@@jamieverhoeven1064 You're not interpreting those statistics correctly. It says Cruz landed 88 Significant strikes out of 298 giving him 30.2%. Garbrandt landed 68 out of 198 giving him 34.1%. So right there, we can see for all of Cruz's hard work, he only landed 20 more strikes than Garbrandt who ultimately concluded with the higher accuracy.
You're also ignoring Knockdowns and Takedowns in the fighting stats. We can see, Garbrandt had 2 Knockdowns and 1 Takedown. Cruz had nothing for either category so he lost in both categories.
The judges probably a conduct more extensive analysis but from this analysis alone, you can see Cruz only won 1 of 4 categories. His 20 Significant Strike lead, wasn't enough to offset what he lost in accuracy, knockdowns and takedowns.
Simple as that.

Garbrandt just needs to take his time and get seasoned. the way they're building it already... cody is moving too fast and might lose if he goes too fast. basically what I see is that cody is the better fighter, overall. like once he hits his peak, Dominick wont be able to touch him. the problem is, he's trying to move too fast. and Dominick being the intelligent champion that he is... will try to take him out before he peaks, before he is seasoned. basically he's green and will be plucked before he has a chance to fully ripen. it's the same thing that happened with mayweather and canelo. a lot of the great champs do this. they see a young fighter that scares them and knows they have the potential to beat them. so instead of letting them fully mature, they pluck them when they are still too weak and inexperienced. so whether that happens or not, its just going to affect the record. point is, once cody is fully seasoned and in his prime he will be lightyears above anything cruz ever was.
