  • SIMPLY SOPHISTICATED - BOSS DD-200 DIGITAL DELAY
The BOSS 200 series is a new generation of pedals that pack advanced sound and versatility into a streamlined size with easy and intuitive controls.
Rabea Massaad kindly introduce the DD-200 Digital Delay which offers 12 different delay modes from modern digital to classic analog for inspiring your creativity.
    About the DD-200 Digital Delay...
With 12 different modes to choose from, the DD-200 provides nearly any flavor of delay in an amazingly compact size. At your command are super-clean digital delays, gritty analog echoes, and spot-on retro sounds from the Roland RE-201 Space Echo and Binson Echorec 2. There’s also a variety of options for creating reverse effects, lo-fi tones, and pulsing rhythmic sounds with layered delays. And with the Tera Echo, Shimmer, and Pad Echo modes, immersive ambient colors are just a knob twist away.
    The BOSS DD-200 Modes include:
◆ Standard-Clear digital delay. PARAM adjusts the delay attack.
◆ Analog-Emulates classic analog “BBD” delays like the BOSS DM series. PARAM controls character and distortion amount.
◆ Tape-Emulates the warm tape-based sound of the legendary Roland RE-201 Space Echo. PARAM selects different combinations of three playback heads, and also adjusts the amount of distortion in the delay sound.
◆ Drum-Models the drum-based Binson Echorec 2. PARAM selects different combinations of four playback heads, and also adjusts the amount of distortion in the delay sound.
◆ Shimmer-Pitch-shifted delay for lush, heavenly textures. PARAM adjusts the delay brightness.
◆ Tera Echo-Spacious, animated ambience effect derived from the BOSS TE-2 pedal. PARAM adjusts the sound character.
◆ Pad Echo-Newly developed delay sound for creating drifting ambient textures. PARAM adjusts the delay attack.
◆ Pattern-Rhythmic sounds with 16 delay lines layered together. PARAM selects different pattern variations.
◆ Lo-Fi-Delay sound with fat, distorted character. PARAM adjusts the distortion effect.
◆ Dual-Two different delay lines connected in series. PARAM adjusts the time of the second delay.
◆ Reverse-Backwards delay for cool psychedelic effects and other unique tones. PARAM adjusts the delay attack.
◆ Ducking-Delay with a built-in ducking effect. PARAM adjusts the input sensitivity.

Great pedal and best of all great presentation....no babbling, straightforward explanation and then demos the effect. All gear videos should be done exactly like this. Great video and thank you. I'm off now to scrounge up money for this awesome pedal. Long live BOSS!

Fan of Bea over past few years since discovering him and friends at highly entertaining and informative shop video tests at Andertons UK . He is a great player and also seems like a cool dude (as they all do). The Pink Floyd riff was spot on!!!! Pedal sounds amazing! Thanks Roland, Boss, Bea!

Want! I've been using, and loving, an RV3 for about 20 years - my only effect apart from occasional light chorus from the amp. I play acoustic and love delay effects, this pedal looks like it has everything I need. Great presentation too, no faffing, just a demonstration of what the pedal can do, and I suspect this is just scratching the surface!

Bizarre that it doesn't have a ping-pong delay (panning delay) etc. Even the Boss RC300's built in effects has that as a delay option. Can't wait for the RC300 update!! RC500 and 505 are great Boss...time for the mothership floor looper update!! Let's do this.

I have seen may videos about DD200 and DD500 and nobody talks about changing delays or changing presets, I want to know what happen if you play with one nice ambient shimmering sweet long delay and you need to change to another patch or presser or change your memory bank to another one either pressing the switch or via MIDI. Does your last ambient shimmering sweet long delay still there until vanish with the delay decay and mix your sound with the new patch, or that delay cuts abruptly off and is replaced with the new delay??
I guess it is called carryover.

Hi Boss / Rabea - it is stated at the end of this video that MIDI can be used to tempo-sync, however, there's nothing about it in the manual. Nothing on the Boss website either. Was it an error to mention it in this video, or are we waiting for a firmware upgrade or something? Many thanks.

I spent some time on this yesterday and was not able to figure out a way to actually change delay time with midi (other than changing to a stored program). Would love to hear from someone at Boss on whether this is possible.

    • @kyledege315
      @kyledege315 Před rokem

I got my gt1000 core to sync up with my dd200s tap tempo by running an aux cable from the midi out of the dd200 to the midi in on the gt. The dd200 basically doubles as a midi clock. Just set the delays sync to internal and whatever pedal you want to control to auto

@@jamesnichols5998 yeah I’m not gonna spend that much for single delay feature. Part of what sold me on the dd200 was the pedalboard friendly size. It does almost everything I want it to and does do everything I need it to.
