was so familiar I thought they were showing a clip of home improvement!
@@terri2718 : Tim Allen is still a favorite of ours, but I just couldn’t get into his newest sitcom. For some reason his new ‘wife’ is just irritating. I am happy though that Tim had another hit TV series.
Patricia Richardson was and is perfect to play Jill Taylor. Originaly is was Frances fisher. Clint Eastwood ex wife. She did not look the part. Thank god she turned downed role.
Patricia Richardson is heavily underrated as a comedic actress. Her timing and comebacks are perfect. ❤
No. Tim was the reason that show was successful, most of it was without the wife.
She's not bad, but nothing special.
@@robertsaca3512so wrong.
She looks so beautiful and amazing actress at 70 years old
She looks so gorgeous and beautiful actress and still looks amazing
She's exactly right, by not tying in real world issues, the show was timeless and it worked. Love that about the show. We watch TV to escape, not be reminded.
And yet thats all they want to do. REMIND people what they're trying to escape
True, but the point of Last Man Standing IS to tie into real-world issues that portray another side in a world where sitcoms and TV shows have sadly become more political and polarized.
it did, but at same time. times are different now. like it or not, believe it or not. politcos are after the kids. all ages, races. they want child slavery..... just look at the border. and search missing kids. from the border and in any town.... its not just kids coming across the borders... american children are dissapearing at rates we cant fathom.. and worst part is. media, etc try to normalize it and or say its ok its fine......... so last man standing brings attention to these things. the corruption etc. its not just dems. its both sides of the isle. america is failing hard and fast. the 1930s will seem like a cruise ship on holliday when this crash hits.... 2nd civil war in the midst of the largest economy crash. and when that is over all our enemies will invade......... if we dont wake up NOW america can easily cease to exist in a year.
There is no “we.” Everyone is entitled to watch TV for whatever they want. Same with books, movies, music … any & all art.
Really, she ruined the show with her demands for real life negative topics completely forgetting she was in a comedy sitcom. Typical female ruining everything they touch, the last two seasons were all about her demands and the shows ratings tanked. The show had enough legs to go on but her ego killed it.
The guy was doing the interview is very good. He does not interrupt her when she’s talking. It’s very refreshing
Yea his a good interviewer
I was thinking the same thing. He did really well with the interview, and the way he asked the question.
It really is; like a Junior Mint!
It’s extremely edited. He may have interrupted her endlessly and you’d never know.
@@pdubzpyro Ive seen him do interviews for years. I don't ever remember him interrupting in an interview. He's actually requested by several celebs for theirs.
She will be 70 this year. She looks fabulous!!!!
I never knew, until many years later, that she was 2 years older than Tim Allen, but even so, age doesn't matter- all that matters is how much humor and fond memories, they both still have, of working together on the set of "Home Improvement", and how much Earl Hindman ("Wilson Wilson") is still missed to this day.
@@chrisfinch8637 whattttttt??? TWO WHOLE YEARS?! How’d they pull THAT off??? Pffffft. I’m 4 years older than my husband. It’s a miracle that we make it work.
She does! She looks healthy, happy, and unstretched... lol!
@@yeshalloween 😂
Are you serious? There no way she will be 70..WOW
Who else watched Home Improvement for the relationship between Tim & Jill?? Their chemistry was amazing.
To count how many times Al says, "I don't think so, Tim.":)
Oh my God yes I grew up watching this!! I used to tell people this is this husband I want 😂
every x-mas! home improvement is my guilty pleasure for holidays alone:-)
Liked her better than him ..
They just felt so ‘real’, that it seemed more like a couple that we would have loved to have as friends.
I really appreciate the candidness of mentioning that she took the role for the money, for her family. Raising 3 kids is not cheap and that was a very down to earth answer. Fitting for the role she played!
What's great is when they played her interviews done while the show was going she was candid in saying what she was actually going through; doing it for he money, expecting it not to get picked up, getting released from her contract, etc. She was shooting straight and didn't sugar coat anything from the beginning. That's really refreshing. I think she's stayed fantastically attractive too.
