Dude..i never expected to see Jack's emotional side on stage, this really got to me. He deserves all the praise. Still one of the best.
@@timetheory84 I don't know if you know who Studs Terkel is but he hated "Five Easy Pieces," re, the scene where JN gives the waitress a hard time.
Studs: What kind of day is she having? What's the nature of her work? She's getting hassled by the boss, the busboys, the cook, the customers. And at the end of the day, she TIRED. ... And JN wants his food just right.
I agree. For me, that scene epitomizes what I don't like about JN, regardless of the movie he's in. He's not at all empathetic as an actor. Not as far as I can tell.
It was beautiful 👌🏼
@@tonyfigs8148 its called ACTING..... OMG
All the broads loved Jack
You hit it! Even I teared up when he did. Jack takes you where HE goes!
"A killer smile and a pair of shades". Love it. Congrats Jack Nicholson!
😎😎😎😎💜💜
"You ain't seen nothin' yet."
God bless Jack, legends never die.
HOW cool is it when Jack says "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" along with his immediate reaction. Just quintessential Jack. Charisma like no one. One of a kind!
😂😂😂
it is very cool, and you realize for sure that he also has a lot of insecurities but he powers through them. Even Jack has insecurities
I recognize this line...this is one from his Joker lines, indeed ! >:D
Meryl's reaction: 7:55
What makes it even cooler is that it was absolute truth. He had so many great performances after 1994. As Good as It Gets, About Schmidt, The Departed etc etc etc
What a dude. Ageless charisma, this man is one of a kind. I'm absolutely blown away by this - one of his best performances!
Probably the most honest award speech ever. Now I know why those around him love him so much.
From an illegitimate child growing up in New Jersey, to one of the greatest, most fearless, charming, charismatic and most celebrated actors of all time. Only in America. But even in America, Jack is truly one of a kind. ❤️
Please stop using the phrase “ illegitimate “. No life should be described as such🙏
@@italishgirl5601 they used to be called bastard births ... which is the original meaning ...
He legitimate from born. Are you legitimate or not?😂
Only ….in….America…? America is much greater than USA
Yes is interesting that most of USA héroes are fake… i will name some
Batman Spider-Man Superman Rambo and all the movie fake heroes represented by actors I must say I really don’t understand what your so proud of and in general USA people are so proud about it?
A country that has being since it was created involved in creating and instigating wars all over the world and still the leader on it.
A country that pretend to be the winner of all wars they enter?…
The II WORLD WAR was won by Russia not you
And all wars in the Middle East and Hispanoamérica to plunder like pirates…and after destroy the Middle East and South America you just run away like thief’s that is your heroes WAR CRIMINALS only in USA ….
Vietnam the biggest failure of all.
In many countries, except for Hollywood’s reach at the time. These days they make exclusively garbage.
The most diplomatic, inclusive, elegant, considerate, witty, funny and brilliant actor to have given us so many years of shattering performances.
In short: My Hero.
jack is so considerate and classy and timeless !!
inclusive? what?
@@Bale4Bond "Inclusive" is so tethered to identity politics these days, one often forgets its range of application.
He forgot the award, but nothing is awkard for Jack Nicholson ! That charisma !
Looks like that thing cost them about $14.95....retail.
So? The honor is priceless
It is good that he forgot it because the way he picked it up was priceless.
He´s got so many already.
Lorraine being there and his family was the PRESENT the award was the past.. beautiful simply beautiful Jack
He's a true star isn't he? All those actors in the same business were full of awe about him! What an actor!
Jack Nicholson is probably one of the most humblest actors as far as I have seen. He gives credit where it's due as far as his collaborators are concerned and his acceptance speech was very moving and eloquent. What a class act he truly is! Thanks for all of the cinematic memories, Jack. ✌️😎
Only Jack can make, forgetting his award on stage look cool
Typically A Hobo That Lives In Ya Bathtub your profile picture is just yes.
