- SIMPLY SOPHISTICATED - BOSS EQ-200 GRAPHIC EQUALIZER
The BOSS 200 series is a new generation of pedals that pack advanced sound and versatility into a streamlined size with easy and intuitive controls.
Rabea Massaad kindly introduce the EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer which is the most flexible compact EQ ever created for guitar and bass.
About the BOSS EQ-200...
With its refined design, 32-bit/96 kHz engine, and ultra-low noise specs, the EQ-200 delivers precision tonal control with superior audio quality. Up to 15 dB of cut or boost is available on each band, and each channel has a level slider for balancing with the bypass sound or kicking in a solo boost when needed.
The EQ-200’s variable signal flow structure (series, parallel, stereo, dual mono) offers an uncommon level of versatility in sculpting sounds. The A and B channels can be linked together or used independently, and you can also patch in an external pedal (or a chain of pedals) for pre-EQ and/or post-EQ processing.

#BOSS #EQ200 #200series - Hudba
Her we go again... more things I can't afford but want! Bea has done it to me again. If only I were young
Dont worry, its once again another "digital unjustified expensive " equalizer. That dont mean its a bad thing, but Roland and Boss are always more expensive, the research for these type of products are all already been done for a long time, thats just a nice package and good marketing...but too expensive.
Well my Boss eq 200 turned up today, from Andertons and after just a few hours, I have the best tone I’ve ever had, (and I’ve had a few) I can’t quite believe just how much this pedal has helped in finding such a brilliant sound, 10/10 I can’t recommend enough
Picked up my EQ 200 the other day and it’s amazing. You can really mimic or personalize your own sound with this unit.
I just ordered this! EQ is always in my pedalboard and it’s easily one of the most important pedals you can own! very useful live!!! or at home :) but all this routing options is very very interesting!!! takes it to a new level!!! I’ve got a worn out Boss GE-7 and MXR 10 band :) you could have one good overdrive pedal and use the eq to have different flavours for it :) if that’s the saying? definitely an EQ for those who like to get creative! It’s so easy to get distracted by other pedals when buying something new :) just find the will to get an EQ!!!! it’s something you will use a lot and be a real support for your tones
Excellent demos on all of the pedals 😊
Every boss is made for the road but some boss es are ultimate solutions for us...thank you!!
This is awesome. It can, by itself, shape and revoice a single OD into a ton of new different sounds. Maybe even scale down a board to a single OD and this will be doable.
If it is marketed at a reasonable price here this will be my first buy of the range.
I've used a GE-7 pedal for 30 years. But now I MUST have one of these. My favorite features are the presets, and the ability to eq the guitar signal and amp signal separately!
The Equalizer is such a secret weapon. Thanks for always putting out rad videos.
Hi Rabea! Interesting video! You played & setted well the EQ-200 so you got an awesome tone! I tested the brand new Boss EQ200 on my Marshall JMP-1 so I had all the voices of Rock! From Classic cutting treble Plexi to modern metal V shape drive channel! There is just a name to say guitar equalizer: Boss EQ200 !!!
Hi Rabea, Hi Boss! Thank 'U !!! 'U 're the Best!!
This pedal might be the most useful pedal on any of our boards but we rarely go for eq first, or even second or third.
I got mine yesterday and I did my own A/B with my tele and fender mustang 3 and I have to say sounds like a better amp and a better guitar. I am surprised and pleased with how it sounds before I add any other pedal to the board.
I wonder if I could use those MIDI ports to go into my interface and mix tracks within a DAW with the pedal itself
HI man, what are you playing? on the begining and end, its very good sound what i like, is it any band song? i think i know it, anyway good video, thx for replay jiri
Fantastic video. Extremely informative and very well made. So firstly, thank you 😊
Is there any reason this eq would be a poor choice for use with an upright bass?
Any specific advantages for using this pedal with basses in general as opposed to guitar?
Does this pedal have enough bandwidth to handle DAW mixes for using it as outboard eq.
For you bass players out there, get one YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
whats the riff/song played for the first 2 minutes, sounds so good.
Although Unconventional, I'd like to use it from a DJ prospective to tune the speakers, and I'd prefer this over the regular "rack"
equalizers. Would it be possible? Does it work with line level signals?
Everything about this is great. What guitar is that being played at the start?
Pretty sure Chapman guitars
Could I get parallel compression by using a comp pedal from A output to B input?
I don't own one, but it sure seems like it
Can I run two mono inputs and send them out through one mono output? For stereo instruments like the Chapman Stick?