She took the money for her family and turned down $25 million for her family, 'nuff said!
There was such an on-air chemistry between Patricia and Tim, the delivery of their lines, facial expressions, everything, it was so natural, it was perfect!
I love that home improvement didn’t deal with world events- TIMELESS
That's the same reason I loved Married with Children. None of that sappy crybaby crap!
they made good jab jokes at politics on some shows. it was funny as hell
Same goes for Cheers, still very very funny today.
I think you need to watch the show again.
@@relicman Married With Children was all about sticking it to the conservative groups that were trying to get it cancelled.
I love how kind Kevin Frazier is interviewing her and he lets her actually go on and talk about everything in full.
Such a good interviewer. He knows how to say just enough to push the interview without talking over her. Very classy.
Kevin frazier is a good interviewer
It is so nice to watch an interview where the guest actually gets to talk without a bunch of interruptions and/or gooey gushing compliments, or constant laughing to everything said.
Let her talk? Poor Kevin couldn't get a word in edgewise! Ha Ha just kidding!
I completely agree. He is a terrific interviewer. He lets people say what they need to say rather than cutting them off with uninteresting blather. So many interviewers let their ego dictate their style, but Kevin Frazier does not. He's great!
Wow, she looks absolutely fantastic at 70. Good for her.
As a kid growing up in the 90s, I lived vicariously through Home Improvement. Although I'm the youngest of 3 boys, I related more to Randy. But the reason I lived through this show growing up was because they represented the family I never had. Mom and dad divorced when I was 8, dad moved to another state and my brothers were in and out of JDC, jail and halfway houses. And I was put in with my aunt. So when Home Improvement came on, I would envision myself in that show and that way, I had the family dynamic that was denied me in real life.
Watching this interview is bringing back GREAT memories and bringing on the tears. I now own the entire series and watch an episode or 2 every night.
Home Improvement MADE my childhood!
Me too man . This show was ahead of its time . Still a great show to this day .
That sounds kind of like Arthur Fleck.... But what better home could you live in than Tim Taylors?
Sending love ❤
What happened with your brothers?
How did you all turn out? I hope you’re all doing great now💕
I think in retrospect, I watched Home Improvement for Jill Taylor. Jill was the down-to-earth, ambitious, grounded, professional mother that defined the 90s of my childhood I was used to. To this day, I am amazed at how grounded Patricia Richardson is.
I watched it for Debbie Dunning ;)
I loved how she had to deal with Tim's obsession with tools, home improvement projects, and his crazy, but funny antics on the holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. She would at times be mad, frustrated, & angry with him, but she never stopped loving him.
Patricia Richardson is what was missing from Tim's second show. In that one, his humor constantly came off as cruel, not nearly as funny as his Tim Taylor character with Jill to reign him in.
I grew up on Home improvement ,family matters and step by step
Oh so full house gets no love huh?
@@jonmacdonald5345 and Boy Meets World! ABC's TGIF was the bomb!!
@@collegebro85 the only good thing about that show was Topanga!
@@jonmacdonald5345 Wow, how wrong can you be!? That show had EVERY character dynamic and growth from Cory to Shawn to Topanga and Eric, plus you can't beat Mr. Feeny and the Mr. Turner arc!! It is one of the most beloved 90's sitcoms, but it's too bad you can't enjoy it to the fullest...
@@collegebro85 Not even Ben savage sucks his Acting is rather mild and padantif in comparison to his big brother Freds! Freds show was a wayyyyy better 90s show than boy meets world!
The man doing this interview is just as genuine and down to earth as she is.
She's so right about keeping current events out of a show to keep it relevant longer. Plus, people want a place to escape from the craziness going on in the world and throwing in politics or things that are making people anxious just spoils the escape factor. My mom and i both work in the medical and when all the medical dramas started coming back, we had to skip the COVID episodes because we just couldn't take anymore of it. It has been horrible at work, we don't want to watch our work day on TV when we're trying to relax.