Jack & Nick are names for Satan which is why most huge Hollywood stars have played characters named Jack & Nick. Nicholson even played the Devil in Witches of Eastwick. The Golf record of 6+6+6=18 Golf Majors is held by Jack Nicklaus. When Jack said "You ain't seen nothing yet" perhaps he was referring to the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse - Famine, Disease, WW3 & FEMA Death camps with guillotines ? Jack also portrayed a Werewolf in in WOLF. I know for a fact that Rothschild funded archaeologists unearthed Nephilim Giant bones & have cross hybridized them with Wolves & other animals to create Beastly Monsters. They won't "Unleash the Beasts" until the government repeals the 2nd Amendment. They've cross hybridized species to create Dragons, Leviathan, Megalodon, dinosaur looking RAPTORS, Cat People, Scorpion hybrids that look just like the Beast in ALIEN, King Kong, Godzilla, Bigfoot is a Giant crossed with a Bear, the Abominable Snowman is a Giant crossed with a Polar bear.....Any Monsters we've seen in movies have probably been created by cross hybridizing species...imagine a Giant Anaconda crossed with a Black Mamba or a Cobra ? Book of Revelation began with WW1 orchestrated by the Rothschilds who are inbred with the Rockefellers, Windsors, Bushs, Kennedys, DuPonts, Morgans, Warburgs & other lesser known families.....it's all in the freaking family, a family of generational Satanist Vampires !
@@LordGandor3 are you nuts !
Matt Reohorn Clearly, yes.
@@LordGandor3 Sit down and STFU
This is one of the best acceptance speeches I've ever heard, anywhere, anytime, and by anyone. He actually said very little, but his words were so sincere, that they spoke VOLUMES. And that's exactly what good acting is all about, isn't it?
Master class in falling apart and keeping it together.
That look of respect on the face of Clint Eastwood who himself is the greatest legend hollywood has ever produced shows how admirable Jack Nicholson is !
When he mentioned his daughter, he got such a big smile of pride on his face.
Handsome cowboy.
If anyone ever thought he was an empty vessel, this proves he loved the work and was a true emotional artist who lived and breathed his roles.
He still is
Agreed, but who exactly ever thought he was an emplty vessel?
@@charlesfischer3654 He caught a lot of shit when he did Batman- people calling him a sell out only motivated by the payday- but even on that movie he really gave it his all.
Watching this occured how intelligent this person is and smooth and witty, hats off mr. nicholson
I love that he mentions his sister first and seems so appreciative!
Was that his sister or his Mom?
@@JohnC-er3rg Both
@@markwestwriter No, Lorraine is actually his aunt, but he didn't learn that until later in life.
this is actually quite an amazing speech.
Then he made As Good As It Gets and won the Oscar, the Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the American Comedy Award, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, the National Board Of Review Award, the London Critics Circle Film Award, etc. Then he made About Schmidt.
That was the most honest and humble acting i've ever seen, actually it wasn't acting. It was Jack.
"You ain't seen nothin' yet" is true. Years later he gave us Warren Schmidt from "About Schmidt", which is easily one of his best performances.
I think most of us didn't get much of the speech, but people in the audience did.
That's jack for us, a mystery .. a giant one.
Jack = pure class.
What a legend. My favourite actor. Such passion in his work. God bless J. Nicholson
forgetting the award really confine how true this guy is.
Good old jack #1
Confirmed*
Or how drunk our Jack really is.
@@andy6970 he said he wasn't. Did you watch it?
"You ain't seen nothin' yet." Great line Jack 😀😀😀
I like him too LoL 😉
Wow... So true. He would go on to win another best actor oscar 3 years later and star in dozens of more films
That what she said
yep, won best actor for As Good as it Gets
Simply one of the best so unforgettable.
Wow.... the BEST acceptance speech I've heard. I was not expecting that. What a legend.
Jack Nicholson is the man and I don't say that about most people. His legendary performances will withstand the test of time guaranteed.
It's a beautiful award acceptance speech. Jack truly deserve it. 🌟
Heh, Goldie Hawn was so teary eyed, but I must admit this made me pretty teary too... Jack really deserved this
Jack Nicholson, Al pacino, Robert de niro, Tom hanks and Morgen Freeman are in the league of extraordinary best actors ever.