Heath Parker You could try to see if A input comes out of B output. Or get a mono y adapter cable : )
... been wondering: is it possible to make it work as a crossover (without additional gear involved): IN = 1 Mono-signal > OUT 2 signals with very different settings - eg. have the reverse-delay only fed by BASS and trem/chorus only fed by MID-& HIGH-range frequencies?
That's how it looks like Rabea's using it at 1:03. The lows are all cut entirely on the pedal for what I assume is only for one channel. This is how I plan on running this pedal for my bass rig.
5:00 is what we are both looking for. Just need a summing pedal to merge the separate signal chains again.
@@Egr3gious I asked for "without additional gear". Stupidly enough this does not seem to be possible, because BOSS didn't think of this requirement or feature. As found out in other contexts: most / (!) good / excellent hardware creators are lousy, when it comes to software. When it comes to manuals, its a PITA ! Yes, true for BOSS, Eventide, Line 6 ... we're still in the mindset of synth programming in the late 80ies ... !
@@Egr3gious ... can't see that. AGAIN here is my scenario: 1 guitar that feed 2s channels: one with LOW-pass, one with HIGH-pass setting. the respective outputs go 2 two separate effect-chains - then 2 Amps. Makes a lot of sense - will post a video on the resulting effect sometime soon (e.g. backwards delay on the lower strings only, and octa-fuzz on the upper strings only). To make ends meet - i.e. the the 2 effect-chains - again within the EQ: fine, but that's not what I am looking for (I'm recording the 2 channels discreetly feeding 2 separate amps ...). Currently, I'm using a LEHLE P-Split to feed the 2 independent Mono-signals. Works fine - at the price of 50-100 €/$ for a splitter that should be integrated into the gear or even is - without access across the software interface. Software / GUI development and hardware factories - that's a story of its own ...
The amount of kit this guy gets thru anyone would think he had a discount at Andertons and perhaps now boss!
Nice guy though and knows his stuff so if anyones going to do it it should be him.
Does the Boss EQ 200 really have the headroom to be used post-distortion, i.e. in the FX loop of the amp? This is where the level of the signal is a lot higher than it is between guitar pedals, and horrible clipping can take place if the pedal is not up to the job. The MXR 10 band EQ allows a maximum input and output level of +16dBu (+14dBv) before clipping, the Source Audio Programmable EQ allows +9dBu (2.2V RMS), the Strymon Timeline and Blue Sky delay and reverb units (used in FX loop) allow +8dBu.
The Boss EQ-200 allows +7dBu. Is this enough?
EQ is really meant to be used in front of your rig. What's to be gained by putting it in the effects loop?
@@joeltunnah So much is to be gained by having EQ in the FX loop. Get googling!
@ForViewingOnly I design and build amplifiers, been tinkering with electronics, guitars and pedals for 30 years. I don’t need to google it. Just because you *can* do something doesn’t mean it's a good idea. But you do you.
@@joeltunnah . "Tinkering" is the word then. You have closed your mind.
Looks really good. Will it work on a Mac running Catalina?
I’d be great if Rabea played the cool riffs as a after demo just to see what you can really do instead of talking while being played 😅🤷🏼♂️
Is this a digital pedal? What's the difference between an analog and a digital pedal? Is there one which is less noisy than the other? Thanks.
Spirituality1980 Yep it is digital.
It’s a tough sell EQ but if folk really understood that it will breathe new life into everything they own its is a no-brainier.
one of my goto, got to have pedals at all times....not that any one gives a shit but hey, it's the world wide web of commentaries and pointless bullshit. maybe someone will see my comment and it will save their life. right.
Why would a guitarist use a multi-channel EQ if they only have one guitar? I can see the need to multi-channel when live looping with multiple instruments and mics.
Influencer, bedroom rocker marketing at its finest.
DIGITAL SOUNDS ARTIFICIAL TO ME I THOUGHT IT WAS AN UPGRADE OF THE BOSS GE_& BUTS ITS NOT AS GOOD AS A MODDED GE 7_& BECAUSE OF CRAPPY DIGITAL SOUND WASTE OF MONEY FOR ME!!!! GET A MODDED BOSS GE-7 FOR ELECTRIC GUITAR INSTEAD ASK TOM BUCHOVIK OF HOME SKOOLIN USE YOUR EARS!!!!
You must have deaf ears mate.. plus your keyboard has caps lock stuck on.
WHY ARE WE SCREAMING?!?
Likely that you couldn’t tell the difference. Actually it’s certain in this scenario. Analog vs digital is so old as an argument particularly when you’ve never heard the pedal in question. Also your keyboard is apparently broken.
This comment reminds me of the Wendy’s Facebook shitposts 😂