Thank you. Wholesomeness on TV is a lost virtue due to cramming shows full of political themes and/or disturbing content.
Unlike last man standing.....
She is BEAUTIFUL! She's aged beautifully. Reliving my childhood through this interview
You are beautiful too
. She’s so down to earth and cute I just love her .
I agree, plus she has been thru so much. Not only during the time she did this series, but also right after. Hearing about her straggles with death, children and a marriage that fell apart...........wow, I admire her even more!!! I hope that she has many more years yet, to enjoy her grandchildren, family and being comfortable with herself and her life.
I love that she’s let herself age naturally. I’d love to see a Home Improvement reunion.
She's had work done. She's talked about it.
she is 72 and looks amazing
She's had work done, but she did it the right way if you're going to at all. Keep it minimal and as natural as possible. She looks great for 70.
She looks a thousand times better than Courtney Cox. Both were my 90s crushes. But now only one
She has remained stunningly beautiful, inside and out. How refreshing.
So glad she talks about her mistakes, depression, she's truly is the awesome person i was hoping she was.
I love that she has natural color hair. It looks great.
Parker Rose: Her hair color isn't natural; it's obviously colored. However, it's very flattering. FYI, no one's hair turns that color naturally. I'm considering getting my salt-and-pepper done in that color. Very nice.
I love the part where they talk about how strong Jill was and how Tim would have come across as abusive if not for that. That's the difference: They fight but they do not abuse each other.
Just people with a strong sense of humor. People are so sensitive.
She's so conversational, so easy and interesting to listen to.
Literally..if she dyed her hair brown...she would look *EXACTLY* the same 😳
she sure does, and I LOVE that she clearly has not had any "work" done.
yup
When did she go white, she was in last man standing and still had brown hair.
@Anne Shirley Dang, well maybe I need her surgeon's name!
Yeah she really needs to break the dye out.
I used to see interviews of casts from tv shows such as happy days and cheers in the early 2000s. Now They are interviewing shows I remember airing during my childhood. I think I’m officially old. 😭😭😭
We all are officially old!
We sure are! 🙃
Girl...I saw interviews with the human cast from Sesame street...Same.
This is my absolute favorite sitcom of all time. Yes, I know that friends, and Seinfeld and other things were big in the 90s. But, I never cared for them as much as I did home improvement. Like somebody else said it is timeless and I still laugh my ass off at all the jokes.
I like how the interviewer allowed her to be real and answer honestly. That was awesome.
I still watch every afternoon, after work…..I wish I could have a dream where I was in the house living out an episode with them.
i watched the show for the dynamic between her and tim
perfect balance of opposites
and hilarious too!
She’s still beautiful as ever
This is perhaps the most honest interview I've ever heard.
At 9:21 "You look real. We don't care."
That is what was so appealing about Jill.
My favorite episode of last Man Standing was seeing Patricia and Tim, and Johnathan reunited ❤
The character Jill could hold her own and go toe to toe with the Tim character. I LOVED her character. I looked forward to seeing Jill just as much as Tim and just as much as Al. That's a great ensemble cast there.
(Also, I loved seeing Patricia on The West Wing. She rocked! I always wanted them to make her a regular.)
Strong Medicine too!
Can’t forget Wilson
She looks crazy good! The silver hair and the fact that she is just aging gracefully is outstanding.
Still love and still watch "Home Improvement" 20 years later. You still look great Patricia Richardson. ♥️
The best thing about Home Improvement was the relationship with Tim and Jill
Yes very realistic
Nah.. it was Tim and his tools
I thought it was Wilson giving everyone advice.
They wanted to kill Jill and Tim said NOPE we aint doing that and decided to end the show rather than killing off her. That is LOYALTY! I miss them working together!
Why would they want to do that ?
@@robertrogers074 Cause Patricia wanted to leave the show and they wanted to continue it.
They were reunited on last man standing for several episodes
Last man standing if you think about it was a home improvement reunion without Earl Hindman. Last man standing even had JTT as her son.