Agreed + Marlon Brando + Daniel day Lewis
"I guess the only real danger here is after this I'll fall in love with myself" hahaha what a brilliant way to turn over his own emotions! Love Jack Nicholson!
hes just the man in every way
There is a reason this man has the most Academy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award for acting in every decade from the 1960s to 2000s . Hes the man he can play any damn role and makes it seem so real its unbelievable.
Jack is in his eighties now. The day he will die, I will cry. I will really cry. There has never been an actor like Jack. He is the GOAT !!!!
Just when I thought it wasn't possible to love this man anymore, he always manages to top himself. Jack, you da man! :-)
It's amazing to think that even after this he turned in performances like in The Departed and The Pledge. My God what a talent. And easily the coolest guy of all time.
One of the coolest men to ever live! A living legend, ultimate hellraiser, a actor for all actors
Absolutely. He was so great as the actual Devil in "The Witches of Eastwick"-- aka Daryl Van Horne. R.P. McMurphy, Jack Torrance, Garret Breedlove, Charely Partanna, The Joker, Melvin Udall, Dr. Buddy Rydell, Frank Costello-- always an enchanting agent of chaos!
Just rewatching him in The Shining or looking at his scary, grinning face pics at that door makes me think he is one if the finest and talented.. He made hollywood so renarkable even today in the 21st century❣️🎉🎶hugs from philippines
Now I get why he's so loved. Because he's himself. And I thought he doesn't feel emotion until now. Old school class of an actor and an all around swell guy.
Hard to accept that even Jack Nicholson can cry. But it's a humbling and self-teaching experience for me to watch this video.
I love Jack Nicholson, what a great actor. Normal, sweet, joky and so real. The best actor with his own good acting, with a smile and a lovely likeable face. I always enjoy watching past and present videos.
A great fan for many years, Jack.
All the best to you Sir. With love from South Africa
Even when he's emotional he's 1,000 times more of a badass than any of us!!
A legend in his own time.
You mean forever.
3:25 "The mother of some of my children..." I howled, lmao
"Here's Johnny", was one of Jack's best ad lib lines!
Thanks for your love and support. I really do appreciate 💙💙💙
He truly has a magnetism thats on a different level.
jack nicholson is a great actor , thank you a lot
I imagine Jack as this edgy, hard, larger-than-life person and I watch him in this video and I see someone humbled and overwhelmed and melancholy and struggling to hold it in like some dad at his daughter's wedding. It's adorable... and it makes me wonder about what that character would look like if he were to let it free on set. Amazing guy....
Such a Great Speech All The Way Jack Nicholson Is The Man!
Jack is such a sweet down to earth guy, love him!! 😍😘❤
that melody is perfect for '90s and jack nicholson. Genius, Jak Nicholson is a GENIUS!

Did you watch this clip?
The entire audience was made up of people who have loved him, are loving him, and will continue to love him far into the future.
Mind you, Clint Eastwood looked like he had walked into the wrong room!
+Vegeta Lover The thing Jack Nicholson is perhaps best known for, is that he has been with over Three Thousand women. That makes him one of the most successful womanizers on the planet, not least due to his money and fame. But sure, also due to his life ethos and ability to charm. So the only woman in the world who thinks hes attractive? Who the hell do you think you are, get to the back of a very, very long queue!!!

What a wonderful speech from one of the greatest actors ever. :)
what a great speech, I m literally crying..
Amazing how he got the lifetime achievement award before 2 of his greatest performances, in As Good As It Gets and The Departed
He was even better in About Schmidt. One of his best performances.
Great video Jack is very deserving of this award.I hope He makes a comeback and don't retire yet.
The 3 actors that come to mind that I really love Bogart, Hackman, and Jack
You can feel that he is sad inside, my favorite actor of all times and a great soul
Five Easy Pieces is my favorite movie of his, and I've seen almost every major starring role of his many times. He and Anthony Hopkins are my two favorite major motion picture actors of the past 40 years.
Jack nicholson the greatest actor of all time! Hands down!!
And 2 of his greatest performances came after this too truly one of the greatest if not the greatest actor of all time
about schmidt and.......?
