      Thanks mate! It does indeed help having someone else to bounce energy off.. but mainly seeing the reaction of people keeps me motivated, along with watching videos like yours keeps me inspired. I need a new video off you soon!

    im digging every single part of this project from the characters having seperate limbs down to the way textures are made. Are you planning to add the classic dark circle shadows, or are you sticking the modern real time ones?

      I plan to experiment soon with different shadows soon, the current shadow is quite glitchy since it's a fake shadow.

    I have been binge watching your videos today, I must say your models look really good and it really inspired me to practice 3d modeling, I just wanna ask if you have a wireframe pic with the number of tris of the models on this video, would really like to study it and use it as a reference in making my own models, Thanks!

    I know it's been a year, but shouldn't the guy react in an opposite direction? Along the punch, not against it.
    But kick/punch in the stomach should bend him towards the main character.

      I have been meaning to make a video on it for a while, but have been too busy sadly, If you are looking to get stuck right in with Ps1 effects I recommend this marcis.itch.io/psxfx It's the perfect place to start :)

    What's that technique called at 0:42 whereby you're layering an image on top of the tiles which is then used as an overlay to shade the image below?

      I'm not sure if it's officially got a name, but essentially what I'm doing is creating gradient boxes and tinkering with the blend modes :)

      Hey! nope not a stupid question as I looked into what it would take to get UE4 to PS1 and you don't want to know what it would take :'D Unfortunately It wouldn't be possible :'( aha

    I get it that technically the ps1 could do ragdoll physics but I feel like using them is really not capturing the experience of playing a playstation game. I'd prefer a shoddy death animation in all honesty

      I understand, I had a hard time deciding this, however I have to remind myself this is PS1 esque / PS1.5, I think of it as taking all the things PS1 was capable of doing and adding them to 1 game (without the limitations)... Plus, I have also considered adding options in the settings for this sort of thing. Rag doll or classic Death animations etc.. Thanks for watching btw :)