I heard she was a total beyotch and was bossy with the writers in the last years.. She caused Tim to stop the drama, I mean, the show.
Patricia and Rosanne! My childhood would have been different without them. Love and respect you so much. You taught a lot of us it’s ok to be, well, normal. I’m glad you worked through your grief and life’s obstacles. Then let us see you again. Thank you. Best wishes. You look amazing.
God, it's good to see her--I went to college with Pat. She's exactly the same--then, now, always...the most fabulous spontaneity onstage, in life. She still talks a blue streak, which I adore! I hope she acts again, she's so-o talented.
You absolutely did not go to school with her. Why do people lie about this stuff?
Why are people complaining about her hair? She looks great!
I know. Unfortunately people age 😔
@@Citrusfruits50 we gotta put a stop to that nonsense.
Her brows are still brown so I'm thinking that she just went ALL IN and said "Let's go silver fox!" Because it costs a lot of money to keep the grays away year round. I love the Doris Day platinum/silver on anyone. Styling could go a bit better for her because I LOVE her.
Just a little shock is all, LoL but I guess it shouldn't be, we're all getting older LoL 🤣
I actually clicked through from the thumbnail because I wanted to say how beautiful she looks with her gray hair. It suits her complexion so well.
This lady does not age one bit, beautiful.
She is beautiful but she has aged gracefully.
@@Shelleyfg87 Yes that’s what I was going for
Was thinking the same thing! She’s just Jill with Beautiful WHITE hair!
Wow, she looks incredible! The show is 100% timeless... absolutely loved growing up watching it and it still plays so well in todays day and age
Except for now, the electronics play 1st fiddle in so many homes.
Patricia is an amazing woman and did an awesome job representing Jill Taylor, the great American mother and “house wife”. That show truly is timeless and will never be matched.
Wow, Ms Richardson looks amazing! Almost as if they just made her put a wig. She hasn’t changed a bit! I love her so much. This was one of my favorite shows growing up.
I absolutely LOVED Home Improvement and when she and JTT came onto Last Man Standing I was a giddy pre-teen again!!!
I still fall asleep to this every night (bought the boxset,) it was one of the only shows my family watched together before they divorced. It's beyond nostalgia.
Hollywood needs more people like her! She’s got both feet grounded and Hollywood needs that.
She looks AMAZING! She is so well spoken and seems like such a sweet lady! Thanks ET, I didn't even know I needed this.
What a great storyteller. What a joy to see her after all these years :)
I completely agree
Damn, she is still a fine looking woman.
When I think of the 90s. This is what comes to mind
She still looks the same, still beautiful Jill. Home Improvement was one of my favourite sitcoms during the 90’s. The writing was good and realistic in terms of representing everyday American families.
I love her honesty about being a Mom and working. I can relate to menopause and depression. So relatable. I loved home improvement
Agree
Jill is my tv mom, reminds me of my own mother and how she managed to raise 3 of us boys just like Jill. The character of jill is so real and timeless. Patricia is so awesome love her ❤️
Kevin says at the end, "The most important job you will ever have". This is the truest statement ever made - I wish all people would understand it and actually believe it.
Watch this again all the way through - it is worth it.
She looks really great. Aging beautifully.
My gawd, i needed this interview. There arent enough superlatives to describe Patricia Richardson......Kind, Hillarious, warm, and geniune. I love her.
Jill, "Patricia Richardson," you were and are still are my favorite character on Home Improvement..... You and Tim worked so well together you made "family" look so good. Hope to see more of you on Last Man Standing. You are one strong woman, and I mean that in a good way. Thanks for your time and work on the show. And thanks to ET for posting this.
I wish they would do a reboot of this with Tim and Jill again. I loved this show. As a kid growing up in the 90s I just adored this show and their relationship.