Him , Gary Oldman and Daniel Day Lewis are the best

Will we ever have the likes of Jack Nicholson and his league ever again. Wow …. Thank you for sharing your craft with the millions the world over.
Total respect for Jack! Even with all of the fame and fortune, and Hollywood BS that they all have to deal with, he never forgot how important it is to be a good human being!
When they came up with the saying, “ he’s cooler than the other side of the pillow,” they were talking about “JACk.”... or for that matter, “slicker than snot on a door knob!!
0:46 that eyebrow lift tho.......
Isn't it iconic??
While I watching it, I wish this speech will never end..
So true
Such a wonderful man and actor. Everybody loves him!!
There are a lot of GIANT actors in Hollywood.
Pacino, Hoffman, De Niro and Nicholson and many more.
But Nicholson is probably my favorite. Never makes a DULL movie! His personal life, well....🤣🤣
Hands off to Jack Nicholson
you've meant 'hats off to jack nicholson'
Truly one of the greatest actors of our time, I really miss his presence on the big screen
Hey Frank if that's really you.. just gotta say you're sadly underrated as an actor.
Yes it’s really me,
@@simba30 first saw you on the show "World's Dumbest"...realized you were the unlucky gambler from "Tombstone" since it was my Pop's favorite film. Both you and your brother are badasses in your own rights. Thanks for responding!
His AFI Lifetime Achievement Award has a star, looks so brilliant!👍🏼❣️
I've always sensed Jack's kindness and understanding; I hear it in his every utterance. Much better than doing your job well is to be a good souled mortal, one of the many lovable mortals who I say "hold up the world". To me, Jack is "the real deal". ❤🎉
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF
CLINT EASTWOOD
No one deserves it

Marlon Brando
Jack Nicholson you Sir are truly amazing!!! Always Suave. True Hollywood.
Ya, well deserved. He gave a lot of great performances.
What a great actor in his own great character. His speeches is loved by everyone. So real and so simple, like his acting. Great special acting.

Wow made me teary eyed. Love Jack! ❤
Thanks for your love and support. I really do appreciate 💙💙
"I guess the only danger here is that after this i'll fall in love with myself". That's how tears swings to laughter. Good Old Jack Nicholson. EFF you all the haters and extra-smart kiddos. Grow up first.
I think that people like this guy who most of the time provoques fear and people have that idea of him this is a guy to be nervous with or be afraid of him, ocasionally or a lot of the time makes jokes and seems to enjoy himself makes people adore him and makes him so much atractive in so many ways i thinks thats his great personality and the key of his succes
The best acceptance speech ever. I never forgot it. I watched it live and am glad I can find it here.
Gorgeous! That's all ❤️
Jack has always been such a likable, but seemingly troubled and very complicated man. With his charm, charisma, and ability to get any woman he wants, I always felt he has never felt truly loved or had much stability in his life. Being raised in a household full of women with no father or father figure, you would think he'd have an aversion to women!
He loved Anjelica but he fucked it up by impregnating someone else and Anjelica ended things.
Jon Stewart - that’s why he loves women & we love him, charismatic, gd lookin & killer smile❤️❤️❤️❤️
jon seems you're going by what you consider a proper, good life. Pretty sure Jack has had a very happy life. He's said he had. Successful career, has children, many women...how can you say not much stability or loved?.
Little continuity in life with love, it has turned out, whether a positive or negative. You decide. I believe in retrospect he broke Angelica Huston’s heart, along with his own. I hope I’m wrong.
@@sailordog1414 Well just my opinion, I think he’s very much like his Terms of Endearment character when it comes to women. Once they’re in their 30’s, they’re over the hill and he dumps them for a younger one. As Aurora Greenway said in The Evening Star about Garrett, “he was never comfortable around children, he only liked dating them”. 😄
"...I love this work; it's very dangerous; you give your life to it..." Wow...!
So honest and shot from the hip. This is great. Actors like this are long gone. Bittersweet
@David Burgess Gene was incredible in The Quick and the Dead. Best villain of all time in my opinion
I fucking love this guy!
+pasternacco Me Too!
