Paulo has never walked down anyone like this since it happened. This agression coupled with his phisicality were the only things that made him an interesting fighter, stick and move Paulo is low top 10 at best unfortunately

Ultimate classic! Two powerhouses giving each other it all
This fight made it seem like Costa was gonna be a force.
Then he gets injured has to pull out of the Izzy fight and is replaced with Romero
Then the Izzy fight finally happens and he gets destroyed
Then another injury and he doesn't get another fight for a good while till Vettori and loses that one fortunately didn't get destroyed that time but still a setback
Then Rockhold and he finally gets a victory
Then finally the opportunity to make contendership once again by fighting Whitaker and he loses that one.
Been unfortunate for him.
I was rooting for him to win that fight. Would have opened up some new and exciting fights. Since Whittaker's fought everyone.
Strickland might be his last opportunity to finally get to contendership one more time.
Hopefully he does.

All jokes aside, I honestly believe the his was Costas last fight on gear. He hasn’t fought like this since, he fights in the same weight division but has definitely downsized. And doesn’t push forward anymore