I loved Home Improvement growing up in the 90s. Watched it with my family and we had so many great laughs. But, I don't want a reboot. I know that wouldn't be what I really want to see. Because you can't re-create Home Improvement today, it was at the right place and right time in the 90s when there wasn't streaming Internet shows, people still sat around and watched TV shows when they came on. The kids on the show, were kids! Actually, the show went 8 seasons so the kids grew up on the show, too. They became young adults. The show ended and it holds a special place in the hearts of those who enjoyed it. We can go back and watch it now, if we want. Just like nobody wants a live action re-do of any classic movie from the 90s. If it was done right in the 90s, it can't be re-done any better in the 2020s. That's just my opinion, but I think a lot of people share that.
@@coolioso808 I wouldn't want to see this rebooted because it is soooo timeless. However, I would love to see a prequel like Young Sheldon with Tim and Jill meeting and starting their family. I do think that would work and it would be entertaining to watch.
@@marcettalinton7803 Ok, I imagine that could be interest, but keep in mind the first season of Home Improvement had Mark as very young, like 5 years old and the other older boys not much older. It pretty much was the beginning of Tim and Jill's family without sitting through the diaper changing and potty training parts, lol.
Wow she is 70? How time flies since HI's end in 1999 - an astounding 21 years ago - and yet the show is timeless because it's simply about family and the typical struggles they faced with growing boys! Wonderful interview. Great actress and a real and lovely person!
I recently rewatched this show. I couldn’t believe how much I laughed!
The casting on this show was perfect. I bet that made it easier for the writers who also knocked it out of the park. It was a great choice casting Patricia in this part. She was born for it.
Wow, she still looks gorgeous. It was sad when Home Improvement stopped, because it was such a fun show to watch and timeless (More Power). Thanx for the laughter and the good times.
I love Patricia! So happy to see her cameo on Last Man Standing. Wish she was on more.
SHE IS BY FAR THE BEST TV ACTRESS, EVER!
Respect opinion, but I think Mrs Huxtable.
Nope. Edie Falco.
Tim is the rare actor to have two hit sitcoms in his career it’s crazy
Him and Ed O'neill are the only ones I can think of to have two successful sitcoms.
Bob Newhart
Did Scott Baio technically have 3? lol
Carrol O'connor All in the Family...In the Heat of the Night...
Danny DeVito.......Bob Denver.......Ron Howard......Jason Bateman

@Danielle D. Minerva she doesnt look 100. Remember, she turns 70 next month!
And her voice is the same
Its called facelifts and hair dye.
Her hair is beautiful. She is beautiful and natural.
It’s possible it’s for a role, either way she looks great
She is such a lovely woman. Thanks for such a great show
She said it, they made the show so that it would seem like something eternal and that it is! I still watch these reruns with my kids today and they love it! So relatable and funny! I truly believe almost every single human being can imagine themselves wanting to be a part of a family like the Taylors!❤️❤️❤️
Her character was very real. The average woman is not tiny. Patricia was healthy and that is why the show is successful.
@Pink Panther uh, the show ended. That's why!! Lol
She used to be a smoker!
She explained why the show was successful - the script writers kept away from politics, ensured the characters dealt with actual family issues, and the two main protagonists actually played equals - it wasn't the male browbeating his helpless wife and it wasn't a nagging female slowly killing her spineless husband
Men and young boys watched Home Improvement and actually aspired to become like Tim
Women and young girls watched Home Improvement and actually aspired to become like Patricia

I remember when I was 19. my parents took me to Universal studios and we got to watch a rehearsal of Home Improvement. Patricia Richardson and the actors who played Al and Heidi were so friendly. It was Al's birthday that day so we all sang happy birthday to him. They really inspired me to pursue my dreams.
Thank you so much, Patricia Richardson, for sharing your story. The hardest thing for a mom to juggle is a career and a family. I know that, too. Today, grace is needed from our kids and from ourself. Every day it can get better and better with grace. God bless you!
This is such a great interview !! Patricia Richardson did a fantastic job on Home Improvement, iconic character ... perfect counter part to Tim! Yes, so true ... a woman /wife who isn't perfect I hear ya Patricia !
