    This is scare mongering. People need to use sunscreen to prevent skin cancer which is on the rise due to incorrect fears being spread by misinformation like this. It's true that they recommend using mineral sunscreen during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and on babies because we are very cautious about any chemicals and medications for infants, but throwing around words like "endocrine disruptors" without explaining what that means and what dose of sunscreen is required to have any negative effect is misleading and even harmful. A lot of people won't use mineral sunscreen daily because it leaves a whitecast and the texture is unpleasant, so taking chemical sunscreen from them by fear mongering leaves them at risk for deadly cancer.
    Get your sunscreen education from doctors and scientists if you want to learn the real effects of chemical sunscreen and still want to protect yourself from skin cancer. Recommend checking out the awesome Lab Muffin Beauty Science!

    I really dislike your videos because you present information without scientific context and as if conjecture is fact. I personally also worry about chemical sunscreens, BUT you need to be very careful about your language. To date, they are NOT proven to be endocrine disrupting. Those chemicals have shown to be endocrine disrupting in ANIMAL studies, not humans, and many times animal study results don’t translate to humans. We have been using avobenzone for multiple decades without any concrete evidence of toxicity or endocrine disruption. Please do more research or at least stop stating your personal conjecture as scientific facts by misleading CZcamsrs with quotes from the FDA out of context.

    • @lukasjenkins5076
      @lukasjenkins5076 Před rokem +2

      I will add a caveat that it’s also been shown in human cell studies, but as someone who has worked in biology labs for multiple years, I assure you that cell lines do not equal actual humans. We actually consider results in human cell line studies LOWER on the reliability totem pole than animal models, generally speaking.

    • @lukasjenkins5076

      So these labs needlessly torture animals and waste tax payer money (in the form of research grants) for DECADES and still don't have any answers for consumers? And we're supposed to have confidence in what YOU'RE saying? No thanks. Many of these chemicals have been unleashed and unregulated in U.S. products for years, yet banned in other countries. I guess WE'RE the true guinea pigs, because nothing comes of all of this until the class action lawsuits begin. Then the companies file for bankruptcy, the money changes hands into another company, and they go on to make probably worse chemical concoctions. Congratulations on being part of the problem.

    I see people mentioning how these leave a white cast, especially on darker skin. I have medium skin and just either mix a foundation/BB cream with my sunscreen (on my face) or just wait a minute for it to sink in. But I found also found a few options that might work for darker skin and still be bobby approved, the 100% pure one is in my opinion the best:
    Babo Botanicals, Daily Sheer Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Fluid, SPF50 (spf 50, $20.25)
    Glow Natural Daily Tinted Mineral Face Sunscreen and Moisturizer (spf 30, $35)
    Raw Elements Tinted Facial Moisturizer in Bronze (spf 30, $21.99). I've used this one in a lighter shade and I like the formula, probably not good for oily skin
    100% pure BB cream, has three shades the last of which (Radiance) looks like it would work for medium dark skin (spf 30, $44). This is the one I personally use in the medium shade, and I always get compliments on how great my skin looks. They have semi annual sales or random/holiday deals, so I just plan accordingly and make sure to get it on sale since it's very expensive.

In the end, go with the one that works best for your skin and stops you from burning!