Something about Patricias...Both Pat Heaton and her have really amazing talent and set the bar for how to play a mother and wife in a sitcom! It's fantastic to have 1 hit show, but Heaton has 2 playing this type of character, which is phenomenal!
I still watch Home Improvement till this day.
I grew up on Rosanne and home improvement and boy meets world 80’s and 90’s! Good times. These shows help raise us! lol
The pilot of HI is still one of the funniest ever. When Tim gets shocked by the dishwasher and tries to walk it off and his small son does the same.
She is still just as cute as she was then and such a nice personality, its good to hear her talk about how she was on home improvement!!!!
To me, she was the definition of COOL MOM on tv at that time. I wanted to be her son. And years later when I re-watched it as an adult, she became the definition of COOL WIFE, and I fantasized about having a wife as cool as her...!
I'm currently binge watching Home improvement with my teenage daughter as I was a big fan back when I was a teenager in the 90s. I remember having a huge crush on JTT
What a wonderful interview! I adored every moment. They were such a REAL couple but they LOVED each other! It was so endearing and sweet cause they just kept trying and hanging in there. It was so incredibly hilarious, literally LOL every week! She was so strong and the days of grocery store tabloids were simpler. Much simpler. She was born for that role.
Her skin is so flawless, it's only the color of her hair that has changed..
And it's stunning on her! I can only hope to have hair like that at her age.
She was practically my mom growing up. I really love seeing her again.
This was and is my all-time favorite show. There are very few shows that just resonate across time simply because they hit you on the most human level.
I love her even more now. This is year that so much craziness to that degree she spoke about at the end of interview is going for many of us so for her to share why she quit, so many completely understand & have empathy. So wishing her the best!

Yep me too because I don’t have cable so Home Improvement has become an evening ritual 😂
Damn this makes me want to go back and watch this whole series again.
I seen the last man standing home improvement episode and then went back to watch the original series. I’m just finishing up season 1
You should!
I plan to rewatch the whole series once I get it physical. Love the show. It's so down to earth and felt so real. Really miss it.
I have to say right away that this show is one of my all time favorites even when I was a kid. My parents would watch it all the time and plus when you get older you start to see the messages of the show and the background of it more. I really love Patricia and Tim Allen. I think they have what is seen as a typical healthy marriage. I remember watching a behind the scenes and Tim Allen said so himself that him and Patricia had what is seen as a real marriage and it seemed so real for him because of their dynamics and their chemistry. It was awesome for me to watch the show again at my age now and see that even though they both make mistakes they're able to come back together and prove their love to each other. I love the passion between both of them. I think the show is a reminder that marriages are not perfect, but if you truly love the person you will work everything out. I always go back to the show when I think about working with families and the children that I do because I think as we get older we forget what it's like to be a child and having to learn everything from somebody older and superior to us. I think this show is a great example of showing us though as parents you have a very important job and even though it doesn't come with a rule book what you do will rub off on your children and it really makes me wonder how much the 3 boys that they hired for the show learned from them as their TV parents. I almost wanted to say I wish there was a reboot of this show with everybody as an older version like they did with Fuller House.. But I think the show ended in the perfect way.
It is lovely to see the excitement in her voice when she talks about her children.
I grew up on Home Improvement (born 1985) and now my girls are growing up on it too (currently 10 & 7). We all laugh and love the show. They did a great job separating it from the real world. Also, we are Michiganders so that is a bonus! Thanks for this interview Patricia ❤️
Loved the show immensely!! Thank you dear Patricia!!! Thank you to your colleagues too!!!Awesome!!!
Thank you so much for interviewing her! I've missed her as if she was my own mom. I see a lot of my parents in Tim and Jill, and I was Mark's age at the time, but an only child. They lived in a grander house in MI than we did, but it still felt like my family. I understand the struggle of trying to balance work and family, it's something I watched my mom struggle with in the 90s, too. I have so much respect for Patricia and wish I could see her in another sitcom with Tim. They were magic together.
She looks INCREDIBLE!!! Beautiful soul!!! Thank you for sharing this!!! 🙏😇
